Let me know what YOU want to see in the KOTOR Remake below! Really interested to see what you guys have to say! Come follow me on twitter for KOTOR Sithposting! twitter.com/100PerStarWarstwitter.com/100PerStarWars
I think they should have both kinds of robes but I would happy with either one but the one thing they should add the one thing true Customizable lightsabers and not just what ever color blade you want. You know what I mean
I agree with everything here except the SelKath storyline. For me, I feel there is enough going on in the story without having to add more companions in this way. One thing I'd like to see implemented, is the expansion of force powers and the ability to really take them to the next level. Also, the implementation of other species in the Mandalorian ranks to keep up with the lore of Mandalorians assimilating other cultures into their own. I can not agree enough with the idea not to change the romances with the characters. There is just too much character motivation that would be ruined if it was changed.
The only thing I disagree with is Bastila's sexuality, this is because if Revan is a woman Bastila's redemption goes from awesome to terrible and cheap, when I played it I thought, WHY CAN'T MALE REVAN DO THAT????!!! Also There isn't a homosexual male romance option, I agree with you about Carth HOWEVER, Canderous's sexuality isn't revealed till the Revan book if I remember correctly. Honestly if just going by the 2 KOTOR games Canderous being gay wouldn't be a retcon since the Revan book is not canon to this.
I disagree that the big twist wouldn't be nearly as shocking now. I think KOTOR stans underestimate the extent to which older Star Wars games are unknown to the younger generations of Star Wars fans. Even for someone who is 25 now, they were only like 7 when it came out cause it was so long ago. Most people only know Revan through lore videos and art and stuff, and they might be aware of KOTOR, and might even have tried it, but even for myself as a young adult, the dated graphics and patience the game requires were a big turnoff, so I can't imagine the younger Star Wars fans being too eager to play through it, especially with how bad it runs on modern PCs
Would be great especially for non-force user party member. It would be fun if the droid could do also have melee weapon for close combat. Especially for HK-47 since he is an assassin droid.
True, this is very important. And also, if I don't see a Plasma torch, or at least lightsaber cutting, and if I see my character having to actually use security in my playthrough, someone is gonna end up dead/in hospital.
I want to see some love given so the Ebon Hawk, interaction with the ship, customization, ship combat that isn't pulled out of a 90s arcade. Make it feel like a place where people live and share.
I think I keep the turret game but make it more dynamic it a throw back to episode 4 so maybe just make it timed as you escape but it you take to much damage you lose still.
Yeah, let’s see Mission picking up Canderous’ dirty underpants, carrying them through the ship at arms’ length while holding her nose and saying ‘Ewwwww!’, before putting them in the washing machine. 😜
Just skip the ship combat honestly. I have 2 or 3 different xwing/tiefighter games on steam already, I don't need it in my rpg and it was just annoying to begin with.
I'm not so sure, it depends what the flashbacks are. The Star Map flashbacks wouldnt work i dont think as playing it in a vision would take some of the mystery and intrigue away when you are playing it in proper time. Mandalorian Wars flashbacks and other stuff maybe would work though, but that would probably be much better suited to the exile if k2 was remade
Edited comment to expand upon it: I agree with your idea’s and would want to add upon it with my own idea’s. - I’d bring back Rino Romano and Charity James as Jedi/Darth and Player Revan’s male and female voices. - Improve the Pod Race mini-games, add obsticile (misspelling) like in K.O.T.O.R.2. - Improve the Pod-Racing mini-games like K.O.T.O.R.2, adding obstacles and hovering. - Allow Juhani to be pushed more and more to the Dark Side by the player. - If Player Revan pushed Juhani to the Dark Side, and sides with Dark Bastila, then Juhani should join Player Revan, and if (female) Player Revan romances with her, Juhani would automatically join her. - Add in the (female) Dark Player Revan redemption by Carth ending. - Improve the Star Forge robes (Jedi and Sith), bring the features from the Darth Revan robes like the cape, raised hoodie, chains, the belt like Darth Revan robes. Make the Jedi robes chest plate orange and yellow and the robe itself be white.
You make EXTREMELY good points. I say have the robes be in tiers. Padawans receive the vanilla KOTOR Robes, Knights get a bridge between vanilla and traditional robes, and Masters get full on traditional robes. Also, unique items get unique skins, like The Qel-Droma Robes.
I want to see Vima Sunrider in the game as a side character, since she was supposed to be in the original. I also want the game to have you return to the Council on Dantooine; in the original, the game felt so cut off from the rest of the Jedi and you forget about the enclave until the Leviathan. In addition, I would like to see background from the KotOR comics make its way into the game
Also all the major named npcs need much better models that are clearly distinct from their underlings. Like Ajunta Pall's ghost, Malak's three apprentices in the DS route, or the Dxun Sith Master from KOTOR 2.
That seems to be the common overarching sentiment: more. Leave the fundamental KOTOR characters and story as they are, but add to them. More character depth, more character interaction, more actual characters, more narrative decisions, etc. Expansion rather than revision. There is a golden opportunity for a KOTOR experience on the same scale as Mass Effect, to provide a Star Wars experience that nobody has ever seen. The studio should have the budget to go berserk on this one. I will add one thing to this list: more NPC character interaction. One thing Mass Effect 3 improved on after ME2 was how the non-player characters interacted. The Normandy of ME2 was a fairly dull ship; characters stayed in one place and rarely if ever talked to people besides Shepard. The Normandy of ME3 was a living ship. People moved, talked, played games, flirted, cooked, drank themselves into a stupor through their emergency induction ports. The Ebon Hawk is a much smaller ship than the Normandy SR-2, and we need to see some of that character interaction ingame. It's less critical for KOTOR 1 than the sequel, but I'd love to see it regardless.
