All that Demian said in after credits scene was all a reference to "The Little Prince". I actually surprised how well the story of Heath and Cathy correlates with the story of Prince and rose that he raised. I'm so satisfied with this Canto, waiting now for Don's one, I'm actually intrigued what they're gonna cook with her story.
I'm actually more afraid of what Don's story is. Like she has addressed that her fervor is not something she could control but only repress. She also had some serious moments when she sees the same fervor in the other SINNERS when it should not be. She hero worships Fixers, has a collection of figurines and plays with them like dolls. But what I'm more concerned about is that Rocinante and Sancho are absent since we have met her. Just how whacked out insane and delulu is her home Area?

Vergillius getting his hands dirty at the cost of his own contract. Mersault becoming a more proactive team player. Dante unlocks new skills thanks to the Gold Bough. The entirety of Heathcliff's story, and it's sad turn. This was effectively the Character growth canto.
As to Heathcliff... he got the closure he needed. Basically, all this time he worried and feared that Catherine never loved him. That all the suffering he endured at the manor was pointless. Now he knows that they really did have a chance, but their failure to communicate messed it up. It doesn't make the pain of loss go away, but there's comfort in knowing that it wasn't alwawys doomed to fail. And that realization that he needs to be braver in his relationships will help him grow. If Heath does get "revive Catherine" into his head, I expect he'll still try to become a better person so that if/when they meet again he won't make the same mistakes. And I doubt he'll become obssessed with the idea, even then. He's learned to not be chained to his past.
I also don't think he's going to be obsessed with it, because he only mentioned it once at the end of the canto, and its his new ego line. For such an ambitious goal, I was surprised how few times its mentioned.
Theres a parallel between his story and yesod. Both is about "not bottling up your feelings", and is about how "you should express yourself, within reasonable limits"
At least Heathcliff can finally move forward now, I think... Before all this, he was trapped in the past like other Heathcliffs, filled with bitterness and self-hatred from his own upbringing. But unlike Hindley or Linton, he is the one who (With the help of Dante) can muster the courage to at least face his mistakes, determined to never running away from it anymore. Not all problems will be fixed immediately, but he's now finally able to look forward. To confront Hermann's group and take the golden bough back. A goal not fueled by self-hatred or bitterness of the past but by his love for Cathy and desire for a better future. Sure, his path forward might be filled with a tempest of hardship and despair. But even so, just like the flower "Heath", he has the power to endure and overcome it. TLDR; Just like with other sinners, their story arc never finished with their canto. Yi Sang has to stop N Corp from abusing his mirror. Gregor and Rodion still have to confront Hermann and Sonya. Sinclair and Ismael still growing and trying to find their own path. So my point is, that this is just the beginning for Heathcliff too. And let's be honest, we might not even end with Inferno if PM is still cooking this much with Limbus anyways.

That one reality, where Heath lies to rest next to Cathy. Is actually the ending of wuthering heights the book. As a book reader this was so bitter sweet.
The golden boughs can grant wishes. So Heathcliff could potentially wish Cathy back later on. And I sincerely hope he does. The man's gone through hell. He deserves to have a happy ending.
In fairness to Heathcliff, Nelly’s being a massive hypocrite when she accuses him of being afraid to communicate with Catherine and vice versa. Nelly burned Heathcliff’s letters. Communicating gets hard when some jackass is stopping you.
Nelly is pretty clearly an antagonist by the end of the Canto, I honestly think she's coping with the lack of control in her life, realizing that in every world her fate is to be a side character in the plot probably fucked with her, and when Heathcliff gives her control of her own story by letting her run Wuthering Heights Nelly doesn't even know what to do and has a break down. She has spent her whole life serving and being a servant to others she has no clue how to even approach independence. I don't hate Nelly, her actions are a symptom of what she has gone through, she is flawed but not irredeemable.
Spoilers below for anyone who for some reason is reading the comments on this video before having either watched it fully or playing the game themselves. So, I feel like I am about 90% confident in saying that we will NOT be getting a Cathy ID. Since PM likes keeping EVERYTHING canon, and there are no remaining Cathy identities in any Mirror Worlds that could be identities.
I checked Pequod Heathcliff’s defeat wail and the mention of Cathy is censored now, so I guess the only way we’re getting a Catherine ID is if Heathcliff decides to do a “Restore All Cathy” canto even though he only cares about his own Catherine

