Very interesting video, lots to think about in a fitting of this standard. Great explanation of each parameter also. Enjoyed the first part and looking forward to the next one thx guys
Great approach to optimise the existing clubs. I have been fitted a few times and swing weight was never explicitly discussed (but did try different weights of shaft). Will be a good test of Dave’s D2C and off the shelf/used purchases. Looking forward to Driver which seems to be Dave’s biggest challenge. I’m a 13.8 hcp and am fascinated by Dave’s journey. As others have said, please don’t keep us waiting!😊
Chris and Dave. Thanks for this video I had my irons custom fitted and they are upright. However I’ve been pulling them left quite often and watching this I realised I’m setting up to the ball with my hands too low leading to the toe being up causing the pulls. I sorted out my address position today and not only hit the ball much straighter but my swing was so much less effort. It’s always a combination of the swing and the clubs. This made me focus on my swing as the clubs were right when I was swinging well but changing my address and therefore my swing was the cause. Great swing fix at no cost of changing anything about my clubs. Thank you. 😊
An excellent video. Very informative. Scott Gourlay Golf are excellent. There is also a fitting centre on the south side of Edinburgh 😊 get down there. I also have Arcoss sensors on my grips, I wasn't aware they made a difference!
Where's the rest of the fitting? Don't make us wait, Dave's living in our lives, and we want to see his progression, was looking good, until -------------
Very good well done Chris , think this is very important so that people can understand the whole fitting process for us me mortals of the game. Not like the ones you get at American G..f.
I recently hit some p790s which felt light in the head and i liked the feeling compared to my Wilson d9s, so i went to my local pro to try and buy the p790s but they felt totally different so im guessing this was the swing wieght, which again wasnt mentioned, only shaft changes. So can you buy those brass weights to try in your current clubs and try what suits you best? Great informative video, go Dave.
My 1993 Kenneth Smith Custom fitting I went to in Shawnee Mission KS ( no longer in business) the guy fitting me went trough every aspect of a fitting there was, they even had the first hand held launch monitor , even though I was hitting outside from an indoor fitting bay. He measured my palms and fingers to get correct grip size ( 3/64ths ) then he measured my wrist to floor with my golf shoes on. Then we went into the hitting bay and he had me swing my current 7 iron I was playing and watched my ball flight and the numbers on that little monitor , after 5 shots he went and built me a club and had me hit a lie board , then went and got a different head and he had me hit the lie board again , satisfied he had me hit 10 balls , then he went and changed the shaft and had me hit 10 more shots , then he changed the head again and had me hit 10 more balls . I think a heavier head as they are a heavy headed club. He had me hit my current iron for 5 shots and right back to the new built 7 iron and man the differences were noticeable , and to this day , I can still go hit these Kenneth Smith Forged Stainless steel irons ( they are very small headed ) just as well as my Newly fitted PXG 0211 XCOR2 irons, the only thing I had to do was add 2 swing weight points to the backs the PXG irons as they are way to light and by adding the weight , they now feel great ! FINDING a Club Fitter that actually KNOWS his stuff is the hard part today , as everyone thinks they are a club fitter and you end up pissing your money away , One of my buddies is in this very predicament from Club Champions !! I have had so many fittings since 1993 KS, Ping 4 times , Callaway, Miura, I could give the fitting place my $150 bucks and fit myself and I would be happy with my results !!
Agreed. I was recently fitted for new irons; the session took an hour and they looked at different heads, different lies and shaft lengths, but didn’t look at swing weights. I’m happy with my new clubs but suspicious that they asked my budget at the start and ended up with a set that were bang on budget ….. I wonder if that influenced the outcome rather than choosing the best set even if it was a little more expensive. I’m only going to buy a few sets of new irons in my life so I’d rather they did a thorough fitting even if I had to pay for it. I would consider another fitting with my new clubs to tweak the lie and swing weight if it were needed.
Anyone in the North West I would recommend Tour X in Wigan. Nick Hibbs former club fitter on the European Tour. 12 club brands, 12 shaft brands. Was there yesterday for some new irons. Great setup and lovely people. 🏌🏻♂️👍
It ranges depending on what you want to look at but a Iron fitting live Daves is £150 but all prices fees are deducted if you purchase clubs or shafts from SGGT
Well done Chris and dave fitting is important for good golf ⛳️ 😊

Cool Fitting. Very Detailed and understandable.

This is going to be a great series.
Finally been saying for ages that Dave should have a proper fitting, looking forward to seeing the rest of this content and where it takes him 👍🏻⛳️
Really good video Chris, definitely I need to do that kind of fitting, brilliant!!!👍

My local course got a Driver fitting with Laurence booked for next week
How many golfers change the swing weight unknowingly by changing the type & size of grips?
An excellent video. Very informative. Scott Gourlay Golf are excellent. There is also a fitting centre on the south side of Edinburgh 😊 get down there.
I also have Arcoss sensors on my grips, I wasn't aware they made a difference!
I love the review and would love to game these
Superb video. Fascinating how just little tweaks can make such a difference.

So informative, the strikes were great
Very good well done Chris , think this is very important so that people can understand the whole fitting process for us me mortals of the game. Not like the ones you get at American G..f.
What an interesting video, thanks. Dave, it looked as though you were trying to swing it faster…..? Looking forward to part 2

The technology still blows my mind

Never had a fitting like that even when I just bought clubs.
Supposedly been fitted for irons twice; nothing like this and there’s more to come, wow.

Just wish they would do this for an assessment of our gave to give a better idea of our game,
Then we could reassess our clubs.
What is the cost ?
£150 for full iron fitting but that is taken off any purchase after the session

£100/hour iron fitting session, it’s £150 for the session “was” thinking of going after this video 🤔🤔
How much does that fitting cost?
