Which one would you pick? i5 M60 or i7 M70?
I would buy both so I could ask myself that question every time I open my garage.
Haha good choice
i5 M60❤
I already have a deposit on the i5 M60. Just waiting for it to be released from the vehicle processing center.
I4 M50
I know these videos take tons of effort, i'm considering this car and this helps a lot. we appreciate your efforts!!
I appreciate that!
This was a great video. I test drove thus today and it’s amazing!
Thank you. It was a bit long :) What did you think of the car?
Damn. At first I was VERY skeptical of this design, but as more reviews come in, I am literally falling in love with it. This is a very sharp-looking 5 Series and those rear lights are absolutely gorgeous. The only issue I have (which I am slowly warming up to) is how "tall" it looks. I can’t help but notice its height. However, this is such a brilliant review and I love those Iconic Sounds. I wonder what kind of wizardry did they use to make those sounds match with acceleration and deceleration. This is truly remarkable. I think its the best-looking EV.
The height unfortunately has to do with the battery packs. All EVs sit higher to the ground.
@bmwblog That makes sense but at the same time, I ask myself how they made the i4 to look slick and low. 🙈 Regardless, I'm choosing the i5M60 over the i7 M70.💯✨️
The best review of the car. Thank you
Wow, thanks! Glad it was useful
@@bmwblog I wouldn’t have bought mine without seeing this. Great job and thank you.
Good review, I’m clarified since i saw the comparison between the i5 40 vs the 530i but… also I think that 530e should be put on comparison test vs the I5, in this case de 40…
However there’s is one think in this review that I don’t think is logic, to choose between the i5 40 or i5 m60. It doesn’t make much sense. Man the price is very different between both i5’s so you have there your answer very quickly…
I got an i4 M50 over a Tesla M3P … advantages for me were proper hatchback and HUD, features just not available on the Tesla. Both perform excellently. My two prior cars were both Tesla model S … and iDrive, although good, does not compare to the Tesla software offering.
Of course, if buying a new M3 Highland you would have to be prepared to manage without indicator or windscreen washer stalks…
Because I’ve been driving EVs for seven years, I wasn’t so concerned going outside the Tesla charging network: I knew what I was getting into not having the Tesla holding my hand and finding the next charger for me, and thus far I’ve managed without that assistance. But if you are new to EVs the Tesla charging network and car integration is a major advantage.
This is why I'm hoping one day BMW will adopt the Tesla charging port so it can use that network
Would you test thw hybrid variants as well ?
In November probably
My cousin who resides in Canada just picked up his 2024 i5 M60 today. Please confirm that we in the United States will not get the 4-zone digital climate control in the rear? What happened to door sills? No more illumination?
We will ask BMW next week
hated it the first days but its been growing on me ...
Interesting :)
I owned a Tesla model three for four months and had to get rid of it because the panels had huge gaps and I could stick my finger in and buttons would fall off in the materials were cheap. I would never buy another Tesla. I don’t care if that they are super fast acceleration wise.
Was it more comfortable to drive than the ix m60i?
The iX M60i is more comfortable because it has a full air suspension.
How is the stereo compared to other flagship B&W stereos?
Did not really have a chance to test that. This was mostly about driving
given the price of the B&W is the same as the 2023 HK system, it's closer to that than the current B&W offered
What is it compared to the i4 m50? Which one would you go for?
i4 M50, a bit more fun
@@bmwblogDuring my 10 month wait for the i4 M50, they offered to get me into the i5 M60. I turned it down because I felt the smaller M50 will be more fun so I agree with you. Nice video 👍🏾❤
Don't you get annoyed by the reflection of the dashboard in the windshield? Or is it the camera's fault that you can see this reflection?
That is the heads up display
You mean the head up display?
@@bmwblog no, I mean the entire dashboard that is reflected in the windshield. for example, air conditioning outlet, steering wheel, all plastics
I have a 3 series with the sensatec stitched dashboard option. When it's sunny, and the sun is hitting it properly, I do see the reflection of the stitching in the windshield. Is it annoying, a little, but it's very low in my line of sight so not really a main part i look at all the time.
Did you ask the engineers about why they went with such a small battery compared to the iX and i7?
Apparently packaging
@@bmwblog got it. thanks for checking!
Why the interaction bar ( the ambient light bar) is not the same in diesel as in the electric version? Why is not the same? That is not fair at all. It is very disappointing. If they offer same design for every type of engine, then why are they doing this? Can you ask BMW headquarter if the diesel version can have the same interaction bar like in i5?
Not sure. Maybe because the i5 is more expensive?
Best looking EV. I love the traditional design on the outside and all the tech on the inside.
Not the e40?
How does this compare to the BMW IX
Very different cars. Bu I like the iX more because of its platform
@@bmwblog what makes the IX better in your opinion
@@TheSpiroTube interior space for one. More efficient
@@bmwblog I have the iX50 but I find myself wanting a sportier ride
Mileage range is too low on these early EVs. Love the looks and performance though.
