13:02 I actually wonder if the intention with the time travel room was always that the power of who you meet there can be scaled in some way. In the original Japanese version, the idea they’re sent to fight these Saiyans who just happen to be half the power of a “normal” Saiyan is odd. What were these extra weak Saiyans, when Raditz, from what we know, was already weaker than a typical Saiyan was before almost all of them died in the anime continuity? If it’s just part of how the room works, that might also explain the weirdness with Master Mutaito’s power scaling before. 14:56 hear me out, how about being nerfed, since they were there because King Kai asked for a favor? (Enma's magic, Kaioh's planet gravity, something...)
1:48 I don't see any issue with this scene. You forgot that Shen was able to hurt Goku, even if Goku didn't fight back he shouldn't even be bruised. It depends on how much time passed between this and the Piccolo fight as they should be rusty if they were below Prime Piccolo level. In regards to Super Perfect Cell and Pikkon whatever tf, no, you got it wrong. Vegeta is talking about Gohan when he's mad, which is a rage boost. Basically SS2 Goku>Hypothetical max Rage Amped SS2 CG Gohan>Rage Amped SS2 CG Gohan (Half of his Ki gone)>Pikkon>Super Perfect Cell>SS2 Gohan (No rage amps, the same Gohan who got HALF of his ki drained)
Either the filler in DB is super unmemorable or my memory is worse than I thought. I remembered the filler with Tien and the one with the clone, but none of the others pre-Z.
Goku time traveling to hang out with Mutaito is pretty memorable. The Chi Chi's wedding dress arc is memorable just due to being the last episodes of the show.
I like to think that power levels scale exponentially instead of linearly like most people think. So someone with a power level of 1,000,000 is only twice as strong as someone with 100,000 instead of 10x.
But Yurazah! Kid me really wanted to know the power level of that guy from the orphanage filler who took gohan home. Adult me would also like to know.🥺
despite how nonsensical the power up for tien yamcha & chaotzu it makes them do something than to be irrelevant throughout the rest of the series in fact this is the last fight they have unless you count tien in buu saga
Mutaito being able to curbstomp Kid Goku is crazy BS considering that the same Goku killed the DKP that Mutaito got slaughtered by on several occasions
@ Either that or the Mutaito Goku boxed was an illusion with far greater strength then Goku, allowing the sheer gap in skill to be made apparent. Mutaito fought DKP multiple times IIRC, and Piccolo just stomped, fresh or tired, regardless
its so weird how in the og, having a gap in powerlevel of less than 10 basically means u get one shot, while in Z they can be thousands of levels stronger and still lose.
Wait wasn't mutaito weaker than prime king picolo? I know that Power levels can be inconsistent but have low power with mastery tecniques can be really advantagious especially dealing with young imature level experiencie fighters
1:15 no it's actually extremely consistent with what we know since Roshi with 139 is moon to small planet level while Goku with a 10 wasn't even bulletproof(while on guard) 2:12 that is horrendous pamput isn't even a 10 this is so bad.
If you want to make sense of the Ark then take into account that it took multiple months before Goku and King Kai decided to go visit the grandkids during that time Goku was training along snake way with King Kai so chances are Goku's physical power to easily have doubled if not triple before they met the the Grand Kai
Unpopular opinion: people like to disregard canonicity or think it doesn't matter, but it's in fact the fillers that are guilty of everyone starting to think that powerlevels are BS
Not that it was that compelling a filler story in the first place but having Goku steamroll Mutaito would be pretty lame and make little sense, power levels are just crap in the first place.
What about the villains get a huge debuff when they die. It could explain the Ginyue Force and Cell Filler. This also could explain how they even get them to stay in hell
Z did a good job at hyping up the humans as a race. It showed that the earthlings can improve just as much or more than any sayian they just need the same type of training
I'm surprised you didn't mention the filler content when Goku and Vegeta were inside Buu as that too makes no sense. Goku should not be able to beat ultimate Gohan in base considering he surpassed SSJ3 Goku's power
Mutaito wasn't necessarily weaker than King Piccolo. From what we saw in the anime, unlike Goku, he had to fight hundreds of Piccolo's minions before fighting Piccolo himself. And since Piccolo was still young each minion would've been around the same level as Drum.