In the original game, companions would talk to each other while you were out and about. They should have similar interactions but on the Ebon Hawk that you could just walk in on. Like Canderous and HK-47 swapping war stories or duelling. Mission and Zaalbar playing Pazaak. Banter between Carth and Bastilla on the bridge. Bastilla and Jutani training or meditating.
Trying to be too much like Mass Effect ruined Dragon Age, I sincerely hope that Bioware doesn't make the same mistake twice. And nowadays they're not even good at making proper ME games. Kotor remake shouldn't even have voice acting for the main character as far as I'm concerned. If Vampire Bloodlines 2 doesn't need main character voice acting, Kotor remake for sure as hell doesn't either.
A bit more diversity in crafting than in kotor 1 would be good but not as convoluted as kotor 2 as I found that the bazillion different pieces for every slot are a bit overwhelming and in the end most of them pretty much do the same things (so most are redundant)
There is potential for those random Sith fighter attacks to be actually fun and not a chore. I want many more side quests. This way the main story is not changed but it adds to the game world. No fade to black with Bastilla romance😉 I also think we should have access to KOTOR 2 powers (ie force crush)
Or maybe include a “starfighter” space battle sequence? Maybe not for every one of the sequences, but maybe during the Taris escape or pre leviathan level
I want not just Sith fights. You stepped on the toes of some pretty nasty criminals when you left Taris, it would follow that you could get randomly jumped by armed thugs sent by czerka corp or the exchange
I would love more randomness to them as well. Like the possibility of them entering in on a random fight during a quest. Would love the sense of "the sith could attack at literally any moment" and either you are prepared or not. Or have a difficulty option for such things.
I disagree with the Jedi robes. I personally like the idea that different Jedi centers throughout the galaxy have their own unique traditions that differ from the mainstream Coruscanti traditions, and clothing can very easily be one of those things. I always viewed the robes of KOTOR 1 as Dantooine Jedi robes.
I can agree with that. Essentially having different "cultures" of jedi. I'm in to keeping the ones you get on Dantooine but also add the more "traditional" robes and outfits.
How about having some cosmetic customisation options for robes : Leave the stats and bonuses of the robes unchanged, keeping Kotor 2 options to add mesh & underlay to the robes but also add the options to change the appearance, color & design mostly of the robe :D !!!
Right. This is set in a time period where the Jedi in their cultures, practices, training regimen and even to an extent beliefs were not homogenized. The standardization of many of the order's practices, including dress, came in the Ruusan Reformation. So I'd still prefer Jedi robes to be unique based on the enclave/group of Jedi and their practices, since the order is far less centralized at this point in time.
@@grimlord3181 Exactly, if they do it right it has enormous potential. revan and bastila's love really means something to the plot, it just needs a better
I'm okay with playing a few of the flashback moments, but even as someone who's played this game a ton, I still always look forward to the reveal and appreciate the ambiance of mystery and uncertainty throughout the game as you go from planet to planet. You've mentioned the beauty of the game being that you are the mysterious stranger. Then all of a sudden, BAM! There will be people who haven't played the original, and so too much given away would ruin any amount of mystery or impact of the Leviathan. There should be a balance I guess. Otherwise, I love the recommendations here. Edit: actually I'm not sure about the Shasa addition. She's a young Selkath. Not really much backstory or development to get into. It's great to add to the game, but we don't want to bloat it down with stuff just to say we did it. Yuthura should definitely be an optional companion though.
@@100StarWars I mean, I think she could fit if done right. But what makes the companions so good is their depth and their unique perspectives. Like Mission: she's young but she has a lot of lived experience mixed with naïveté. I'm sure the writers could fill in the blanks about Shasa, but I wonder if there's enough there to work with to make it feel like she's not just taking up a spot.
I always loved learning about past and present lore in RPGs. I do want to have missions that were flashbacks or even just playing as Revan in his nightmares before his identity is revealed. Like past Revan in his dark robes and armor fighting him saying stuff like, "You can never escape me. Remember who you are." I do agree I want to see those 5 things need to be in the remake. When I played KOTOR, I preferred wearing the armor over the "robes". The only ones I liked to wear were the dark jedi robes. But that's probably also just because I like black armor and stuff. But yeah, I agree with everything you said. Plus I want the Revan and Bastila romance to remain Canon. They deserve to have a happy ending.
gret list. I just hope that they leave the story and charakters mostly intact and add upon it. Your videos inspired me to play Kotor again after 10 years or so :)
I'd be happy with a just an updated, better graphics version of the same game. Who cares if everyone knows the ending. And, believe it or not, I don't agree that everyone does know. There's probably a whole generation of gamers who never heard of KOTOR.
@@existentialselkath1264 Agreed. And for people who have only played the most up-to-date games, KOTOR is going to seem ancient. I have gone back and replayed it through at least three times in the last two years. I never tired of it.
I also hope that they add new lightsaber crystals like the ones In kotor 2 and I hope they add the kotor 2 upgrade system. I think it would be really cool to be able to use lab benches and upgrade items more freely like you do in kotor 2.
Also, have the skills pop-up in the dialogue options Like (Awareness) You are afraid Or (Computer Use) So it can be sliced That could give the Revan character an Edge during some situations
Going with the influence system, it would be great if we could have a dark side ending without having to kill all our companions. Revan was supposedly a master of conversion, he brought several characters to the light, I don’t see why he couldn’t bring them over to the dark. Maybe the original was trying to punish you for choosing evil, which I can understand, but if you choose more of a Kreia path of pragmatism you could choose to believe your Sith empire would be better for the galaxy. Revan could regain more of his memories in a side quest and remember the larger threat. Long shot but redeeming Malak would also be cool 😎
Loved this video! Heard you recently on a Kotor podcast!! Would love to actually be able to playthrough Revans past It would definitely add to the immersion of the game! If they go as far as even remaking the 2nd Knights of the Old Republic with everything that was cut from the original release! That would also be epic! Currently doing a play through of Kotor 2 on the Xbox! Just to add to that.. More of Darth Nhilius!!
