Is it a sensor on the back of the motor just curious not the flywheel because you did change the motor and it’s the same flywheel so it could be a sensor on the motor that’s fucked and not picking up the flywheel idk just thought

Matt you guys need to take a stethoscope and listen to your Saab engine from top to bottom from valve cover to oil pan at idle and various rpm’s to hopefully diagnose the noise. Another thing y’all can do is to use a borescope and look inside the bell housing while one of you rotates the engine by hand with a ratchet to check the flywheel for cracks. Good luck!
ON THE SAAB IT IS THE TIMING CHAINS MAKING THAT NOISE YYOUR TENTIONERS ARNT STOG ENOUGH ANYMORE DELT WITH. THIS 3 different times your tentioners are collapsing around 3k rpm and above because that’s when the chain has the most pressure
Hey just thought I’d throw this out there! I have a jackspania shifter, however I purchased one of the self centering ones, it helped take out 90% of the shifter slop, also put In a garagistic dssr and selector joint which fixed the rest of the slop issue!! But the key is to get the self centering version it has a spring under the shifter stand that gives it that perfect centering action, so ur 2-3’s no need to guide it into the 3rd gate u literally just push it straight forward and it will center and immediately go into 3rd!!! Kind of hard to explain, but if y’all get another one try and get it and I’ll see what I mean it’s a game changer!
Even if your inputs are burnt on that terminator, pick up the CAN expansion module, it gives you 8 inputs and 8 outputs and does all sorts of sensors like thermistors for temps which the stock terminator doesn’t give you. Then you could do flex fuel and whatever else u wanna add.
Matt, the b2x5 have some different things that can tick among others the timing chain.
But if the engine is toast get you a bair och b2x4 pistons rods and crank. They stand up to a ton of abuse. If you are intrested i can help you put down a list of parts and so on.
WR on the b2x4 bottom end is 703 crank so it's a solid unit!
Just welded the diff in my 86 Z28 car has a swapped junkyard 350 and original bone stock 5 speed, diff is a 3.42 one wheel peel, can't wait to drive it tomorrow 😀

Ever try the cord that cane with the new miata ecu? Maybe the new ecu is pinned differently
Chris check all your fuses on the Colorado usually if you see a over voltage issue you will pop a fuse or relay before you fry the ECU.
I’ve continuity tested every fuse in the car all good
Have you tried bypassing the clutch switch yet to determine if that's bad or what about turning the ignition switch on and just giving the starter power off the battery to see if the truck will start that way?
Strange noises in Saab engines are usually chaintensioners/guides or powersteering pumps. Had an old man roll in with the axle of the pump halfway out of were it belongs but still spinning. Made a hell of a noise. I wouldn't keep driving with that sound. 😂
Hey Chris have you checked any of your relays on the Colorado yet ? Alot of the relays in the fusebox run multiple different things check and see if one might control the ECU or something like that and you might find the problem ! Just an idea idk !
Try making a bench top harness to connect to the colorado ECM, this can rule out some other module interference on the CAN. I've had this issue using hp tuners when theres aftermarket radios or remote start installed in the vehicle.
You need to check grounds relays and fuses on the Colorado
Well as a fellow saab guy I’d say possibly rod bearing (s) the oil pickup on the pan is a known thing to start clogging up and starving the bearings after awhile or when balance shaft bearings are worn they’ll cause low pressure on 2nd and 3rd rod bearings, easy thing to fix tho if the crank is still good assuming that is the issue ofc😂
But I’d also before anything else take the valve cover off and check the timing chains tension
I put effort into correcting the alignment angles on my 08 Acura TL Type S so it wouldn't kill tires in 20,000 miles as the car is lowered.
I put the correction arms in, go it aligned. The drive to the shop was very sketchy. I got the car back and it drove better but still like crap. I made them realign it after I put my new tires on. Still drive like crap. It will go to a different more performance oriented shop to get aligned again and hope the 3rd time is the charm. It just sucks putting the effort in only to have the car continue fighting.

ECU’s can go bad. Mine in my Audi decided to fail randomly and it was doing the same thing that one is doing. Replaced it, and it works now.
Don’t throw that out.. prove it’s charging at 19v and call auto one corporate and make them pay for a new ecu
Check all your fuses on the Colorado because if the ecu fuse is popped it won’t connect!!!!

If the starter on the truck has one wire to engage the gear would it be interchangeable with say 2002 Silverado starter that has a more secure mounting for the signal wire????

Don't bother with holley. Try fuel tech. You won't be disappointed
I had a flywheel do the same shit it's actually a common issue. I bought a Jim Wolf Tech Clutch and Flywheel and that thing was amazing. Beat tf out of it and it never failed me.

You prob won't see this , but on your front jackstands , there is a tab on the side of the jackstand , bend it over and it stops the toothed section pulling out when your moveing them around... who new

That coolant line you busted on the 370z is the heater core hose
If the ecm fuse is blown it won't crank. Make sure you checked it out good.

Alternators have Regulators on them that prevent that amount of Overcharge. Its' very likely if this is a problem the alternator might need maintenance. It is possible you might be using a 15V Alt that might be over charging. on a normal car 14v is about what you want to see..
