Thanks for the tip about the pen. This would be a great way to decorate a Christmas Stocking!! I appreciate all your tutorials giving the basics. Thank you!
sorry, I didn't get the point (forgive the pun) of that.... I wish you had shown the image as it developed further, as it was just two clumps of wool and nowhere near the original spirally thing as far as I could see....I couldn't understand what was happening... is the needle driving the wool deep into the fabric or something? do you then cut it or shave it? what does the finished picture look like?
Agreed. It was incomplete and rushed and really the only thing I learned was how to trace and iron on the image which taught me little to nothing about felting the project.
Hello and thanks for writing. Yes, the transfer pen will still work after it has dried, there is no rush :) It really is a great tool to work with. We wish you great fun and please share any of your creations on our facebook page, just go to facebook and search Living Felt
Could you do a tutorial on needle felting on to wet felted projects? I've made a red cat cave that I'd love to add yellow 'seeds' to make it look like a strawberry but I'm scared of ruining what I've already made. Sorry if you have made one and I'm not looking properly. :-) Love all the tutorials I've seen so far btw! There so helpful.
You can surely needle felt onto items that have been wet felted. I am ... for something low risk and simple...we do this all the time on pictures, and completed projects of all types. I will think about whether we have this specific tutorial, or can make one, but consider testing on a small felted ball or Easter egg...can be helpful to work out your design/colors also. Here is a felted cat cave by one of our customers who needle felted on designs afterwards: livingfelt.wordpress.com/2014/07/15/cozy-felted-cat-cave/
Hi Jazzmonkeyification -- The iron on technique? Indeed. As long as you can iron the fabric -- but you can use a cloth barrier. It works really well. If you mean needle feltng? It will work best on fabrics with somewhat of an open weave - including a denim or canvas or linen..but also on fleece. I the fabric is too delicate it may "run", if it is too tightly woven, it may pucker. That will depend on your design. Best o TEST :O)

What is the name of white meterial you used for base? Is it available online to buy. Thank you.

I was just about to write the same, I was expecting a tutorial... This is more like a department store demo showing you what is in a kit 🙄

Nice!
Can this technique be used on any fabric?

Oh no rush at all! The pen will iron onto your design after dry! :)
Do you have to work fast with the transfer pen? Will it still transfer if the pen lines have dried?
What's the name of the pen please. Great idea
