Thank you bro. Yeah you're right. But I'm still confused since there is still no significant increase in performance. I suspect my laptop's GPU is a factory defect.
@@breaktimewithdon6503 Changing the thermal paste will not make the laptop more powerful, on the other hand it will heat less, less noise and more stable. For the next one I strongly recommend a 17 inch model ;)
@@cyberfuker85 Yes, remove fans and vent use a brush and completely dust them off. It will remove pile of dust and then apply paste. I got 30 degrees drop and maximum it goes is 65-70 under heavy load.
Can someone tell me what is the diameter or size of the screws the connect the heat sink to the motherboard. I sent my computer half a year ago for warranty and they destroyed three out of six from the screws, when I changed the thermal paste today with MX4 it was very hard to remove them and also screw them back.
I have same laptop Fx504GM-i7. But I have never seen 4007MHz core freq and temperature is always 90+ and shows thermal throttling. Did you do any undervolting ? Can you share what you did to get such a performance boost.

is such "huge load" of thermal paste really required? I changed mine a few months ago but only aplied a thin layer. My performance improved drastically and temperatures decreased by a good 30*C but watching you doing it gave me second thoughts...
Thanks for the comment. Hahaha, honestly I myself don't know much about this thermal paste thing, I just watched another TH-cam videos and they applied the thermal paste a bit thicker and evenly to whole surface of CPU or GPU.
@@breaktimewithdon6503 Yeah. Long time ago when I was building my first tower I've been told to put a "pea" of thermal paste and it should squeeze evenly under the radiator. But technology has progressed since that time a lot. Now I just spread it evenly like you, but the layer is something like 0,5mm thick. @@breaktimewithdon6503 oh well, sad to hear that. I've changed my thermal paste as well and the laptop has performed outstandingly well the first day, after that I started to encounter some CPU temp spikes like from 60 to 90 back to 70 and so on when running apps, in idle it stays pretty good at 45 degrees
@@sen7ryx It seems to me like there is an application causing those spikes. You might want to check your task manager and try to find the culprit. Or, make sure all of your drivers are up-to-date including your BIOS firmware.
@@breaktimewithdon6503 Most likely! I've ran the demo 3dmark bench with msi afterburner overlay and the cpu is averaging around 70-75C and gpu has peaked around 77-80C. the hwmonitor shows a peak of 93C for cpu, should that be concerning?
Which bios version supports undervolting? Please specify the one you are using for this laptop. I dont have the laptop now but I will be getting it for free from my friend. I will be doing thermal paste chnage, undervolting all that stuff.
So i know this is 3 years old but you should really consider disconnecting your battery before working on your laptop. I think you went a little overboard with the paste as well. Typically the less is more approach is recommended. As long as you have enough to cover the die you are good. Some even say that thicker will actually harm your temps but in some of the tests I've seen it doesn't make much of a difference regarding temps if you add more or less so its honestly just a waste to use so much.
Hello, I changed the thermal paste without removing the battery, and after finishing, the laptop stopped working. What is the problem and how can it be solved?
Hi bro, i want to buy this tuf laptop with same spec as yours. Do you recomended for gaming? As i heard and see lot of negative review on youtube so want to ask you as you had use it for quite some times and play hard game. I planning to get this tuf or helios 300 gtx1060
Hi! Thanks for your comment. Honestly, I don't recommend you buy this laptop. There are plenty of new gaming laptop choices out there that are more powerful with the same price. I think AMD x Nvidia gaming laptops are the best ones today. And make sure your choice has an 8-core CPU. Cheers!
