I first heard opera when I was 18, way back in 1958. I first heard Pavarotti in 1990. No matter how many times I have heard him sing, he always grabs me. It is something in his voice and tone. I have heard many opera singers, non gives me goose bumps like Pavarotti.
I was so lucky. As a young woman I met Pavarotti, who was a friend of my professor in Italy. He was a warm wonderful man. When I saw him later at La Scala it was one of the greatest experiences of my life.

Pavarotti was definitely one of the best tenors of all time... I recently found (and fell in love with) another artist that you should definitely check out : Aurora ! I would suiggest at first, you should react to her song "Exist for love live from SOS Ole Bull"... just her at the piano.... but sooooooooooo... wonderful. And her concert at Nidarosdomen is magical ! And as far as Mylene Farmer is concerned, I would suggest to check out another of her biggest hits : Sans contrefacon !