In Lobotomy Corp, we went from the top of the tree to the bottom and turned it upside down. In Library of Ruina, we've started at the bottom of the tree and then the tree got yeeted. Now we finally started looking at the top most layer of the upside down tree and we might get to the bottom of this, as Dante gets to know more about the world. The tree is not a tree, it's an iceberg.

The game was more or less pointing out that Linton looked bad already because of his poor health and at that moment he looked worse, paler and much closer to expiring before he became 'dough'. Edit: For the Faust bit, I think the emphasis should be on the potential bit. Faust can know anything, but doesn't have that knowledge immediately on hand if it isn't something she wouldn't personally know.
You know I just realised that other world cathy starts with 404 shield 404 is the error code for “Not found”, usually you’d see it if you try to access a webpage that no longer exists So it’s referencing that she is literally a link to something that doesn’t exist anymore
And every Heathcliff Identity is slowly forgetting the woman who scarred his heart, any mention of them in their identity stories or dialogue getting [REDACTED]. Their hearts will heal and they'll find their own way. Even N-corp Heathcliff I guess.

I do think though that journeying in attempt to bring her back is still probably better than "journeying in attempt to impress her because both of them have communication issues", it mostly depends on whether its possibly for her to come back whether his journey continues to be about acceptance or more suffering before hope. Well that is assuming its not just straight up tragic ending
Realizing that Heath's reunion was completely off the table since part 1, and that he completed his arc by telling Cathy he loves her just before she gets DELETEd, and her saying she loves THIS Heathcliff for who he is, made me understand more of what the canto meant. His chance had passed. This is the best he was going to get. Especially after that bitch Nelly fucked everything up. It doesn't always work out. We need more stories like this.
What a wild ride this Canto was, im kinda speechless right now. Next in line for trauma should be our favorite little gremlin from W Corp. District, Don Quixote. Time to visit Kalis/Geburas old stomping grounds, but after properly seeing the power gap between Vergilius and the Sinners, we will likely get splittet in vertical fashion. Please Don, dont summon your idol, we are far from ready for that one ...
It wasn't a happy ending, but it was strangely... hopeful. The fact that Cathy was completely erased from all Mirror Worlds is just insane, and the only ones that remember are Dante and Heathcliff, alongside Heathcliff willingness to endure for his new wish. To bring her back. We will bring your Cathy back Heathcliff, we will reinstall Cathy.

