That’s an early 70s CT70. Key switch is one click for run and second click for lights. We had two when we were kids. A 3-speed auto and a 4-speed manual. We graduated from Little Indian and Bozo mini bikes to these…we were in heaven!! Great rugged bikes! Typical Honda quality. Ours were gold and green. The blue is very nice!
@@5150mxVW buy a stingray with the peddles off and motor plate already welded in. then you could run the rim with another half rim welded to that. put on a giant fan belt and bump start it. it would immediately GO, no clutch! used a string for throttle off the carb. you would stop by killing the engine and the whole bike would skid to a STOP! Super dangerous and of course it constantly broke. but we wanted to ride and that’s what we knew at the time lol
As many of these "will it run" videos I watch on TH-cam, it is always funny to see the surprise and excitement on your faces when it fires up and runs. I do the same thing. We are all a bunch of giddy school girls when an old motorcycle fires up. That is a very nice CT70.
I love the Ct70! I have an ST90. Same stamped frame but with more traditional types handlebars and spoke rims that are a little taller overall. Perfect camping bike! 🤟
I’m in Connecticut, I bought a 1970 CT 70, I minted it out, I thought that my son would want to learn how to ride it, had no interest in it. I sold it and about six bills on it. Mine came with a metal fuel tank that was like Swiss cheese and a quilt blanket. Lots of holes and lots of patches. I installed a plastic one which was also a Honda OEM NOS. The carburetor always gave me grief. This bike was originally sold new in the state of Utah, it came with a high altitude carburetor, which was what ailed it, I had to run it with the choke on about a quarter of the way. Put the correct carb on it, good to go. For $500, you got it for a steal. I hope that your son enjoys it!!! Keep the paint side up and the rubber side down!!
Never had one of those But I did have a 1974 XR75. Loved it and unfortunately sold it when I was a kid. BUT I have another one now that’s completely restored. And still a blast to ride.
Hi Jay really like your channel, always look forward to your videos. I got an orange one of these a few years ago. Its a 1969 KO automatic, probably same as this one. Engine was stuck and would not turn, but it was all there. I got a new Japanese jug and slug from CHP in Texas for less than $100. Also needed points and condenser, and cleaned and lapped the valves. Ran great for a while, then the kick shaft stripped and had to replace that. When I was 5, a neighbor had one of these brand new and would ride me on the back and let me shift
Nice find, The rich kids had those in my town growing up I was lucky to have a rupp TT500 and had lots of fun with that it had a 2 speed auto and would do about 50 mph. At least you are small enough to ride it I was 6'2" @ 14 years old😂
My brother bought one from our friends in ‘78, and it ran like a champ, but burned a bit of oil. My brother was not diligent when it came to maintaining things, so less than a month after his purchase he locked the motor up tight as a drum-and that was that. There are lots of Honda collectors, so someone will want that gem.
We had a blue one like that, and the neighbors had an orange one that was mint with directionals, speedo, horn and lights, not a scratch on it. But we had more fun with ours because we went through the trails and took it off jumps, etc. Nice find, your son will have fun with it.
$500?? That’s a great deal. Running good and ready for the road I’d say it’s gotta be worth $3,500. I’d love to have me they’re cool. Hopefully Honda will bring the new Dax 125 to the states. I’ll definitely get one of those if they do.
The most & the best video you made instead of seeing junk I think you are king of the motorcycle king lol big supper fan of the channel do some more motorcycle videos. Thanks.
My best friend had one. I learned to ride it at 7 years old. We rode that thing all over town. It felt like it went 100mph. I had a Suzuki 90 “Enduro” street and trail bike. My other buddy had a Yamaha 100 “enduro”. And the “only child” kid had a YZ80 and smoked us all, but he was spoiled. 😅. Such great memories. If you got that for $500 you got a GIFT. that thing is worth thousands.

I have three CT70's I have restored. They are great bikes! I have one with a 125cc motor and one with a 140cc motor. The other one has the stock 70cc motor.