Awesome! That was a fun time making the podcast, glad you're liking them, they're great! Fingers crossed we get that K2 remake, and enjoy your playthrough :)
Increased Lightsaber customisation!! You could only change the colour of the beam, but if you read the crystal descriptions they describe blade effects like “keen blade” or “makes the blade crackle with energy” but when equipped, they didn’t actually change how the blade looked. Also, part of the Jedi training is _constructing_ your own lightsaber, in KOTOR you are just given one that is just a plain silver handle, no decoration, no personality. The Remake should have you able to find Lightsaber sections around the galaxy (much like Jedi Fallen Order) and actually build your own lightsaber from those pieces on Dantooine as part of your training.
I wanna romance the fish person! Very good video, great points. I would love to see Kreia at least in some flashbacks in the remake. Also a more fun space battle playable scenes.
I want to add onto your dream sequence section, which I 100% agree with; Making Canderous’s war stories playable, or at least making them mini cinematics. Also: They should also build up Darth Bandon better, possibly make him a reoccurring threat. Instead not a one time, low - mid difficulty fight.
This game needs to have the greatest saber customization of all time. Double bladed, curved hilt, cross guard, and every color from black to white as an obit on up front, only requiring you to hunt down additional crystals for stat boosts.
I think there should be a rebalancing or revamped of the armor system. There were so many cool armors I would never use simply because they restricted force powers
If we're gonna see flashbacks of Revan in the Mandalorian wars, why not have cameos of Bao-Dur, Alek, Meetra, Sion, Nihilus, and whoever else was there? Before they became so unique. What if Yavin IV becomes a proper planet becoming reachable from the Yavin space station? The place always looked like it had 2 doors on the side. Do some stuff with Exar Kun's history? Although having both Kashyyyk and Yavin IV would kind of be redundant to have two jungle planets, but whatever. Now that presumably everyone knows you are Revan perhaps everyone should know who the Rakata is, but still not ruining the surprise, introduce the species history more in the galaxy for one ultimate goal: to make The Star Forge have much greater meaning, to make it's whole essense more impactful. An ancient machine that feeds on the dark side to create other machines! Introduce more legends races to places that fit them as bystanders or actual interactable NPCs: Endar Spire - more races into republic military? Taris (political) - Miraluka refugees, Chiss ambassador/spy, Harch businessmen, Clawdite thief, Anomid gambler, Rattataki criminal, Sarkhai outcast, Arcona beggar Dantooine (farmers, bandits, social races, and lightside prospects) - Arkanian jedi, Mirialan jedi & farmers, Kel-Dor padawan, Togruta farmer, Lannik farmer, Nagai bandit Tatooine (arid) - Yinchorri gladiator, Houk thug, Barabel hermit, Kalaanite slave, Besalisk swoop racer, Dathomiri Zabrak bully, Weequay mechanic, Ugnaught vagrant Manaan (aquatics) - Karkarodons, Vurks, MonCalamari, Quarrens (I only remember them in KoTOR2), Nautolans, Chagrians, Ishi-Tib Kashyyyk (jungle) - Trandoshans employed by the Empire, Talz hiding among Wookiees, a Selonian gone mad in the forest, a wandering hunter Ewok helping a Wookiee, Gree skeleton Yavin IV - all that didn't make it to Kashyyyk (continued), Terellian Jango Jumper miniboss, Cathar settlers, Chistori crime lord, Bothan Jedi archeologist, Massassi trapper Korriban (arid: darkside, gruesome, and/or prodigious initiates) - Zeltrons, Pau'ans, Umbarans, Anzati, Cereans, Falleen, Devaronians, Iktotchi, Elomin Sleheyron (volcanic) - Sullustian sheriff, Zygerrian bounty hunters and slavers, a Gand fallen jedi darksider on a rampage, Skakoan construction foreman, Khaleesh merchant Lehon - one crash landed Sith scout? perhaps a Kwa skeleton?
The Jedi robes seem like such a small thing but I completely agree. We're going to be looking at this character for 30+ hours. Immersion is everything. Besides, they look so badass.
I definitely agree with the Influence system. If I have one gripe with KOTOR 1 which I don't have with KOTOR 2 (Which I am currently playing through at the moment.) it is the replayability. The expanded stories are another thing. I personally both love and hate the Influence system, but I'd rather have it there as it opens a whole new level of replayability to the game, and it is why I will definitely be revisiting KOTOR 2 when I finish the game. For KOTOR 1 I haven't had the same erge. The in-depth characters of KOTOR 2 is another thing which I think should be brought over to KOTOR 1. You don't need to change their characters to fit the story, just expand upon what is already there. That is another reason the Influence system is so great. The more influence you gain the more you can learn about the characters. The less influence you gain you can see a new side to their character you wouldn't have seen otherwise. Perhaps the cutscenes of Bastila turning to the Dark Side are slightly different depending on your Influence with her. If you have a high Influence she will be a lot more resistant out of her true feelings. If your more neutral on your Influence with her, she will have a rather normal transition, more akin to the original scene. However if you have a low Influence, she falls much more easily out of being more despised to you. Nothing that changes the overarching story in a major way but a nice small detail. Maybe you get a bonus level at the end of the game if you choose the Dark Side Ending with low Influence with Bastila where there is a small time skip and she challenges you to a fight for the Sith throne to which you have to defeat her, and two different cutscenes play depending on the outcome, if you win you get a scene showing your dominance. If she wins you see her taking over the Empire. Got on a bit of a ramble their. But I'd love to see the Influence system added with more expanded in-depth stories. Not changing what is already their, but expanding on the characters to give them more depth. Another thing why the Influence system is so great. I love listening to Kreia in KOTOR 2 and trying to decode what she is saying to put it into simpler terms before then thinking on what she has to say and finding her views interesting. I'm going to end it here. This is going on for far too long. But great video!