Some inconsistencies in your video too. Goku can not be more than 40 in episode 1. So 4 times stronger than farmer with a shotgun absolute max… there were a few other problems, but I waited until the end and now I forget lol
You know there is another reason why master Muto didn't kill King Piccolo if he actually had the power to defeat Goku it actually because he knew about Kami add King Piccolo connection and knew if he killed King Piccolo he'd be killing the guardian of Earth as well so instead of killing him he sealed him away. But I guess that didn't cross your mind 😔.
The trick with otherworld is to make cell much weaker rather than make goku much stronger. It is stated that only good people are allowed to keep their power in other world so cell is just massively weaker in other world and didn't realize it.
I know you didn’t just say Toriyama does a great job keeping the facts straight 😂 him and George Lucas are probably the two absolute worst creators when it comes to keeping consistency with their already established lore from the past. Especially with power levels for Toriyama.
@@yurazah I think he’s always been more concerned with narrative than he was about making good power scaling. Frieza saga Goku and Vegeta get zenkai boosts worth more than 10x during the later fights after it was established that they only get about a 1.25x boost earlier on. And then starting with everything post frieza saga they just don’t get Zenkai boosts at all. He’s all over the place. Can’t wait for your next video.
While I definitely agree Goku letting his guard down is exaggerated in Super but he definitely let his guard down in OG dragon ball like in his fight against piccolo and radditz
You might have said it in the video or someone else might have mentioned this but powerlevels are not supposed to make sense. That is one of the underlying messages of DBZ. you cannot quantify the value and potential of people with a number.
"Toriyama does a great job keeping all the facts straight" yeah cuz he pulled them from his ass as needed! No hate, that was just his thing! Also power levels are meant to be BS, as a way to show that the Freeza Force's numbers don't really mean anything.
I really like Pikkon and i think him being that strong makes sense. We dont know how long hes been there although its implied hes been there for awhile. Like maybe longer since Gokus been alive i mean people dont age in other world soooo
I respectfully disagree in regard to King Vegeta. The verbal statements about Bardock being close to 10,000 and that would put him uncomfortably close to the King's level. Vegeta IV even says he surpassed his dad as a kid, and while he wasn't training at this point, he did mature, so he probably got noticeably stronger as he grew. I would put King Vegeta III around 12,000 to make sense out of all these statements.
8:02 Goku isn’t faster than light as he probably grabbed Roshi’s glasses before Tein launched the solar flare and it is consistent with Mr. Popo’s statement with being still as the skies and faster than lightning do you even read or watch the show? Edit: I’m making this edit because there are idiots that don’t realize that solar flare is only useful if there is no ways to prevent light from hitting your eyes or the opponent doesn’t know about the move as it takes a least three seconds to come out during the 22nd world martial arts tournament as it takes the user to put there hands up to there face say solar flare and a brief moment later it activates, you blind idots Edit number 2: the filer for the original dragon ball is considered canon by the author which means it is canon Edit number 3: Goku during the red ribbon army arc is at 105 you said during your first power levels video and he needs to aim dodge lightning blast from the jigelr he couldn’t have been FTL during his fight with tenshinhon if his power level wasn’t way over 305 which he does when he is a adult at over 400.

No, I did math ti figure out how big the boost needs to be tp make gotenks slightly stronger than super buu, my conclusion was that the dance is x2500 and potara is x3000 (as it's stated to be superior)
Right at the beginning I know this video is AWESOME, saying Goku is twice as strong as "farmer with shotgun" at the beginning of the series is just stupid, and they had that number when they wrote these guidebooks. Power scaling in general is a pretty silly endeavor, especially with DB considering how flighty and inconsistent Toriyama is (which he would admit on his own, constantly). If Toriyama had been exposed to the modern discourse regarding DB power levels, I honestly think he wouldn't even bother with any statements, it's just so frustrating to see people take these little throwaway lines and use them to beat people over the head about it.

In the whole franchise not only the fillers ! 😅
Yep
Your memory is worse than you thought, I somehow remembered all of the filler from OG Dragon Ball, and I watched all that stuff when I was a kid
My headcannon was that Goku was 180 during all those 3 years. He trained his tail weakness. But he wasn't trained by a teacher or mentor.
