    I feel like a kindergarten kid sitting in a high school class, when listening to this. Seems pointless to listen to the 'high level' stuff when I've had no experience, no shift of perspective but this is beautiful. And your videos genuinely reassure me that I could get there some day. Thanks a lot.

    Found this video yesterday searching for “senses” in your library, and…whoa. So, I experienced a shift about three weeks ago, on Friday morning at the AOL retreat. Things had become very quiet, as they had earlier in the week as well, but for some reason, perhaps to reduce the likelihood of a thought intrusion, I started repeating “now, now, now”, and “here, here, here”. I never use mantras, but just started doing it spontaneously. I was feeling closeness, a sense of being right on the edge, and then a feeling of awareness and my senses collapsing together and feeling they were one thing, and that is what I am. Then immediately I felt a sense of returning to reality, but reality was different. Clear and light. I didn’t open my eyes for 20 minutes or so, waiting for this sense to change, but it didn’t, still hasn’t.
    I got goosebumps just now when you started repeating “here, here, here” in the video.

    I wish I would have found you a year ago. Your videos are the only thing I have ever seen that talk about this first shift EXACTLY and with such accurate detail. It's been a confusing year of flip flopping back and forth, knowing it is right here closer than my own face, but thank Divine Grace something fundamental has stayed and the glimpses seem longer and longer. Your pointing has been super helpful.

    I haven't experienced the first awakening. But I feel sense field is my entry point for meditation. I see myself becoming more and more present but the identity feels just too real. Today I used another entry point that I had forgotten about, that was realising the simple fact that I know nothing. Even with the identity that feels so real, I don't know anything about it. It would usually lead to the question - am I real? But it didn't this time.

    I left a question on another video which said I don’t see any difference between awareness and sensation or perception (I think you use the word consciousness differently which tripped me up.) - perhaps this video is the answer.

    Is it normal to have that intimacy with a sound like a person talking where it feels like you are the sound, for lack of a better description, but for only a second or 2?

      It’s common that non-dusk starts out experiential and episodic, then at some point becomes clearly realized (it’s just this way and couldn’t be other).

    It’s really interesting to hear that “the only way the awareness can be is the sense phenomena” (at 3:39). Is “pure awareness” not a real thing then? So what are people (myself included) actually sensing when they think they’re experiencing that?

    Ok whoa, something shifted again, I have been looking through consciousness as if I was trying to find something or experience something then in a brief moment of completely letting everything be as it is, the senses do what they were doing, giving up the idea that I was even a body I was thrust into everything. All the senses and consciousness became one and the same. And then it all reversed and I was here again.. I think I know how to sustain this and get it back but is this the right way to go?

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well you can’t get back what’s already here so it’s more like seeing the perceptual filters and the apparent benefits of living in a world of seeking what can never be found.

    so if you say hearing happen without ears, seeing happens without sight ect. 2 obvious question is why the appearence of specialized sensory organs and why do different animals tap different parts of the EMF spectrum than we do?

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Those are thoughts. This is pointing to non-dual realization which has nothing to do with thoughts. If trying to work in this way leads to analysis, I recommend on working toward awakening via the basics of awakening and awakening approaches playlists.