I 95% agree with you. First off additional companions is an insanely good idea. As someone who has play this game to death new companions sounds exciting. I like the jedi robes from KOTOR 1. I always viewed them as performance robes (some sort of jedi athletic wear if you will lmao). Honestly, I liked the robes from both KOTOR 1 and 2. I wouldn't mind seeing both in the remake with different properties and attributes.
Another thing from KOTOR 2 that should be introduced into the KOTOR remake is marking lootless/looted containers as "empty". I cannot count how many times I've looked into the same container for loot thinking it was a different container
Honestly I agree with most of this but I would like them to add a gay romance option. It doesn't have to be Carth but it would be nice to get some representation and add more to the game. Especially in a game that lets you have multiple characters that you can romance. I also don't have an issue with making Bastila bisexual because I remember many players wanting that before and romancing Bastila feels like it the best choice. Also I like your idea of adding the one girl as a lesbian love interest but that's still not gay representation. It would be really cool to see a masculine strong gay Mandalorian or just a gay Star wars character that's not your stereotype gay guy. I will say Kotor is one of my favorite games of all times and I know I'll probably get some hate for my opinion. But that's honestly how I feel about it because I remember as a kid wanting to be able to explore the gay romances in this game but not being able too.
@@kermitsbodyguard1763agreed. I hope they don't change major characters to make it fit but I can think of a few characters that could be bisexual or gay and it still be a true to the classic game.
@@100StarWars yeah, I think just adding a cool new gay character companion would probably be the best option. That way we have at least one gay romance option and it doesn't change up the game too much. But I feel like the haters will still be cruel just cause the character is gay. 😑 But if they were to go the bisexual route I think the only real choice would be Canderous Ordo which would be kind of interesting. I think a strong manly man like him with his mandalorian history and mercenary background would be a very cool story element. When it comes to Carth I just never got the bisexual vibe. He just makes a really good straight male character which is fine by me. Also I think he's pretty much the main choice if you choose a female Revan. When it comes to Bastile I've always thought that she should be bisexual but that's just me. 🤷 I remember a lot of fans being mad when the game came out and they couldn't let their female Revan be able to romance her. Honestly I just feel like she's the cannon romance option and that Raven should be a male. But I think it's cool to have multiple romance options just to see the change in the story. I just hope they do it kind of like the original Mass effect. Maybe it will affect the second game even though you don't play as Revan.
I believe Carth would be bisexuality, and before some idiot says he had a wife and kids. That doesn't guarantee a straight person he just fell I'm love with a woman first. Doesn't mean he'd never consider a man. But I would also be open to a bisexuality companion. If this game games has mod support the homophobes in the comment section are gonna lose their shit because someone will make another gay carth mod
I like the points you make and agree with you.I myself want bigger more realistic environments with much more side quests,a much higher level cap, night a day missions, characters that join your team or leave depending on your actions, weather effects, more customisation like in the sequel.I want to be able to escort the under city residents to the promise land, and have more planets to visit as well as the space station.
#4 you are completely right. I am so sick and tired of appealing to 1% of the population who do not live in reality. No flak from me. Social Justice is cancer.
I want to see a New Game Plus that lets you use the Light Side/Dark Side Star Forge robes and Revan's armour throughout the game, along with Mass Effect levels of customisation. Also if they make Revan fully voiced, I wonder if the SWTOR voice actor will voice the Male Revan in the remake.
Actual wearable Mandalorian armor would be cool... Not the weird looking stuff, but the actual neo crusader suits. I always hate that the only actual Mandalorian armor that you get in the game is right at the very end, despite mandos being around every damn corner... And I'm over here in my dollar store knock off "Babo Feth" costume with no helmet.
I think you're expecting too much from a remake. It's probably just gonna be the same game with updated graphics, more supported resolutions, new cinematics, updated animations and maybe some balance fixes, maybe some new abilities added here and there (like lightsaber stances from kotor2) and maybe some restored content.
I'm torn on this. On the one hand, I'd love to see the lore expanded by letting us play through those dream scenes. On the other, there are, however few, people who will be experiencing KOTOR for the first time in this remake. I'd like to offer a compromise between the two. Two settings. Expanded, and Traditional. That way first time players can choose Traditional story and it will leave out the expanded, added new sequences. Those who have been down the road of the story before can choose Expanded. Maybe add a New Game + option so the Traditional route can then lead into the Expanded route for the new players.
Fantastic and amazing video my friend as always. The dream sequence of Revan fighting Bastila and other Jedi I saw in the fan videos and I liked it, however I agree with you that we need to see more of Revan's past from the Mandalorian Wars. I wish I could be as exciting as you about the KOTOR remake but you already know I don't play the game. We've talked about this many times and I'll always be a fan of Knights of the Old Republic but you also know I favor an animated series of KOTOR since I watch the fan made videos
IMO the reveal must be made in a similar way as in the original because a LOT of people will be playing this for the first time, so it's important to keep the secret until the moment of the reveal. But I agree will playing through the flashbacks, only, preserving the secret. PS: Yes, robes, please! xD
I would say a couple of things, assuming it is possible, I would love to see a combo of both the visual customization of lightsabers like in Jedi Survivor and the component customization of lightsabers you get in kotor 2. For me, in order to avoid conflict between style and power, just keep them separated. You could easily make most of the components internal, since they would be related to the power of the blade, and keep the design purely aesthetic. I love the customization of the lightsaber in both and I would pay extra if both were combined in the same game.