0:55
It's a gag anime, the entire thing is inconsistent (except for running gags) for the sake of laughs
Hey, what would be DB filler if it made any sense
I mean, it's not like power levels make sense in canon either, they not making sense in filler is not surprising.
It makes SOME sense in canon. The filler is where shit hits the fan.
You made a lot of good points. Good video 👍
Neither do them in canon TBH
I like to think that power levels scale exponentially instead of linearly like most people think. So someone with a power level of 1,000,000 is only twice as strong as someone with 100,000 instead of 10x.
But Yurazah!
Kid me really wanted to know the power level of that guy from the orphanage filler who took gohan home.
Adult me would also like to know.🥺
0:00 what We Gotta Power remix is this?
its just the instrumental version
Wrong he did let his guard down, he let it against picolo
8:50 Mutaito just laying on pure skill.
Do Heroes power levels if you want an aneurysm
12:48
That's interesting
I always remember the line as them being twice as strong as Raditz, not half as strong
Great content, buddy
2:15 fist of the north star mentioned pls make a video
despite how nonsensical the power up for tien yamcha & chaotzu it makes them do something than to be irrelevant throughout the rest of the series in fact this is the last fight they have unless you count tien in buu saga
Gohan genocided Garlic JRs entire race.
True
@@yurazahThanks for taking my video suggestion.
Yo guys dragon ball dima episode 12 ssj3 vageta
Is know canon
Loving the Legacy of Goku Trilogy music.
I'm happy the series abandoned power levels. I always thought power levels were questionable. But I enjoyed the recap of filter episodes
Mutaito being able to curbstomp Kid Goku is crazy BS considering that the same Goku killed the DKP that Mutaito got slaughtered by on several occasions
Mutaito must have been worn out by battling waves upon waves of DKP's spawn before their final confrontation. That's probably the only explanation.
Because power levels are bs
Bc it's about how much stronger you are compare to opponent, not how big is your pl compare to your opponent
Annin being a filler is a crime
Wait wasn't mutaito weaker than prime king picolo? I know that Power levels can be inconsistent but have low power with mastery tecniques can be really advantagious especially dealing with young imature level experiencie fighters
Power Levels in Dragon Ball in general Make No Sense
1:15 no it's actually extremely consistent with what we know since Roshi with 139 is moon to small planet level while Goku with a 10 wasn't even bulletproof(while on guard)
2:12 that is horrendous pamput isn't even a 10 this is so bad.
If you want to make sense of the Ark then take into account that it took multiple months before Goku and King Kai decided to go visit the grandkids during that time Goku was training along snake way with King Kai so chances are Goku's physical power to easily have doubled if not triple before they met the the Grand Kai
Unpopular opinion: people like to disregard canonicity or think it doesn't matter, but it's in fact the fillers that are guilty of everyone starting to think that powerlevels are BS
good fuckin videoooo, i liked the ending music too felt a lil uplifting or sum 💀💀
It showed that the earthlings can improve just as much or more than any sayian they just need the same type of training
i love your videos i think you should branch out to other anime or fighting games maybe
amazing content tho been a day one frlll
I have some plans
And this is why Toriyama dropped power levels. When you have to do math to figure out if a scene is allowed to be dramatic, it's not good.
Your conclusion is perfect, no notes!
I'm surprised you didn't mention the filler content when Goku and Vegeta were inside Buu as that too makes no sense. Goku should not be able to beat ultimate Gohan in base considering he surpassed SSJ3 Goku's power
Finally goopy vegeta video
Mutaito wasn't necessarily weaker than King Piccolo. From what we saw in the anime, unlike Goku, he had to fight hundreds of Piccolo's minions before fighting Piccolo himself. And since Piccolo was still young each minion would've been around the same level as Drum.
Funny how that "fist of the north star" bandits also appeared in Naruto years later xD
yeah I know they're kind of insired by some mythological figures, but they look very "fist of the north star esk" in dragon ball
Some inconsistencies in your video too. Goku can not be more than 40 in episode 1. So 4 times stronger than farmer with a shotgun absolute max… there were a few other problems, but I waited until the end and now I forget lol
yup, they truly don't
Still no dbs movies to further delay covering Moro and Broly lol
You know there is another reason why master Muto didn't kill King Piccolo if he actually had the power to defeat Goku it actually because he knew about Kami add King Piccolo connection and knew if he killed King Piccolo he'd be killing the guardian of Earth as well so instead of killing him he sealed him away.
