Don't worry esgoo, I'm sure Horse Gregor will be a meta-defining 4 star identity with coin power and the first identity with multiply coins. After all, any companion to such a brave and daring knight shan't go without their own sheen of brilliance!
About pequod heathcliff's missing hp conditionals, never have I felt such a high as when in the pequod trio fight in railway 3 my heathcliff survived on exactly 1 hp and proceeded to absolutely murder both that fight and gasharpoon after it
Also I know you talk about trying not to overestimate new IDs to avoid hyping them too hard, but Ishmael's segment REALLY should have been about the absolutely insane world-shattering power and consistency of Zwei Sunset-haired Saber.
If you value damage, she isn't the best tank. Over the course of a fight, she will do less damage than HarpoonCliff or Dieci Rodion because most of her skills (minus ofc the S3) lack insane numbers or any form of damage bonuses. She also often will spend a turn guarding instead of attacking. However, there's something to be said about the insane ease of use to Zweimael. She can clash well basically every turn, and can reach her peak damage without hardly any effort. When actually taking damage, I'd rather have Dieci's thick shield, but with Zweimael you can just avoid taking damage altogether.
@@sealyaggington7488 Yeah, she doesn't need all that damage when she has arguably the best defense skill in the game. That guard can help get enemies staggered, clashes way better than you'd think, can even burst reverb under the right circumstances, makes you all but stagger immune and near-instantly lets her Ward the shit out of anything you don't want to see anymore.
Fun fact: in order to do a math essay, me and a friend made a damage calculator to figure out who can, theoretically, do the most damage. It was BL Meursault. With 233k. Yeah he gets a bit silly.
Zwei Ishmael is absolutely incredible. High tankiness, stagger protection, good clashing for a defensive ID and above all the best redirect in the game have made her my favorite ID in the game. Before that was Dieci Rodion (unga bunga, also fucks up the damn bull like none other). I love the aesthetic (big ass sword) and the sound design (big ass thwack). Her skill 3 hits like a freight train considering we're looking at a defensive ID. You can slap her onto any team and she'll do good work, even better when she's with either tremor IDs or Zwei Gregor and Faust. She has me very excited for non-fraud Zwei Sinclair.
Tested her on my second attempt on RR4, she goddamned tanked almost all the enemies EGOs while the other got staggered and then hit them with her godly greatsword Her S3 really hits like a high speed freight on loose tracks
Sloshing Ishmael died for not only your sins and ESGOO's sins, but the sins of every other non-base Ishmael ID. So long as Sloshmael exists and is an order of magnitude worse than every other Ishmael, all Ishmaels will be good at SOMETHING (even if Maidmael is mostly just a Sinking support passive on legs).
Her damage over the course of a fight isn't actually as high as the likes of Dieci Rodion or HarpoonCliff, but I 100% understand if you prefer the consistent clashing and ease of use of Zweimael.
‘The strongest ID’s in history vs the strongest ID’s of today’ will be a line used in this video Edit: I was wrong. Now it’s time for my head to burst. Good day!
@Nightfallme the quote "the strongest X in history vs the strongest X of today" is directly from jujutsu kaisen, and it's a parody of the line "The strongest sorcerer of today vs the strongest sorcerer in history," in reference to Gojo vs Sukuna
Check again. Look how the legs bend more like horse legs than wolf legs, and how the neck is pointed upward like a horse rather than forward or downwards like a wolf. So yeah, doggo-ish but still honse.
@@kairo3201 It's weird, it's like some kind of weird hybrid. But once again it DOES have the claws, which you can see especially in lighter environments.
@PosterityIslesNews I can see that. She's tanky and hit hard. But most new players won't have Red Eyes Ryoshu until the next Walpurgist. So, Warp Ryoshu is an alternative choice until they get Red Eyes Ryoshu.
Honestly, Ringsang is... a weird case. Is he strong? Yep. Is he absolutely OP? Yeah. But that attributes not to his exact kit per say, but to the fact that he's literally mechanically broken. What I mean is, PM did an oopsie by giving him a conditional on S2 that just doesn't exist with how easy it is to fulfil even outside of a bleed/mixed team. For those who don't know, the "haha I fcking hate Yi Sang" message mentioned was actually them attempting to fix it by making Ringsang's S2 conditional into... well, a *conditional*, also give his S3 a dynamic damage adjustment. But sadly, this was nipped in the bud because people got whiny about it despite the fact they wouldn't even lose anything. His S1 and S3 are strong, yeah, but not overly so. And I think if PM went through with the nerf, Ringsang would be on Lament Yi Sang's level or above right now, where tbh he actually should be.