I agree with everything you said. However, with clothing and armor I want a layered system so my characters can have a unique appearance vs what was in KOTOR 1 and 2 where what you see is what you get. I think romances should stay the same this is not Mass Effect or Dragon age where those types of relationships are more focused. I'm hoping for more quest as well as expansion on the original quest lines. I also want more of these quest to span across the planets. Playing the old games more often than not I try to finish one hub area before moving to the next hub, My reasoning is if they're changing combat to be more modern and faster you might out pace the narrative and finish the game to quickly. The originals I think really benefit from the slower paced combat and I think that it really played well with the overall game design with fights being more spaced out. l Also wouldn't be apposed to being able to fly the Ebon Hawk into battle because I never really liked the turret gallery. Last but not least, I hope they enlarge the world spaces and that they are packed with meaning full things to do. By today's standard KOTOR maps and worlds are tiny and sparse, Taris, Narshada, Manan, etc. Feel to small and lightly populated for what they represent.
Mass Effect: Andromeda sized locations! I love the idea of layered clothing. I want Mandalorian armour on with a a Jedi outer robe over the top! I want to choose to have my hood up or down. I want to be able to put Revan’s mask on again!!
Upgradable standard outfits, bastila’s standard armor, juhani’s, jolee’s they would be super cool to be actual robes and I’d love to get revan’s robes earlier like on the leviathan or something
Bro, maybe don’t completely spoil the story of technically a new game. It is a big reveal for anyone who hasn’t played the original. It came out in 2003, that’s why it’s getting a remake, not only for people who want to replay it but for people who never played it.
I want the remake to bring some lightsabers colors from legends into canon like how Fallen Order with Cyan, Orange, and magenta; I think there was more, but it's been some time I played that game.
Apart from the influence mechanic you mentioned, I actually agree with most of what you said, particularly the romance part. However, I actually hope they keep the revelation about Revan a secret in the game. While Old Timers like ourselves do know about the main character being Revan, the former dark lord of the Sith, many others still haven't played the game as they weren't born at that time or were simply fans since the Prequel Trilogy and would consider the old games 'outdated' in terms of visuals, combat and gameplay. This would give the opportunity for new players to understand the lore and events within the Old Republic Era as well as the franchise itself...
Lordy I couldn’t help but laugh with your robe rant because YOU ARE SO RIGHT! I agree with your whole list. Though I might also include how the corruption system from swtro works but have it possibly on a similar level to mass effect
Totally agree with your list thoroughly! I would say in regards to the Jedi robes, it would be interesting to separate the outfit into parts. (We had wrist, head, belt and body, but I like the idea of layering) It would give more RPG elements, but maybe allow a fun mix of armor and Jedi/Sith robe styles. Another thing I would like: We know everyone is going to be lightsaber wielding maniacs, buuuuuuut it would be an interesting anti-obiwan idea to make a Jedi sharp shooter and have powers that assist in that. You could do that in the original kind of, but why would you?
Fix the leveling issue when you become a Jedi. New players won't like doing the whole hold off from leveling up while still on Taris, forcing them to play extra cautiously until they FINALLY get to Dantooine and get the most level up points for Force powers.
I still have the robes I used when I played Star Wars - The Old Republic , brown when I played Jedi and a black when I played Sith. Yes I´m a NEERD. And yes I will use them again when this game releases.
I think more moments of the game having playable or having cinematic moments at all would be good. Like during the crime scene on Dantooine, as each person tells their tale, a scene plays showing their version of the events. This way we feel like we are more in the moment as we uncover the truth. Maybe also party banter, like in mass effect andromeda. As we are wandering around Taris, Tatooine, Menaan, or wherever, the other two are making idle chat and maybe with Revan too if he/she/they are given a voice actor too.
The zeison-sha warrior armor was my favorite. High defense for a light armor, plus it doesn't restrict force powers? Sold. Every play through I am sold
friend i completly agree with all the points you make im thinking the same way, problem is i doubt any of it will happen it would cost money and extra work that nowdays is just not "trendy" you can always rely on your imagintion to make your own kotor expansions
we NEED an endgame. I hate how after the star forge they give you final cinematics then your done. Game over. Start a new save file. No more exploration.
I would love to see lots of gear/outfit designs and graphics from all types of Star Wars era's. Would love to see more lightsaber customization both in the hilts and color crystals (visually that is).
I think it would be interesting to have them have 2 combat options applicable at the beginning of the game. A new, fresh, modern combat system, and a classic refined combat system. This would of course fix the issue of new players being put off by the turn based dice roll style while also allowing players a choice to go and play with that style of combat. Idk how realistic this is but I think it’s the solution that leaves the most people happy
number 1: exploration, YES YES YES YES YES!!!! everything u said here i want !!! such a good idea exploring his past or even some of his dreams would be sooo darn cool number 2: would be awesome to see a new planet and to explore it with its own storyline 2 it but honestly im not that bothered about seeing more about yuthura but shasa would be cool to see more about her as u said he game cover has selkath on it but they dont really matter all that much in the game number 3: yes yes yes that was cool idea number 4: yes i agree, why change who they are just because some people want to romance same sex or or whatever number 5: im not all that bothered about the robes BUT it would be nice to have jedi in proper jedi outfits rather then these made up onces i guess u could call it if that makes sense
What actually changes if you make Carth Bisexual? Like... Literally what changes? Lesbians can have Juhani, but gay guys get.............??? Like I'd be super cool with it if they added more companions, with one being a gay romance option, but in lieu of that it's kind of really sad and unfair that Gay Guys get the shaft(snrk) when it comes to romance in these games. That being said, I'd rather nothing be changed if any change would be done poorly or cut other integral things.