But I guess that didn't cross your mind 😔.
18:36 whose idea was it to have Goku go super Saiyan against *them* in the first place?
See, this is why I stick to manga scaling...
The trick with otherworld is to make cell much weaker rather than make goku much stronger. It is stated that only good people are allowed to keep their power in other world so cell is just massively weaker in other world and didn't realize it.
Thats pretty pickle dude
I know you didn’t just say Toriyama does a great job keeping the facts straight 😂 him and George Lucas are probably the two absolute worst creators when it comes to keeping consistency with their already established lore from the past. Especially with power levels for Toriyama.
he used to be consistent, I really think super was inconsistent cause toryama wasnt really trying, he did the bare minumum for all of super
Just because you have power doesn't mean you have speed especially if you don't know how to use ki
While I definitely agree Goku letting his guard down is exaggerated in Super but he definitely let his guard down in OG dragon ball like in his fight against piccolo and radditz
The ox king may be slow but I sincerely doubt his power lvl is only 88
You might have said it in the video or someone else might have mentioned this but powerlevels are not supposed to make sense.
That is one of the underlying messages of DBZ. you cannot quantify the value and potential of people with a number.
i assumed that mutai itto wasnt more powerful he was just more skilled thats it
"Toriyama does a great job keeping all the facts straight" yeah cuz he pulled them from his ass as needed! No hate, that was just his thing!
Also power levels are meant to be BS, as a way to show that the Freeza Force's numbers don't really mean anything.
Yes he did..he forgot the color of trunks hair
Fair
Wait, what? Holy, I totally forgot that HFIL is canon in a way
8:02 Goku isn’t faster than light as he probably grabbed Roshi’s glasses before Tein launched the solar flare and it is consistent with Mr. Popo’s statement with being still as the skies and faster than lightning do you even read or watch the show?
Edit: I’m making this edit because there are idiots that don’t realize that solar flare is only useful if there is no ways to prevent light from hitting your eyes or the opponent doesn’t know about the move as it takes a least three seconds to come out during the 22nd world martial arts tournament as it takes the user to put there hands up to there face say solar flare and a brief moment later it activates, you blind idots
Edit number 2: the filer for the original dragon ball is considered canon by the author which means it is canon
Edit number 3: Goku during the red ribbon army arc is at 105 you said during your first power levels video and he needs to aim dodge lightning blast from the jigelr he couldn’t have been FTL during his fight with tenshinhon if his power level wasn’t way over 305 which he does when he is a adult at over 400.
@@leannestewart7215 the popo statement is probably a metaphor itself and its shown that goku ran for the glasses AFTER Tenshinhan did the solar flare because he wouldnt get roshi's glasses without a reason and when he saw the light he went to get it. And not to mention he was dodging lasers from the Red ribbon mechs which are said to be light speed
@@chromephoneyeah sure he didn’t have a reason to grab the glasses to counter the extremely telegraphed attack that takes a like five seconds to launch yeah makes NO sense oh wait it does, stupid
@@chromephonewhere? If you say the anime than you do not realize that scene is completely nonsense as the light hits him then he moves which means he should have been blinded
@@chromephonethey where literally said to be beams which means they weren’t (guaranteed to be)actually lasers
@@leannestewart7215 buddy the manga doesn't take hours like z for an attack to do it's INSTANT all goku had to do was look and see the little light that was coming out and get the glasses to defend himself unlike your theory which says that he just assumed he may need it
10:43 and I know you see her she's sooooo fineee them character designer's were definitely Cooking
22:04 wait, do you actually think Potara fusion is A *times* B?
No, I did math ti figure out how big the boost needs to be tp make gotenks slightly stronger than super buu, my conclusion was that the dance is x2500 and potara is x3000 (as it's stated to be superior)
whats the power level of the slab 🥩 betwn vegeta n gokus legs
sick intro