Thankfully we don't seem to be getting an influx of IDs that are on par with Ring Yi Sang's power (at least not until they're at max strength), so him causing absurd powercreep hopefully won't be an issue.
The changes were also nipped in the bud because of the precedent it would set. Nerfs in a gacha game are a VERY touchy subject, and that's putting it lightly. Like think of the morality/legality for a moment. People pay money to roll for this unit, luck out and get the unit, motivated partially by the unit's power, and then the company can theoretically lower the unit's power, or just nerf it into the ground. Now, I don't think the proposed changes are a big deal, but it's a precedent that gacha companies in general want to avoid.
@@meeszijlstra5426this. No matter how PM slices it, fact is that they basically shot themselves in the foot with some ID kits and no one's gonna like if the ID they spent money and resources for gets nerfed. IMO the best way to tackle this is when uptie 5 rolls around, since it's once again gonna give an opportunity for weaker IDs to catch up
I run a 5 man Sinking Team, had to slot him in because Don needs to be ran in the current Canto (I literally have 0 3 000 Don Id) HE CAN OUTDAMAGE WILDHUNT HEATHCLIFF... IN FUCKING CHAIN BATTLES WHERE WILDCLIFF SHINES
@@meeszijlstra5426 From what you say, the main issue pertains to those who spent money to roll for Ringsang because he's OP (those who got him for non-gameplay reasons would, obviously, have much less issue with the nerfs). However, if we're talking about that topic, then it's important to take into consideration the other factors as well: 1) Those players would get 250 boxes as a compensation, which equals to getting any 000 ID in the game, including some of the most OP ones, entirely for free. And that's while keeping Ringsang who would still, as I say, be on a higher power level. 2) As you said, this is something that gacha games avoid. Why? Because in other games of that genre, gacha is, give or take, the *only* method of getting a character. However, limbus is different in that regard as you have an ability to get IDs outside of gacha, by using resources that you can earn in-game with little to no issue. In that regard, limbus is closer to live service games which have characters that you can buy with in-game resources (and donate for) get balance changes or even reworks. Of course, one could speak of genre differences, but the core is the same. That's why I think it would be entirely viable if PM would go through with those "nerfs" and that the player base massively overreacted, leading to us having a mechanically broken unit that should not be like that in the first place.
At some point in Dawnclair section I began reading "Waxing Prion state". That might explain why his sanity is hard to manage, his brain is ridden with prion disease, leading him to bouts of several mental diseases at the same time.
And important reminder for newbies, most of the IDs shown here can be sharded for free at any time Ring Yi Sang: always available W Corp Don: always available W Corp Ryoshu: always available Blade Lineage Meursault: always available Dieci Hong Lu: always available Captain Ishmael: always available Dieci Rodion: always available Cinq Sinclair: always available N Corp Sinclair: always available Molar Outis: always available Regret Faust, Red Eyes Ryoshu, and Dawn Office Sinclair are only available during Walpurgisnacht, but just farming up 400 of their shards and waiting for the inevitable WP event will guarantee that you get them this season (also shard Regret Meursault, it's an ego, but still fucking insane) Multicrack Faust and Wild Hunt Heathcliff sadly can't be sharded until next season, but can still be pulled/sparked on their respective sinner banners if you're dedicated (that's how I got Captain Ishmael)
Pulling on Heathcliff's banner would be the smart move since even if you don't get Wild Hunt, there are MANY other good Heathcliff 000 IDs you could get. Faust really doesn't have many good IDs to aim for, so using your resources in hopes of getting one specific 000 unit amidst a lot of mediocre ones isn't great odds.
I'm a relatively new player (Initially played for only few hours at anniversary but returned last week) and I was wondering if it would be worth it to shard Captain Ishmael, Harpoon Heathcliff and Blind obsession. Literally for no other reason other than they all look cool to me. I'd still get Fluid Sack for Faust first since I've heard its a very good ego but I wasn't sure if I'd be wasting my shards on getting those above. I just beat Canto IV if that means anything.