What if they expanded on revans backstory After the big reveal. so that if you happened to be playing kotor for the first time you would still get the reveal but older players get to see more of revans backstory. Like revan is haveing many more in-depth and deeper flashbacks. Or even playable flashbacks.
Since we don't have the reveal no more I think it would be fun to play the revan and malik story. Mandelorian wars seeking the star forge (first time) and end it w malik's betrayal right before the amnesia part. We'd get the influence system by turning Jedi to the dark side during the war
One thing I wanna see in this remake are hints to the TRUE Sith Empire that we were supposed to see in KOTOR 3. Just imagine this new Empire putting Vitiate’s Sith Empire in SWTOR to shame with mighty Sith sorcerers and warriors who embrace the Dark Side fully. Those hints could give the fans some hope for a true sequel to Kotor II that the players were promised all those years ago now.
... Isn't Vitiates Empire the True Sith Empire?? Like the Sith as shown in Swtor are nothing to be scoffed at. They literally invaded the Jedi Temple on Courecant and WON. Vitiate is one of, if not the most powerful force user in the lore, comparable only only to people like Tilak Horde, Naga Sadow and Palpatine himself. The man lived for over 300 yeads, then ditched his body for a new one, then used an entire other empire he had built up from scratch to crush the *entire fucking galaxy* in less than 3 years. I really wanna know what empire you think exists that exceeds these feats?
I agree with the robes but I'd go a step further and have robes for certain planets such as robes for the deserts. Maybe have an option that while inside ebon hawk and academy you don't wear the outer robes but once you step outside you can equip the cloak have options where if you equip it in deserts a companion might say aren't you hot or have your stamina reflect that your hot maybe you can't run as far or you see visual sweat soak the robes anything
Agree completely about Sleheyron! So much untapped potential there, and it's the volcanic planet mentioned by the star map computer puzzles on Dantooine, so it absolutely merits inclusion and wouldn't feel shoe-horned in; it'd just mean 6 Star Map planets rather than 5. And it would be especially great if they can tie it into Yuthura and her history as a slave under the Hutts; maybe she would be a wanted criminal for killer her master? As much as I like Yuthura as she is in the original game, I also see no problem with adding more characters into the party so long as everyone outside of Carth, Bastilla, Canderous and Jolee is optional. (Let's face it, Zalbar is kind of optional in the original game if you just leave him as a prisoner of his evil brother on Kashyyyk) And if people don't want those extra companions in their playthrough, then Aspyr could add a system like the Outer Worlds had, where you can either refuse their help altogether, kill them before they get a chance to join (Like you can do with Juhani), or take them onboard just so you can accomplish a specific task/side mission related to that character, and then ask them to leave. I feel like that's the best of both worlds.
Let me know what YOU want to see in the KOTOR Remake below! Really interested to see what you guys have to say! Come follow me on twitter for KOTOR Sithposting! twitter.com/100PerStarWarstwitter.com/100PerStarWars
I'm with u on the lack of Jedi robes 😳...
Sandral-Matale feud, or we riot like the Sandral-Matale feud.
It's got to have all the characters greet all the other characters by name too. I could never tell if it was intentional but that was hilarious
Aye aye
@@xriegle yeah, you know
That wasn't a riot, that was either a blessed alliance or a massacre.

Would like to see Kotor remake add the option "let you switch between 2 sets of weapon during combat" like they added in Kotor 2.
small but good suggestion!
That would be awesome!
Swapping weapons mid combat was Underrated quality of life feature.
😜
@@timonsolus hilarious 😂
Just skip the ship combat honestly. I have 2 or 3 different xwing/tiefighter games on steam already, I don't need it in my rpg and it was just annoying to begin with.
The Ebon Hawk is my favorite Star Wars ship!
In other words, you want the dream sequences to be playable instead of them just being cinematics.
I'm in. That would be amazing.
@@TheCynic the star map part would work with the dream of revan and malak search for it

If they don’t restore that we riot
Edited comment to expand upon it:
I agree with your idea’s and would want to add upon it with my own idea’s.
I'm not saying I don't want to K1 robes in the game... just let me have the K2 robes too haha
@@100StarWars Well, now that I have your attention, what do you think the Qel-Droma Robes should look like?
@@deadeye4047 similar to the comics!
If they don’t take the right arm off the Qel-Droma robes, I’m returning the game.
Game: RUUUUUUUUINED.
@@100StarWars that should be an option
I want to see Vima Sunrider in the game as a side character, since she was supposed to be in the original. I also want the game to have you return to the Council on Dantooine; in the original, the game felt so cut off from the rest of the Jedi and you forget about the enclave until the Leviathan. In addition, I would like to see background from the KotOR comics make its way into the game
Vima would be cool! But I highly doubt she'll appear.
Also all the major named npcs need much better models that are clearly distinct from their underlings.
Like Ajunta Pall's ghost, Malak's three apprentices in the DS route, or the Dxun Sith Master from KOTOR 2.
They do, yes.
Agreed on that point! Make the Hawk feel lived in.
Fantastic ideas! Every one of them.
The Yuthura redemption arch was one of my favorite plot lines in the game. I’d love to see more of her.
On the note of Kotor 2 mechanics: crafting/upgrading that's not plugging generic parts into gear and finding out what they do for specifically that
Expanded upgrading would be good!