man this canto make me feel pity for everyone involved, in the end everyone was following what they tought was the best, no twisted desire to do evil, just broken people following their wishes
Just saying Limbus is a game about rng management Its about managing risk vs reward in fights. I had so much fun with the fights because I had fun managing that rng. The moment I saw Nellie's evade, I immediately knew to use defence offsetting. The moment I see an extremely punishing clash win effect that is neutral or favoured, I immediately blocked with my tank ID or use an ego like crows eye view or ribbons ego. As a result I was rewarded, I won every single fight in the canto first try(use potentialman for fun on all fights). Barely any rng needed. The one source of rng I will admit is overly unfair is speed because because you can get bricked in the final fight by it(I saw a streamer lose an hours worth of progress because of speed rng). But its easily counteracted by Ishmael's pink ribbons or by constantly binding the enemy(but that requires you knowing the mechanics of the fight of course). I fought altcliff in part 2 several times for fun. I used burn teams, tremor teams, charge teams, envy teams. I won every single time even with bad rng. In my burn and envy run, my sinners were at 0 sp the entire time. But this is because I know how to manage my rng. I could easily win by tanking and taking good clashes. Never did I complain about rng, because there was barely any involved. This is why when someone loses a fight in Limbus, most of the time I call it a skill issue. Because they bring in IDs and EGOs with barely any synergy and balance and clash every skill expecting to win and blame rng and blame the game when they dont win. They dont bring in Molar Ishmaels's base 10 evade(no rng needed btw at 0 sanity). They assume if they clash everything they will win, but a lot of the time the best ways to play to increase the chances of winning is to block, evade, use ego on other sinners, take losing clashes on other sinners to reduce dmg taken, etc. I strongly feel that Limbus has really good gameplay because of the rng. The rng makes it fun because every fight feels so different from each other. Just wanted to spread this message because I truly believe that Limbus has good gameplay and many people just really dont know how to play it
I’m so glad to have a person who is able to put my same feelings to words. Rng is a pain, but without it, there is no game. The fun is the management. Reading, Planning, Deciding, and Executing is the best part of these games. The other half is the fun of trying to analyze the developer’s intentions
@@keku52 I think PM is having issues balancing the human/SP bosses when sinking is in play, on one hand, you need to make it so the godamn butler/maids, catholics and walking bush cant just make the bosses go imeaidate depresso expresso so the boss can actually roll heads. But the consequence of that is the bosses are as manic as Linton receiving a blowie from Cathy and roll ABSURDLY high turn 2. Not sure what they can do to mitigate that tbh, possibly reduce the sanity lost from sinking, or rework the sinking mechanic entirely but of course that'll be VERY costly.

I think it’s kind of funny how we wanted Heathcliff to have an EGO manifestation rather than distortion, but distortion doesn’t mean, “bad” and EGO manifestation doesn’t mean “good”, rather I think it’s more of a necessity for Heathcliff to go through the distortion as a part of his growth.
I think the reason Aseah was like "does this remind you of anything lmao" towards Gregor is because, well. It's almost a smoke, and there was a LOT of smoke during the Smoke War. It's "different in a few places" - as in, not actually the Old L Corp's Smoke - but it's still a sight similar enough to trigger Greg's 'Nam Flashbacks somewhat.

For peeps having trouble with 6-44, kill the add with the same barrier color as Erlking ASAP (i.e. if he has the purple barrier, kill the purple barrier add) to neutralize his barrier, hit him with Deep Bereavement and kill the other adds in one go. Also neutralizes some of his stuff(weakens his AoE attacks by 50-100%), gives you a few turns of breathing room before he summons more adds and gives you said barrier. Even if the other adds might have more dangerous skills or passives, kill the matching barrier add to bypass them. You want them dead ASAP to not get caught by his full power AoEs if you can't guarantee a stagger before he pulls them off. Will make the 15 turn time limit a bit more feasible if you're clearing but having trouble with that. In regard to his status effects getting dropped, when he hits 75% and 35% HP he halves all active status effects on him and changes his pattern. Edit: Sunshower is iffy for this fight if running Potential Man strats. Once his passive has switched from Bereavement to the new one, Heathcliff stops losing sanity innately for damage. Learned that when Sunshower was at 37 sanity for several turns in a row.