@@Thunderdroceon Harpoon Heathcliff is a very good ID to shard for, and is one of his best IDs. Captain Ishmael is difficult to use due to her unique SP loss mechanic. Every time an ally kills something above her current level, she loses 10 SP. This doesn't make her a bad ID, in fact she's more than capable of dealing with many things, but she isn't the easiest to use and does require a bit more attention than the standard ID. Blind Obsession is a VERY good EGO, and will help significantly when running Railway 4 if you get there before it closes (which you should be able to since new Railways usually open about halfway through a season.)
I'm realizing now that Wildhunt is actually the RM page in design. You start in a weaker form where you have to babysit a little, then after a couple good turns you turn into a monster that gets stronger and stronger as you get more and more kill, gaining a mass attack, and having a conditional that lowers your sanity if you can't find a target to beat up.
Wild Hunt Heathcliff is basically Mountain of Smiling Bodies if you think about it. Weak at the start, fiends off corpses, grows exponentially stronger and becomes a menace to society by the end of it.
@@davidoshare-su4hn Mountain of Smiling Bodies is from LobCorp, aka Limbus -2 (or if you're brainrotted to hell and back like I am, Item Asylum, since that's how I first heard of it). It's one of the abnormalities you can pick, being of the highest risk level (aka you would start seeing it around the middle of the game).
I will not stand for this Edgregor slander. Reminder that he's the only ID with plus coin boost on hit rather than kill. And it's uncapped. Use Solemn Lament with +6 coin power and experience the highest euphoria this game has to offer.
A dev really loves Heathcliff since other than having one of the most solid base IDs he has consistently been getting some of the best ones throughout the games lifespan
Dieci Meursault got massive buffs in Canto 7. Unbreakable coins are pretty common on some enemies, with the highest I've seen being an attack with THREE unbreakable coins on it and four total coins. Given that very specific, fact, Dieci Meursault is actually currently competitive with BLsault, as his ability to just perpetually provide shields to Rodion and Hong Lu (when he needs it) gives a lot more staying power. Atop this, he's just plain good at clashing. For literally all other content, it's no contest, BLsault is just *better*. But with the sheer volume of unavoidable damage being thrown around at points in Canto 7, Diecisault's ability to mitigate it gains a ton of value.
Except for the fact that BL Meursault can straight up negate death thanks to Swordplay of the Homeland. It might only be once per turn, but he can absolutely refuse to die if need-be so long as you have a Pride-based team.
@@lordpumpkinhead265 BLsault can for himself. Diecisault can for himself, hong lu, and rodion, letting the three of them throw themselves at unbreakable coins with, in two cases reckless abandon, and in hong lu's case, better results than normal.
I genuinely really like Dieci Meursault. He's definitely not as busted as the other Dieci IDs but he's still really fun to use when you learn how to play around his erudition mechanic.
9:04 "And if you ever reach 0 SP or below you're back to being a boy failure once again being plagued with memories of those good times in highschool where you hit your peak" ...I didn't need a day full of regret that I'm still alive, thank you.
I love doing solo runs with wh heathcliff. Get rags and grey coat, and congrats! You have just made an immortal super soldier with several nuclear bombs on his person every other turn. You can just one shot enemies turn 2, it’s fucking ridiculous and I love it.
I'll always advocate for Maid Ryoshu being the most solid ID. Ever since it's release it has been my go to Ryoshu ID against Abnormalities due to how her Evasion works. It also unironically helped me understand how Evasion works, how you gotta point at the first skill used in multi-enemy battles and how it completely nullifies certain enemy skills that'd just kill you by simply "not clashing". Using her Evasion on the first turn to essetially skip it and then restart it with max SP and 2 Skill slots is fantastic and it probably makes her the best "Soloist" and the most safe option for fighting thinhs such as Walpurgisnacht events (Altought she can't 100% the first one). I do hear people say she doesn't deal that much dmg compared to W.Corp or Spider, which makes sense for a self-sustaining poise ID, imagine she had a D.D.E.R. with a natural 1.2x Dmg mult., it'd be pretty dumb. Regardless, she still has the easiest conditional AoE Skill and an S3 that clashes well and hits for not so much lower than D.D.E.R. & Serious Skullbuster. I'll also leave a honorable mention for BL Yi Sang for being a good ID even before Kim Mersault was a thing and 7Faust for having one of the most consistent S2 I ever tried and also being really funny after you grab Thunderbranch++ on MD.