A bit more diversity in crafting than in kotor 1 would be good but not as convoluted as kotor 2 as I found that the bazillion different pieces for every slot are a bit overwhelming and in the end most of them pretty much do the same things (so most are redundant)
I think for every slot 3-5 different pieces in 2-3 quality tiers would be more than enough
I’ve been bothered by the robes for so long. LET US LOOK LIKE JEDI
AMEN
…am I the only person who liked the Jedi robes in the first game
@@harrykirkham220 yes lol
@@harrykirkham220 yep!
In the prequels it made no sense they all dressed like Luke. Same for KOTOR 2.
The jedi robes thing was such a pet peeve of mine too.
There is potential for those random Sith fighter attacks to be actually fun and not a chore.
I want many more side quests. This way the main story is not changed but it adds to the game world.
No fade to black with Bastilla romance😉
I also think we should have access to KOTOR 2 powers (ie force crush)
Lord Malak was most displeased when he heard you escaped Taris alive
Or maybe include a “starfighter” space battle sequence? Maybe not for every one of the sequences, but maybe during the Taris escape or pre leviathan level
*no fade to black* hahahah
I want not just Sith fights. You stepped on the toes of some pretty nasty criminals when you left Taris, it would follow that you could get randomly jumped by armed thugs sent by czerka corp or the exchange
I would love more randomness to them as well. Like the possibility of them entering in on a random fight during a quest. Would love the sense of "the sith could attack at literally any moment" and either you are prepared or not. Or have a difficulty option for such things.
I think the ability to customize the actual robes with armor, kind of like Obi-Wan and Anakins looks from The Clone Wars would be really cool.
That's fair
Revan and Bastila's romance is the best one, and that is the only thing that cannot be changed!
I agree have a lot of potential
It wasn't that good.

Exactly, if they do it right it has enormous potential.
revan and bastila's love really means something to the plot, it just needs a better
If bastila and Revan are not a straight couple then satele Shan will not come to be since she is the descendent of bastila and Revan
A female character isn’t canon anyway so I’d say let people romance who tf they want to >:c
I want the old soundtracks. Can't even describe how much I love them
I'm sure we'll get them!
Hope they'll add new Starships and Vehicles if you know what I'm saying. Also Hope they'll remake Kotor II and revive Kotor III.
That’s the Goal and the Dream!
@@CD-Freedom Thanks
Remake the KotOR games! Remake the Dream!
That is an awful idea you have one ship, Unless your talking about the swoop racing
@Jordan Spencer Just back off!
You think Shasa would bloat the companions?
That sounds so cool. Present Revan fighting with his past self, like in Jedi Fallen Order when Cal faces of with his master in a vision
gret list. I just hope that they leave the story and charakters mostly intact and add upon it.
Your videos inspired me to play Kotor again after 10 years or so :)

I also hope that they add new lightsaber crystals like the ones In kotor 2 and I hope they add the kotor 2 upgrade system. I think it would be really cool to be able to use lab benches and upgrade items more freely like you do in kotor 2.
I hope we get a secret level after the credits that foreshadows the arrival of the Sith Triumvirate or Darth Vitiate depending on the ending you get.
Only thing I disagree with, is fading the twist does not matter. I still think it does for a new generation. But agree with everything else.
It totally matters so I be careful if you put gameplay in the flashback it really just meant to be a vision.
I'm not saying the twist doesn't matter, I'm saying it can't have the same impact, and thus some of the secrecy of revan should be toned down.
Also, have the skills pop-up in the dialogue options
Like (Awareness) You are afraid
Or
(Computer Use) So it can be sliced
That could give the Revan character an Edge during some situations
Going with the influence system, it would be great if we could have a dark side ending without having to kill all our companions. Revan was supposedly a master of conversion, he brought several characters to the light, I don’t see why he couldn’t bring them over to the dark. Maybe the original was trying to punish you for choosing evil, which I can understand, but if you choose more of a Kreia path of pragmatism you could choose to believe your Sith empire would be better for the galaxy. Revan could regain more of his memories in a side quest and remember the larger threat. Long shot but redeeming Malak would also be cool 😎
For me I need to hear "Mukashaka baka." Over and over. And Bastilla needs to say, "I also tasted the power of the taint within you."
Awesome ideas, especially expanding on things that are mentioned, or were cut from the original version.
expanding, but not changing! That's what we need.
The influence system definitely should return, I kind of want Sleheyron but at the same it could lead to some fundamental changes to Kotor’s story
I wouldnt hold my breath for unchanged romances. That is most definitely going to change.
Introduce more legends races to places that fit them as bystanders or actual interactable NPCs:
Endar Spire - more races into republic military?
Taris (political) - Miraluka refugees, Chiss ambassador/spy, Harch businessmen, Clawdite thief, Anomid gambler, Rattataki criminal, Sarkhai outcast, Arcona beggar
Dantooine (farmers, bandits, social races, and lightside prospects) - Arkanian jedi, Mirialan jedi & farmers, Kel-Dor padawan, Togruta farmer, Lannik farmer, Nagai bandit
Tatooine (arid) - Yinchorri gladiator, Houk thug, Barabel hermit, Kalaanite slave, Besalisk swoop racer, Dathomiri Zabrak bully, Weequay mechanic, Ugnaught vagrant
Manaan (aquatics) - Karkarodons, Vurks, MonCalamari, Quarrens (I only remember them in KoTOR2), Nautolans, Chagrians, Ishi-Tib
Kashyyyk (jungle) - Trandoshans employed by the Empire, Talz hiding among Wookiees, a Selonian gone mad in the forest, a wandering hunter Ewok helping a Wookiee, Gree skeleton
Yavin IV - all that didn't make it to Kashyyyk (continued), Terellian Jango Jumper miniboss, Cathar settlers, Chistori crime lord, Bothan Jedi archeologist, Massassi trapper
Korriban (arid: darkside, gruesome, and/or prodigious initiates) - Zeltrons, Pau'ans, Umbarans, Anzati, Cereans, Falleen, Devaronians, Iktotchi, Elomin
Sleheyron (volcanic) - Sullustian sheriff, Zygerrian bounty hunters and slavers, a Gand fallen jedi darksider on a rampage, Skakoan construction foreman, Khaleesh merchant
Lehon - one crash landed Sith scout? perhaps a Kwa skeleton?
