    Yeah mate, it's a huge room at a sports center. I train on Thursdays with one sensei in different sports centers and on Sundays with two sensei at the dojo.
    Our idea with Zengogiri is that the first 'men' to the face diables the forward opponent while we cut down the rear one, then return to finish off the first guy.

    I hear you on Hoki Ryu, some really interesting kata there.
    I really enjoy Kissakigaeshi too but it's so hard to do well. I'm guessing the Toho version is as different to the Hoki Ryu original as Maegiri is to Eishin Ryu Mae (having not seen a Hoki Ryu practitioner perform it yet, unfortunately)

    forms are good, the kiai is the kiai of a beginner. don't shout. the shout is only a minor piece of kiai. first get one with the kata. let the energie build up and then it will come out in a naturel way. then you will see that every kiai is different.