Totally agree
@@bmwblog I think once the technology (solid state or what ever is next) advances more and we have charging ranges in the 350-450 miles, EVs will sell very well. There is a reason there are countless people like my neighbor who has a brand new Model X for the family but refuses to sell their 2021 Suburban yet and fully commit to EV
Ill take it with a diesel of gasoline thanks
You can, there are options
Will Legoland sell these electric toy cars, and do they come with a remote control?😂
BMW EVs are unfortunately couldn't compete with Mercedes and Audi in terms of performance.
Over $100K for a car that does 0-60 in 3.8 seconds LOL.
Imagine the EQE AMG will piss on this in terms of performance. It is really sad to see this. All ICE BMW cars used to kill the competition in the last couple of years. But, for the electric cars, it is totally a different story.
Even Kia is now superior to BMW.
It's 3.7 seconds. I didn't use launch control
LOL you think bmw wants the best 0-60 time for the price compared to the competition? If you really only care about that get a model 3 performance or tesla model s plaid. That is similar to the audis and mercedes but way faster. Bmw is trying to offer their evs like their sporty, fun to drive ice cars. Mercedes and audi evs feel very unnatural and doesnt handle well.
Why the obsession with 0-60 times. It’s only one aspect of performance cars and 3.8 seconds is already silly to have on a car for public roads.
Most BMW buyers are not really that obsessed by a few more 10th's in drag racing. Your never going to get to Plaid numbers with a real, luxury level car. 3.7 is stupid fast compared to just a few years ago. It matches/beats the previous M550.
EQE is beyond fugly
I know it's not a fair comparison in terms of features and materials etc., but Tesla model 3 performance can do 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and going to be much cheaper.
You get what you pay for: It's a laptop in a tin bucket with two motors and a solid cooling system
@@AndreiGonzalesDesign soon model 3 will have interior lighting and cooling seats :) and for the price difference you can change interior to a leather one with ventilation, add massage and still have money to buy a slightly used toyota corolla. Model 3 performance has good brakes and good handling overall. And, frankly speaking, iDrive 8/8.5 and new dash is sooo ugly, I would prefer the Tesla implementation.
Again, this is not apple to apple comparison, but if you want a performance car for a much less budget and quicker, there are options available.
@@mlurkers I think you need to own a BMW to understand, as spec sheets don’t tell the whole story. Every car maker will build to their price point, so things like adaptive dampers and advanced suspension options are examples of where Tesla will compromise to meet their price target. In that sense, I would compare the 5 to the Model S, not the Model 3. Additionally, the upcoming Neue Klasse dedicated EV platform will be a better comparison. This BMW is still a transition product.
Teslas are at a lower price point for a reason. You always get what you pay for. Just like comparing a 7 series to a Rolls Royce, there are levels to these things.
@@AndreiGonzalesDesign I have g05 x5 45e and just sold 330e my23 with a new dash, driven other BMWs in the past several yeras, also had tesla model 3 and driven model Y for some time, so I understand the difference to some extent.
My point is different - M cars are ultimate performance driving machines etc. and priced accordingly. That must be rather upsetting when a much cheaper model 3 is overall quicker & faster and doesn't handle terrible and may be even on the same level (I obviously have no way to compare at this point, but soon i5ms will be available for test drives).
@@mlurkers I don’t know if anyone that drives the M or even M sport cars would be upset. The Tesla cars are fine daily cars that can go quick in a straight line for sure, but I wouldn’t trust it at sustained speeds on a mountain road. If I wanted a car that can switch between comfy to sport (or track) when I feel like it, and make me feel good when I sit in it, that’s currently not something Tesla offers (not sure if the Model S has good suspension).
Tesla does a lot of things well, but also compromises on others. Personally, I feel it compromises on what a car needs to have great balanced performance, but does well on what a normal commuter product should have.
Doing 0-60.uphil??😂
uphill? where?
Designed by stevie wonder,What a bland crap looking car.Could be any hyundai or a kia bmw stinger,I am a massive Bmw fan I own 6 But these new designs suck balls
This is masterpiece compared to 7 series tho.
You didnt even use launch control, amature..
Forgot about it for the i5. Did it for the i7 M70 but was rushing with the i5 review
"amature"????? 😂😂🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Such a bland & boring looking car
It depends on the angle. I find it sometimes to be too aggressive honestly
Yeah most of those who can’t afford it say the same.
@@goranbencic3502sadly we could only afford a fully loaded $100,000 BMW iX MSport
You can get a plaid for the same price 🥱
And you can get 4 fuel efficient Corolla’s for the price of a plaid. What’s the relevance? 🤔
it's cheaper for a reason .. u people make 0 sense. U get 0 luxury in a tesla and they cut corners to make their profit margins as much as possible. Think about this. The tesla model s plaid was 140-160k last year and now in one year it's 60k used and 89k new. That's historic depreciation. It obviously was never even worth 100k with what's used to make it. If they can make a profit off selling it new for 89k who knows what it actually cost to make 😂 they use the lowest grade shit. It'd basically an ipad on wheels. Nothing feels special about being in or seeing a tesla. They are dull and plain jane. Tesla uses "minimalistic" design as an excuse to drive profit margins up. Elon and tesla do anything they can fo fool their audience. Obv his ego got hurt that the taycan beat it around a track so he used f1 supercar tires that no production car comes with 😂 tesla also recieved a lawsuit recently for lying about the range estimates their cars..