• While I haven't finished watching the video (duh) I just want to say that the three best ways to tell if an ID is going to be busted is 1: ridiculous coin amounts 2: coin reuse and 3: attack weight (Think about every overpowered/most strong IDs in the game and they all have at least one of these three descriptions.) (Also, every Walpurgisnacht 3 star except Red Eyes Ryoshu [and she makes that up with roll power] fills these conditions, hmm....) Edit: now that I've watched more of the video, I'd like to add one more condition: the ability to take damage AND benefit with something from taking that damage. Dieci Rodya gets blunt damage up, Queecliff gets 1% more damage up to 99%, BL Meur makes Claim Their Bones into Claim Their Entire Skeletons. (Zweishmael might actually dodge all four conditions, her only real thing is that she is incredibly tanky while also having great damage/rolls extremely easily)
You forgot about having ridiculously high damage bonus conditionals. That's why Zweimael's s3 is strong (though I always like to remind people that she tends to do less damage over the course of a fight than Dieci and HarpoonCliff).
@@sealyaggington7488 • Yeah, ESGOO mentioned that too and its definitely there on the strong IDs too, practically all of them have some way to get extra damage to be honest
I think as time goes on "strong/uniquely useful defense skills" might get added to the list. I know that, at the very least, Zweishmael and Huntkliff have playstyles that almost always revolve around their Power Guard/Clash Counter and the buffs it gives them.
This is unacceptable Zwei Ishmael slander. I will not stand for this. (Brought to you by the Zwei Ishmael solo gang) (Also love the video, see you in canto 7!)
on the point of "use whatever you want", there's a whole swathe of pretty decent 2 star tremor IDs that work fine together. hell, sinclair has 3 two star tremor IDs now, and at least 2 of them can actually contribute. The only ego they really care about is effervescent rodion for t corp and like, maybe regret if you still use rosespanner mersault like me, and they'll do railway just fine.
Tremor NEEDS Cavernous Wailing to even function these days, let's be fully real. If you want a budget team, do Bleed or Poise, or, if you're MD only, do Burn cuz Glimpse is broken
Butler Ryoshu might not be the strongest ID but it is still my most used one, limbus is very versatile and unless you specifically go out of your way to only use the weakest id's you can use whatever you want and succeed.
I literally just started playing limbus, rolled for love on red eyes ryoshu, 0 clue she was good, and got her and multicrack faust, only to then find out they are 2 of the very best Id's in the game, but this video helped me really understand why, and thats pretty cool Also as a newbie i think it would be really cool if Esgoo did one of these for 00 id's, since they are way easier to obtain/stumble into
Yeah people sleep on 00s. They're nowhere near as flashy/silly as the 000s, but they're easy to invest in and help those 000s get to their ridiculous max potential. Hell, some 00s are just as if not sometimes more foundational to their archetypes than similar 000s (Seven Heathcliff/Lantern Don for Rupture, BL Don for the BL team, Ring Outis for bleed and MidSault for Envy Resonance come to mind). Even some of the less essential ones still have some neat traits which make them fun to use (West ZweiClair can keep a team grounded with his EGOs, Rosespanner Mersault and Yurodivy Ryoshu are fun tremor supports, W Faust, W Hong Lu and Crack Heathcliff are great charge supports, and KK Gregor can do some funny debuffs/heal the team with Garden of Thorns if you're feeling extra silly). Unless you're intentionally sifting through the garbage and investing in, like, Sloshmael, Chef Greg, old Zweiclair or the like, you could probably carry a team of 00s through every bit of content the game has to offer, which is one of my favorite parts about Limbus. You don't _need_ to have the best stuff in the game to see everything the game has to offer, but that stuff's there if you wanna flex/have a power trip.
@@aegisScaleIm thinking of doing a sinking MD run with Dieci Yi Sang instead of Solemn Lament/Spicebush just because I wanna have some fun doing synergy with my other Dieci IDs and im tired of SL always stealing the spotlight. Hell, thats not even his best 00 ID and it still has a use case, however niche it may be, and thats the best part
Back when I started playing this game, I saw you call out “charge bias”. It entertained me greatly. So I saved for Don and her sparkly pole. To this day, I enjoy my warp team. The next season might comparatively crush her into ruby dust. But she will be the last to fall, and pole in hand she won't go down without a fight!