Prime example at 2:36:00. If he had just looked towards the left and read his passive, it would have easily solved the fight and saved quite a bit of time.
Tbh I feel like I would make the decision Nelly makes. Like imaging watching two people close to you in several worlds not be together due to fear and then having them make life harder for you. So you just sorta give up and decide I am gonna fk stuff up cos I have no faith my version of these two would be different. Not saying I approve, but I understand. I also hope that her boss is not hermann but iori cos I kinda want even more groups to try to get the golden boughs.
So to summarize every canto Canto I : Revolves around gregors guilt and his "Sin" of being the only survivor on the war Canto II : Revolves around Rodya regret not being able to change anything and her "Sin" of her past mistake in the organization Canto III : Revolves around Sinclair unfortunate encounter with kromer leading to his hometown being destroyed and his "sin" of not being able to confront kromer overwhelming behavior Canto IV : Revolves around Yi sang emptiness because of the disbandedment of his group and not being able to fill his emptiness and his "sin" of pursuing pure knowledge Canto V : Revolves around ishmael using revenge as a meaning to her life and her "sin" of blindly follow ahab's orders Canto VI : Revolves around Heathcliff tragic love towards Cathy and his "sin" of not confronting his own feelings towards Cathy and simply ran away which causes Cathy lost her will to live. And that's about it Note : This summary is from my POV i might misinterpreted somethings here.
This canto really feels defeating since we've been getting the golden boughs for the past few cantos and pm really had to emphasize that not every sinner has a happy ending
Dude I watched a stream of this in a restaurant, particularly the end... The tears wouldn't stop flowing. This was an amazing Canto... Now I just need to grind and level up so I can actually clear all Cathy on my game..... I'm not ready....
It's a tragic tale, one suffers of the other, but they both love one another. So in the end, Cathy chose to disappear, with Heathcliff being the witness.
Cathy! I’m clearing you! 5%… 30%… 70%… 99%… ERROR: Cathy is forever, you can never clear her. Share with FIVE other T Corp employees or you will have bad luck forever!
The best thing about each of the Sinners singing “Pass On” is that the final message is the events of the Canto has given them just a little more strength to endure, that nothing’s over while they still live, and that they can share these memories with one another (so they’re not alone in their sorrows/victories) in the future yet to come.
I do understand the frustration with low sp fights, but they really do make you use ids like tanks who are there to tank bad clashes while you have your other damage carries fight off safer ones. You can also bring less ids to have a more chances at gaining SP. There's still rng without a doubt, but you can't just run a full aggro team and expect it to work for every fight. Anyways still love your vids man
Yeahhhhh, of course you can't..... Now, seriously, you can definitely bring a full aggro team and win. In fact I would argue it's the easiest way because the good clashes mean more sp which just makes every subsequent turn easier. Heck, as a proud full aggro team(W corp, R corp my beloveds) I only struggled with the SHIELD Heathcliff because I didn't read, and second try I just steamrolled.
In my humble opinion. Any "tank id" + 1 less sinner makes the fights really more bearable. Molar ish is a good choice due to the dodge and risky judgment lowerig sp and nMersault is good too, due to the counter +prot. And having someone like don with 2 slots is really good.
Vergilius believers (myself included) having a field day. Also yay finally caught up with all your LC vids,, I really should play LoR sometime since I've always thought it's been up my alley ever since before its release but I just. Haven't. All that Demian said in after credits scene was all a reference to "The Little Prince". I actually surprised how well the story of Heath and Cathy correlates with the story of Prince and rose that he raised.
I'm so satisfied with this Canto, waiting now for Don's one, I'm actually intrigued what they're gonna cook with her story.
I'm actually more afraid of what Don's story is. Like she has addressed that her fervor is not something she could control but only repress. She also had some serious moments when she sees the same fervor in the other SINNERS when it should not be.
She hero worships Fixers, has a collection of figurines and plays with them like dolls. But what I'm more concerned about is that Rocinante and Sancho are absent since we have met her.

This was effectively the Character growth canto.
Yeah.
Growing is not only about having a good ending.
It is also learning about living with the bad things that happened.
As to Heathcliff... he got the closure he needed. Basically, all this time he worried and feared that Catherine never loved him. That all the suffering he endured at the manor was pointless. Now he knows that they really did have a chance, but their failure to communicate messed it up. It doesn't make the pain of loss go away, but there's comfort in knowing that it wasn't alwawys doomed to fail. And that realization that he needs to be braver in his relationships will help him grow.
If Heath does get "revive Catherine" into his head, I expect he'll still try to become a better person so that if/when they meet again he won't make the same mistakes. And I doubt he'll become obssessed with the idea, even then. He's learned to not be chained to his past.
I also don't think he's going to be obsessed with it, because he only mentioned it once at the end of the canto, and its his new ego line. For such an ambitious goal, I was surprised how few times its mentioned.
Theres a parallel between his story and yesod.
Both is about "not bottling up your feelings", and is about how "you should express yourself, within reasonable limits"

