18:12 although this whole video did quite a good job at going over the meaning of Nietzsche's writing, I found that analogy quite possibly the best way to explain everything stated in the video. Using terms from computers and modern technology instead of religious analogies symbolizes the times we live in where humanity has spent more and more time thinking and living in the age of computers where we have basically become like gods, able to be in different places simultaneously and having the ability to time travel back in the past to be in the same room as someone filming a video and having the ability to see/hear them speaking. The idea of religion and the concept of god as a form of ancient technology or engineering (the action of working artfully to bring something about) created to flip societal structures on their head (see "The genealogy of morals") might be a novel way to help people understand the fundamental purpose of religion.

I think Atheism is the of lack of belief in God nowadays rather than the position that God does not exist. It's definitely something that is argued about anyway

The problem w this is, by its v definition, atheist is just someone whom doesn't believe in deities. Their w/in there are countless differing ideas. As there's so many different firms of Christianity there's even more ver of atheism bc there's no singular "flavor" of atheism. Everyone whose an atheist only believes there are no gods. Everything else from there is upon the individual.

@@shaunkerr8721 personally I go with Atheism being a lack of belief in any Gods. To claim there are no Gods is adopting a burden of proof.

@@willd6215 (not wishing to be inflammatory) My view of Atheism, or indeed an Atheist, is that one does not claim that there is/are no God(s), simply that no-one has yet to prove that one, or indeed any, has ever existed - to an Atheist the burden proof lies solely with the believer(s).

Your vids are good,I know you have to make choices about content but you dropped the ball on this one. Your other vids explore the problems of modernity, meaninglessness, alienation, anxiety, mortality, etc., a of which are a consequence of "the death of God"....but as Nietzsche said, most of us don't realize the consequence of this momentous event.

    THE HAT IS DEAD
    "The hat is dead!"
    Cried the lonely, forgotten voice
    Of the day.
    See you all next video.

Totally got the joke. I'd call it...the last snigher of Nietzsche (auto-predict texting these days saves us mere mortals mis-spelling, great work to Kaufmann!). Love Nietzsche the rare gem, most immense, precious, pouring endless joy to our souls, love the joke ; )
    Thx for sharing xxxx

Nietzsche calls himself an atheist in Ecce Homo so it's fair to say he was. A much different sort than Dawkins, but an atheist none the less.

The 20th century did not do so well without God and there were many believers! Imagine the 21st century!!! The horror!!!

    • @shaunkerr8721

Didn't do so well? 250,000 ppl a day are lifted out of poverty, humans have the longest lifespan & quality of life ever witnessed, we went to the moon & launched objects that would teach the interstellar medium, etc. etc. etc. Look up Steve Pinker's work. Life is better than it ever has been. We have our issues, for sure, & we had a couple of great wars, but these are small prices to pay for vaccines & modern medicine, clean drinking water, & enough to eat that food is now a health problem other than starvation. This just did not happen before the 20th century. God (Jesus Christ) is a human construct & he (they?) are dead! It's time to evolve culturally & find a new metaphysical standard our descendants themselves will one day murder.
