    Hitting my first chow this month. 2018 Camry with light mods. I grew up showing lowrider bikes and man cars setting up the lowrider shows are next level.

      Woot woot! Love that shows are back in season and the pandemic stuff if lifting. Good luck out there and no doubt the lowriders are a whole different league! Not one single part left untouched but can eat off it all.

    As a mustang owner, I can’t tell anyone I watch your videos and I can’t upvote, I hope you understand 🤣 nice video. I actually take off my wheels to clean them really well and then I clean the brakes and repaint the calipers. Lots of work

      😂 this is the realist comment I've ever seen! No wonder the channel is taking off 😂 tbh, I learned how to drive stick on a mustang, so it's all good. I love anything with a motor that can do stupid stuff in. Thanks so much! I envy you because I don't have the time or patience to do all that. 🤘🏻

    I’ve been to a huge show that had Top 100 plaques. 50 of the 100 was brand cars straight from the dealership. The rest was club members of the people hosting the show.

    What if i have a carbonfiber hood and i want them to see the front end look but i have to open my hood so they can see my engine bay can i just leave it open for them to be available to open it or would they not do that

    • @thesinistercamaro
      @thesinistercamaro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't seen judges open anything on their own. It's mainly up to you to levae it open so they can check that area. You can wait for the judges to come by to open it and then close it when they leave if you like. That way, you don't miss out on points and it's only like 5 minutes of it being open so the rest of the time people can enjoy it with the hood down. That's what I would do imo.

    I have a low mileage 89 Cadillac Fleetwood that is all original and that is my selling point if you will, besides having it as clean as i can what wood you suggest?

    • @thesinistercamaro
      @thesinistercamaro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very nice! Since it is over 20 years old, it is considered a classic. Unless you want to do some aftermarket things to it (since it is low milage and a classic, I wouldn't) keeping it so clean you can eat off it would be the best. Interior, paint, trunk, engine bay, and any jams spotless. Tire shine would help and and chrome polished. You can also do a show board telling spectators and judges it's a low mileage classic with any other details you would want them to know like if it's one owner car, etc. You can throw some neat ideas into the show board as well to match your ride too. You don't have to be too flashy as you have something already that not many other people have in perfect condition. Hope this helps.

  • @justinguarino201
    @justinguarino201 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Instead of opening the doors, are the windows just as good? Also, what if you don't have anything special under the hood, but the interior/body looks good? Would you still open the hood?

    • @thesinistercamaro
      @thesinistercamaro  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Absolutely open the doors and hood! Judges need to see your door jams just as much as the inside. Even if you have nothing under the hood, you can still clean it up and put some kind of dressing in the plastics to show that you keep it spotless too! I've seen a bunch of classic guys put mirrors under the car to show you can eat off the bottom of the car too. It's all about hitting every spot of the vehicle that you possibly can.

    Whats the best way to get into car shows cause my family has 56' Buick super riviera 2 door hard top with a 325 nail head and a 71 Pontiac fire bird with a 455 engine and a Chevy C-10 can't remember what year cause it has a different frame and body but it has a big block but we are getting a new one in a couple of months. O ya and a Harley Davidson soft tail deluxe. (Any tips will help)

    • @thesinistercamaro
      @thesinistercamaro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What I did was joined a couple car show groups on Facebook. Those are usually a good starting point in finding shows if you don't have a ton of friends that post about them. Go to a couple shows meeting people and then they can help you find more. Overall, have fun with it. Some shows you will get an award and some you won't, but the people you meet there may turn out to be like family, so there is more to it than awards (at least in my opinion). Sounds like you have a really cool lineup though! Lots of cool rides!

    • @thesinistercamaro
      @thesinistercamaro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question, yes open everything no matter what. The fact that it is clean will net you a few points on the score sheet. Lots of people neglect the engine bay even on highly modified vehicles. If the hood is closed, you are guaranteed to lose a few points no matter what since no one can see it. Once it is judged, feel free to close it back up if you'd like.

  • @daywlkr_svt
    @daywlkr_svt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you think it's tacky to bring trophies/awards won previously from other shows as part of a display? I would think it would help for display points, but at the same time I feel like the judge could possibly think "oh this guy wins all the time. Someone else should win this year."

    • @thesinistercamaro
      @thesinistercamaro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question. This is my opinion and my opinion only as some shows may have different standards, but I don't like the fact that people bring trophies from previous shows to display (unless it was the same show a year ago possibly). I use to be the kid that would win trophies and then carry them around with me from show to show. It's a pain to deal with, but the biggest reason I stopped doing it was that it took away from the build. Some shows make it part of the display points, but the big name shows will look at it as tacky. It's hard to see the work that went into a custom paint job when there are trophies all around the car and taking pictures is pointless for the same reason. Not to mention the fact that no one was there for the other trophies, so you could have gotten a best of show because it rained and only 10 cars out of 300 showed up. These days, trophies are a dime a dozen. 100 first place, 100 second place, a minion specialty awards, etc. That way everyone gets one and wants to come back to the next. Back in the day, there was 1st 2nd 3rd and that was it. If you didn't get one, you work harder to get one at the next show. My verdict is tacky, but it all depends on the show you are at. I stopped carrying mine around after the first season I showed years ago. They just sit in the attic now. Hope this helps.

    • @daywlkr_svt
      @daywlkr_svt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thesinistercamaro it does help for sure. I used to do the same, but when you get alot they're a pain to lug around. My truck is 20 years old now and it's getting harder for it to compete with the newer ones. When I was winning regularly I never had a display of any kind but this year I had a show board made and a framed build certificate so maybe that will help my chances.

    • @thesinistercamaro
      @thesinistercamaro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For sure! Sounds like a great idea. It's in the classic realm now, so the rarity, cleanliness, and original parts help more than anything (unless a really unique restomod build). If all original after 20 years, that is a great feat to accomplish because people like me need to transform it to be different. I can see it in your profile pic. Sweet ride.

      @@thesinistercamaro thanks man I appreciate that! Mine is definitely modded to my taste. The most original part is the paint except for the hood. It was my daily driver for 7 years so it's got it's scars. I definitely take it out when the weather is nice it's too fun to not drive.
