- If you are experiencing a similar noise VW have diagnosed it as a clutch pack replacement.
I bought this used VW Touran 1.4 TSI DSG7 DQ200 from Volkswagen in October 2021, after a few miles I noticed this intermittent squeak (the car had done about 53k mile) I couldn't figure out where it was coming from it has occured a couple of times since then. 6 months later and approx +2k miles it has come back and is much more prominent.
My experience of buying a used volkswagen has been very disappointing. A month after purchasing the car it had a check engine light, the VW dealer did a software update.
Anyone has a TPI Number for this? Experiencing same issue only during uphill stop-go...
Solution:never buy DSG again never ever , it’s the biggest piece of dog shit
Why tho, apart from this issue
I have same issue 21 plate Octavia Skoda done diognostic and say clutch some sort of mechanical failure they doing it under warranty
Hey i have same problem what it is?
I have the same noise. Dealer is going to change clutch pack. They told me dmf is not needed is this true?
Recently I have only heard a noise when the engine is warm and when high revs are reached. but Only when you stand still do you hear a rotating something such as a lower or grinding sound that rotates. there is nothing wrong with driving. Cold engine, can't it come out of the box?
I have the same thing. I went to a volkswagen dealership and it is the clutch that needs to be changed (supported free of charge) and the gearbox needs to be updated.
Did this work on you or how did you solve it ?
@@mwingagm7226 Yes, it worked. Skoda (Volkswagen store) paid for the clutch replacement and I've had no more problems.
Isn't it the turbo/air system?
No, in my case it was the clutch pack.
@@ohshootvidz thanks for the response! Is it still OK to carry on driving with this noise coming from the clutch?
@@ft4127 i would say yes but get it seen to sooner rather than later to be on the safe side. Avoid heavy loads towing driving up steep hills would be my advice.
I had same issue - got the clutch changed then mechanic discovered issue with mechatronics unit… so had to get a brand new unit 😢 so much money! Still waiting for it to arrive though as it’s made to order from vw
any updates ? what is your car model and engine ?
Did you find the problem for the noise? I have the same exact sound
yes it was the clutch pack, VW replaced it. Their customer services and the garage I bought it from covered the costs as I had only had the vehicle 6 months used car. £1800-2000 fix so I was happy.
I'm hoping the part has been improved over the years to avoid it re-occuring anytime soon. I have another issue with the door mirror switch it fell off VW quality has really deteriorated :) video coming soon.
@@ohshootvidz that is a lot of money how long can i last with this problem on your opinion ?
@@JustNamelessThings how many miles have you driven on the car? i'm no expert but the mechanic who worked on my car said this will happen around 60-80k miles he said it could affect other parts like the like the flywheel if you don't get it fixed.
Same problem 30000km
Had the same issue recently, clutch pack replaced so far so good. Unfortunately mine was not covered by warranty as it was a used car.
How much did it cost you?
How much was it to get replaced ?
£1750 went to and indy who had come across this problem before.
Hi, I have a similar issue. Do you have the VW TPI reference number for this fault?
Hi Richard, I will have a look through the documentation and see if it mentions a TPI reference number… I don’t remember seeing one.
Using this video the technicians were able to recreate the problem and replaced clutch pack.
In my case VW covered the cost as it was a used car and I only had it a few months and sales team didn’t notice the noise when inspecting the car. Privately the best quote I got at the time was about £1195 fitted inc VAT.
18months since they fixed it and i’ve had no further issues.