At least Heathcliff can finally move forward now, I think... Before all this, he was trapped in the past like other Heathcliffs, filled with bitterness and self-hatred from his own upbringing. But unlike Hindley or Linton, he is the one who (With the help of Dante) can muster the courage to at least face his mistakes, determined to never running away from it anymore.
Not all problems will be fixed immediately, but he's now finally able to look forward. To confront Hermann's group and take the golden bough back. A goal not fueled by self-hatred or bitterness of the past but by his love for Cathy and desire for a better future. Sure, his path forward might be filled with a tempest of hardship and despair. But even so, just like the flower "Heath", he has the power to endure and overcome it.
TLDR; Just like with other sinners, their story arc never finished with their canto. Yi Sang has to stop N Corp from abusing his mirror. Gregor and Rodion still have to confront Hermann and Sonya. Sinclair and Ismael still growing and trying to find their own path. So my point is, that this is just the beginning for Heathcliff too. And let's be honest, we might not even end with Inferno if PM is still cooking this much with Limbus anyways.
We will get the Ensemble 2.0 at some point. Maybe after Faust's chapter.

In fairness to Heathcliff, Nelly’s being a massive hypocrite when she accuses him of being afraid to communicate with Catherine and vice versa.
Nelly burned Heathcliff’s letters. Communicating gets hard when some jackass is stopping you.
Nelly is pretty clearly an antagonist by the end of the Canto, I honestly think she's coping with the lack of control in her life, realizing that in every world her fate is to be a side character in the plot probably fucked with her, and when Heathcliff gives her control of her own story by letting her run Wuthering Heights Nelly doesn't even know what to do and has a break down. She has spent her whole life serving and being a servant to others she has no clue how to even approach independence.
I don't hate Nelly, her actions are a symptom of what she has gone through, she is flawed but not irredeemable.

Since PM likes keeping EVERYTHING canon, and there are no remaining Cathy identities in any Mirror Worlds that could be identities.
I checked Pequod Heathcliff’s defeat wail and the mention of Cathy is censored now, so I guess the only way we’re getting a Catherine ID is if Heathcliff decides to do a “Restore All Cathy” canto even though he only cares about his own Catherine

Realizing that Heath's reunion was completely off the table since part 1, and that he completed his arc by telling Cathy he loves her just before she gets DELETEd, and her saying she loves THIS Heathcliff for who he is, made me understand more of what the canto meant. His chance had passed. This is the best he was going to get. Especially after that bitch Nelly fucked everything up. It doesn't always work out. We need more stories like this.

Just saying Limbus is a game about rng management
Its about managing risk vs reward in fights.
I had so much fun with the fights because I had fun managing that rng.
The moment I saw Nellie's evade, I immediately knew to use defence offsetting. The moment I see an extremely punishing clash win effect that is neutral or favoured, I immediately blocked with my tank ID or use an ego like crows eye view or ribbons ego.
As a result I was rewarded, I won every single fight in the canto first try(use potentialman for fun on all fights). Barely any rng needed.
The one source of rng I will admit is overly unfair is speed because because you can get bricked in the final fight by it(I saw a streamer lose an hours worth of progress because of speed rng). But its easily counteracted by Ishmael's pink ribbons or by constantly binding the enemy(but that requires you knowing the mechanics of the fight of course).
I fought altcliff in part 2 several times for fun. I used burn teams, tremor teams, charge teams, envy teams. I won every single time even with bad rng. In my burn and envy run, my sinners were at 0 sp the entire time. But this is because I know how to manage my rng. I could easily win by tanking and taking good clashes. Never did I complain about rng, because there was barely any involved.
This is why when someone loses a fight in Limbus, most of the time I call it a skill issue. Because they bring in IDs and EGOs with barely any synergy and balance and clash every skill expecting to win and blame rng and blame the game when they dont win. They dont bring in Molar Ishmaels's base 10 evade(no rng needed btw at 0 sanity). They assume if they clash everything they will win, but a lot of the time the best ways to play to increase the chances of winning is to block, evade, use ego on other sinners, take losing clashes on other sinners to reduce dmg taken, etc.
I strongly feel that Limbus has really good gameplay because of the rng. The rng makes it fun because every fight feels so different from each other.
Just wanted to spread this message because I truly believe that Limbus has good gameplay and many people just really dont know how to play it