Gregor is one of 4 (Now 3) sinners with 1 id short… so he’s definitely getting something this season My main worry is he gets 2 starred cus please he needs some id treatment like Devyat Rodya, Maidenless Heathcliff and Zwei Ishy. We need a 2 pager for Gregor
I love being a new player and not fully understanding how the game works, makes it fun to find out I rolled the best character in the game in my first 10 pull. We love Ring Yi Sang out in these streets
"the hard work of queueing a defense skill every once in a while which no other sinner does" This is how you know ESGOO hasn't actually used Zwei Ish that much yet.
14:40 jihoon's also gone on record saying that hes planning to add more unavoidable damage to limbus company's enemy design iirc, so a little bit of tankiness will probably be quite helpful to have
@@spidey5558 based on canto 7, it seems like jihoon's leaning into the unbreakable coins as the main form of unavoidable damage, so clashing will be good since it reduces the coin power of the unbreakable coins, plus we've already seen unbreakable coins with "on clash win or unopposed" conditionals, so denying those will be important as well
OOOHHH thank god T Corp Don is actually said to be good i thought it's just my favoritism for her but no she's good :D And yippe my (avaiable) Yi Sang and Ishmael IDs are good too
Edgar Family Heir Gregor's numbers are wrong in this video. He has both coin and clash power conditionals, and his rolls are 15/20/19 with all conditionals fulilled.
When I first started this game I did a single 10 pull and I got ncorp on my first and I never really knew he was that good yeah he does a lot of damage but I thought they were better ones
I don't know why you didn't talk about G corp Gregor, he's clearly one of the best in the game! I mean, every bug spits out 300 lunacy, and that guy is like 80% bug, so you can just milk him for 240 lunacy on demand. He can't be killed either, so you can just keep hitting him until lunacy falls out again and again. Crackcliff wishes he had that kind of resource gain for the team.
RCliff is surprisingly good in RR4 (Ofc, it's a nobrainer to fun Wildhunt there), but RCliff works well. A lot of the good buffs in RR4 is after the 6th Slot; So you can stuff RCliff into the speed slot, open with a fucking Quick Supression on an annoying unit you want off the battle. Then just kinda let him die, or use a Kings of Bind and just again let him die and be replaced. Quick Suppression should be able to 1 shot any ID in the game (Unless they're really tanky and resistant to pierce); It's how I dealt with that NClair that usually starts with a Self Destructing Purge, an unopposed Quick Suppression.
@@RelentlessStabbingGoBrrr... yes, that's the point you replace RCliff with another unit; It's taking advantage of the Chain Battle system You don't make him stick for 5 turns; He takes one unit out, maybe 2 or 3, then you make him die
@@RelentlessStabbingGoBrrr ... Then why are we arguing about this? You clearly don't play RR There's a slot that bumps a sinner's speed up, you put RCorp Heathcliff there; His Quick Supression will almost always kill a sinner. Him being fragile is also an upside, because in the buffs after slot 6 is alway going to be better. His huge upside is that RCliff, unlike WildCliff needs no setup; It's why RCliff is still used in Low Turn Count runs in RR4. As an example, in part 2 of RR4 there's a NSinclair of loves doing S3 right off rip; So a good answer to this is burst him down with a Quick Suppression.
This is a perfect release day for this video since season 5 will start in just a few hours. It also means that this vid will get out dated very quickly.
the saddest part about edgar greg is the fact he, probably has one of the shittiest support passives in the game like genuinely so agonizingly shit i keep having to switch to zwei when i have to switch to other ids constantly, or use him on every fight
@@noishfanboy1141 bloodied hand take a WHILE to ramp up unless you solo with him (which leads to more slots, more skills uses, one bloodied hand) His archetype is being a tank, he has an insane health pool and one stagger threshold, he also has a passive that makes him immortal for a turn if he took lethal damage (so the main idea is to get the stagger threshold removed early). As a bloodfiend id, he's a bloodfeast generator due to his insane self bleed. Using skill 1 and 2 allows him to get bloodied hand and ailing heart (shield gives 3 ailing heart). The more ailing heart the more life steal he has on hit but also makes his Sp healing passive work less. Only After getting 30 bloodied hand do you usually want to use that skill 3 (even better if he's not at full hp for the exra damage buff) because it makes it deal, SHIT tons of damage while also healing gregor practically to max.
now that princess rodya is out, how does she compare to dieci rodya? imo princess rodya's better because she basically deals the same amount of damage while also giving out really good support in the form of defense level up, and more importantly *attack power up*.

