Between 1992 and 2003 Pavarotti held benefit concerts for charity called Pavarotti and friends in his home town of Modena in Italy.
This particular concert was for Angolan refugees and it was held on the 28th May 2002.

HOW in the ACTUAL F did I miss this??? I mean, really?? I'm so ashamed to say that I'm today years old, I love James and ADORE Luciano, but I hadn't seen this. 🤯🤯🤯🤯 What a crazy collab that works Magnifico!!! You can clearly see how ill LP is, and yet, he soldiers on. Not to mention, James is no spring chicken himself and just knocks it out of the park! What an amazing performance by two legends. I'm so blown away 😵‍💫😵‍💫Thanks for doing this one, sweetie! 🤘Rock on, Kelly 🤘

The main message that Pavarotti is singing, is that none of it makes sense if man is only living for himself.

  • @sanfordgfogg

(Verse 1)Translated From Italian, Luciano sings:
Man chases power but he doesn't know it
May the Great One limit himself to being as he will appear.
He holds an idea in his palm
    Who doesn't live,
That in his imagination ... he wanted
If you don't notice that then
    Nothing makes sense anymore if
    You live only for yourself.

Yes Yes and Yes!!! The respect between these two powerhouse men is beautiful. Pegasus, PLEASE react to some FUNK; James Brown’s “GIVE IT UP OR TURN IT LOOSE”. And absolute classic, and it was “old” in the mid 80’s, yet when I was clubbing in Brooklyn and Manhattan, DJs who knew the good sh$t would play it; we girls just stepped back in a circle because the guys, B Boys, would take over the floor; it was GLORIOUS 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Division of people into one group (based on whatever criteria of exclusivity) vs another is something people choose. Doesn't have to be that way, yet people do keep choosing to do it. There are tons of examples of people coming together, particularly in times of crisis, which is such an amazingly beautiful thing to witness and/or experience. Maybe it's all just nature's way of keeping the balance.
    Nice find!