Reading, Planning, Deciding, and Executing is the best part of these games. The other half is the fun of trying to analyze the developer’s intentions

@@keku52 I think PM is having issues balancing the human/SP bosses when sinking is in play, on one hand, you need to make it so the godamn butler/maids, catholics and walking bush cant just make the bosses go imeaidate depresso expresso so the boss can actually roll heads. But the consequence of that is the bosses are as manic as Linton receiving a blowie from Cathy and roll ABSURDLY high turn 2. Not sure what they can do to mitigate that tbh, possibly reduce the sanity lost from sinking, or rework the sinking mechanic entirely but of course that'll be VERY costly.

I think it’s kind of funny how we wanted Heathcliff to have an EGO manifestation rather than distortion, but distortion doesn’t mean, “bad” and EGO manifestation doesn’t mean “good”, rather I think it’s more of a necessity for Heathcliff to go through the distortion as a part of his growth.

I think the reason Aseah was like "does this remind you of anything lmao" towards Gregor is because, well. It's almost a smoke, and there was a LOT of smoke during the Smoke War. It's "different in a few places" - as in, not actually the Old L Corp's Smoke - but it's still a sight similar enough to trigger Greg's 'Nam Flashbacks somewhat.

For peeps having trouble with 6-44, kill the add with the same barrier color as Erlking ASAP (i.e. if he has the purple barrier, kill the purple barrier add) to neutralize his barrier, hit him with Deep Bereavement and kill the other adds in one go. Also neutralizes some of his stuff(weakens his AoE attacks by 50-100%), gives you a few turns of breathing room before he summons more adds and gives you said barrier.
Even if the other adds might have more dangerous skills or passives, kill the matching barrier add to bypass them. You want them dead ASAP to not get caught by his full power AoEs if you can't guarantee a stagger before he pulls them off. Will make the 15 turn time limit a bit more feasible if you're clearing but having trouble with that.
In regard to his status effects getting dropped, when he hits 75% and 35% HP he halves all active status effects on him and changes his pattern.
Edit: Sunshower is iffy for this fight if running Potential Man strats. Once his passive has switched from Bereavement to the new one, Heathcliff stops losing sanity innately for damage. Learned that when Sunshower was at 37 sanity for several turns in a row.

The best thing about each of the Sinners singing “Pass On” is that the final message is the events of the Canto has given them just a little more strength to endure, that nothing’s over while they still live, and that they can share these memories with one another (so they’re not alone in their sorrows/victories) in the future yet to come.
After the hype has gone down a bit, I'm kinda scared for Don now since hers is coming up.

I do understand the frustration with low sp fights, but they really do make you use ids like tanks who are there to tank bad clashes while you have your other damage carries fight off safer ones. You can also bring less ids to have a more chances at gaining SP. There's still rng without a doubt, but you can't just run a full aggro team and expect it to work for every fight.

Now, seriously, you can definitely bring a full aggro team and win. In fact I would argue it's the easiest way because the good clashes mean more sp which just makes every subsequent turn easier.
Heck, as a proud full aggro team(W corp, R corp my beloveds) I only struggled with the SHIELD Heathcliff because I didn't read, and second try I just steamrolled.

Molar ish is a good choice due to the dodge and risky judgment lowerig sp and nMersault is good too, due to the counter +prot.
And having someone like don with 2 slots is really good.