Tested her on my second attempt on RR4, she goddamned tanked almost all the enemies EGOs while the other got staggered and then hit them with her godly greatsword
Her S3 really hits like a high speed freight on loose tracks
Sloshing Ishmael died for not only your sins and ESGOO's sins, but the sins of every other non-base Ishmael ID. So long as Sloshmael exists and is an order of magnitude worse than every other Ishmael, all Ishmaels will be good at SOMETHING (even if Maidmael is mostly just a Sinking support passive on legs).
Her damage over the course of a fight isn't actually as high as the likes of Dieci Rodion or HarpoonCliff, but I 100% understand if you prefer the consistent clashing and ease of use of Zweimael.

Kim vs Erlking please?
IMO the best way to tackle this is when uptie 5 rolls around, since it's once again gonna give an opportunity for weaker IDs to catch up
I run a 5 man Sinking Team, had to slot him in because Don needs to be ran in the current Canto (I literally have 0 3 000 Don Id)
HE CAN OUTDAMAGE WILDHUNT HEATHCLIFF...
However, if we're talking about that topic, then it's important to take into consideration the other factors as well:
1) Those players would get 250 boxes as a compensation, which equals to getting any 000 ID in the game, including some of the most OP ones, entirely for free.
Incredible to upload this video right before the release of season 5

Multicrack Faust and Wild Hunt Heathcliff sadly can't be sharded until next season, but can still be pulled/sparked on their respective sinner banners if you're dedicated (that's how I got Captain Ishmael)
@@lordpumpkinhead265 Thanks a ton! I'll definitely be getting them then once I'm able to.
can you shard the ids that come out on their walpurgis?
I'm realizing now that Wildhunt is actually the RM page in design. You start in a weaker form where you have to babysit a little, then after a couple good turns you turn into a monster that gets stronger and stronger as you get more and more kill, gaining a mass attack, and having a conditional that lowers your sanity if you can't find a target to beat up.

@@aegisScale Only 3 times per encounter ? You're trying to gaslight me.
45:19 Oh man, that's some crazy foreshadowing..
• While I haven't finished watching the video (duh) I just want to say that the three best ways to tell if an ID is going to be busted is 1: ridiculous coin amounts 2: coin reuse and 3: attack weight (Think about every overpowered/most strong IDs in the game and they all have at least one of these three descriptions.) (Also, every Walpurgisnacht 3 star except Red Eyes Ryoshu [and she makes that up with roll power] fills these conditions, hmm....)
Edit: now that I've watched more of the video, I'd like to add one more condition: the ability to take damage AND benefit with something from taking that damage.

And then he keels over and dies if he gets so much as a single Bleed Count
Butler Ryoshu might not be the strongest ID but it is still my most used one, limbus is very versatile and unless you specifically go out of your way to only use the weakest id's you can use whatever you want and succeed.
I literally just started playing limbus, rolled for love on red eyes ryoshu, 0 clue she was good, and got her and multicrack faust, only to then find out they are 2 of the very best Id's in the game, but this video helped me really understand why, and thats pretty cool
Also as a newbie i think it would be really cool if Esgoo did one of these for 00 id's, since they are way easier to obtain/stumble into
Yeah people sleep on 00s.

Besides section 1, I found myself running RCliff quite a bit (and I'm doing low turn clears between 40-45 turns long).
@@RelentlessStabbingGoBrrr... yes, that's the point you replace RCliff with another unit; It's taking advantage of the Chain Battle system
You don't make him stick for 5 turns; He takes one unit out, maybe 2 or 3, then you make him die
@@RelentlessStabbingGoBrrr ... Then why are we arguing about this? You clearly don't play RR
There's a slot that bumps a sinner's speed up, you put RCorp Heathcliff there; His Quick Supression will almost always kill a sinner.