I wouldn't mind seeing both in the remake with different properties and attributes.
but... those robes horrible :((
Another thing from KOTOR 2 that should be introduced into the KOTOR remake is marking lootless/looted containers as "empty". I cannot count how many times I've looked into the same container for loot thinking it was a different container
Hahahaha, a menace that
100% I hate looking through the same container a million times.
I’m sure they will, it’s almost an industry standard at this point. How well they execute it is the main concern.
@@kermitsbodyguard1763agreed. I hope they don't change major characters to make it fit but I can think of a few characters that could be bisexual or gay and it still be a true to the classic game.
Then I would certainly advocate for a a new character to fill that role over an existing one!
Was not expecting the robe thing, but I'm 100% with you!
What if a kotor 2 remake comes? Oh man, I would add a whole of Nihilus' past.
#4 you are completely right. I am so sick and tired of appealing to 1% of the population who do not live in reality. No flak from me. Social Justice is cancer.
Also as far as the mandalalorian wars, I think the content for a full blown prequel game is there.
I'd really like to see the KOTOR 2 crafting and upgrade system in the remake. It was so much more in depth than the first one's
i want to play as darth revan before when he was a sith
If the romances were to be expanded upon, I kinda want an added Romance option for Female Revan via Canderous.
Interesting!
I think you're expecting too much from a remake.
It's probably just gonna be the same game with updated graphics, more supported resolutions, new cinematics, updated animations and maybe some balance fixes, maybe some new abilities added here and there (like lightsaber stances from kotor2) and maybe some restored content.
Totally agree with you on the jedi robes, it's like a uniform for them and makes them stand out from other characters
I was always sad that Yuthura wasn't a companion character. Would love to be given that option.
One thing that I think would make the Revan reveal as big as it should be would be an homage to the I am your father line.
THANK YOU! The robes are menaces :(
Totally agree with your list thoroughly!
I really like the idea of playing as Bastila in flashbacks. One thing they should have is much improved swoop racing.
It's in the dark horse star wars comics when he finds the mandolorian mask.
Fix the leveling issue when you become a Jedi. New players won't like doing the whole hold off from leveling up while still on Taris, forcing them to play extra cautiously until they FINALLY get to Dantooine and get the most level up points for Force powers.
You are a man among boys. Thanks for your videos and for fighting for the integrity of the greatest era in Star Wars
I still have the robes I used when I played Star Wars - The Old Republic , brown when I played Jedi and a black when I played Sith. Yes I´m a NEERD. And yes I will use them again when this game releases.
I agree with all your points, im surprised you didn't include anything about revan having a voice actor, ik some people aren't a big fan of that
Not bothered either way!
I couldn't agree more with everything you said. Couldn't of been more beautifully put!
I totally want them to put Revan’s mask and hood up on his robes this time to to give us the full look Revan!
Oooo, Party banter! That's a great shout. I loved the Dragon Age party banter.
@@100StarWars if you see enough you like how about a follow up video about commenter ideas. With consent of course.
i love your vids you realy know a lot about star wars thanks for sharing your knowledge
The zeison-sha warrior armor was my favorite. High defense for a light armor, plus it doesn't restrict force powers? Sold. Every play through I am sold
friend i completly agree with all the points you make im thinking the same way, problem is i doubt any of it will happen it would cost money and extra work that nowdays is just not "trendy"
you can always rely on your imagintion to make your own kotor expansions
I thought I was the only one who was super urked by the robes in KOTOR 1 😂 thank you
Would like to have subtle customizations like the option to have a hood up on a robe or change the color of armor.
we NEED an endgame. I hate how after the star forge they give you final cinematics then your done. Game over. Start a new save file. No more exploration.
I agree.
You make some interesting points, yuthara Ban would make a great companion!
I never thought of that, her arc is pretty interesting as well.
Your comments on the Robes were hilarious!!
number 1: exploration, YES YES YES YES YES!!!! everything u said here i want !!! such a good idea exploring his past or even some of his dreams would be sooo darn cool
number 2: would be awesome to see a new planet and to explore it with its own storyline 2 it but honestly im not that bothered about seeing more about yuthura but shasa would be cool to see more about her as u said he game cover has selkath on it but they dont really matter all that much in the game
number 3: yes yes yes that was cool idea
number 4: yes i agree, why change who they are just because some people want to romance same sex or or whatever
number 5: im not all that bothered about the robes BUT it would be nice to have jedi in proper jedi outfits rather then these made up onces i guess u could call it if that makes sense
They could certainly do so after the big reveal yes!
One of my biggest pet peeves is the fact you could put up the freaking hoods on the robes in either game😫😫😫
There is a mod for Kotor 1 to have Kotor 2/Prequel Films style robes.
I’d want to see more random gear. In KOTOR 1 every time I played through I knew what I was going to get every time, variety would be fun.
Some of that KOTOR 2 randomness maybe? ;)
Would be interesting!
Agreed!
