I had until winter solder. Still my personal favorite MCU film although I might enjoy a few others more I still think it's the best made film in the MCU. Although i do have say I have a bias since cap is by far my favorite character
@@SL-ho6ef Winter Soldier is one of those that fell of a cliff for me on rewatch since it is a lot less interesting when you know what's happening and the twists are really boring and doesn't matter beyond the TV show I don't watch. It also is the biggest offender of the "Oh no they're dead, but not really". Pretty much all the Russo movies except for Civil War has that issue and they all have really bad action staging.
I think he definitely likes the MCU the best out of all these "my friend watches series" just the fact that he likes any of these movies is pretty amazing considering how he much hates every other fantasy/science fiction franchises they have shown him tie now. that might be a testate to how much variety there is in the MCU that there are movies for just about everyone in this series unlike Star Wars or Harry potter where you get a few movies in and you can kinda tell if this is going to be your type of thing or not.
So at the time they made the movie "homeboy" as Matt calls him or to us Quicksilver was also owned by fox so Disney and fox shared his character on screen. Whedon shot 2 different endings with quicksilver him dying and him alive at the end. But sadly he was killed at the end of Age of Ultron mainly becasue of sharing the characters movie rights.

Mohsin Amir he already has it during ragnarok (2017). this was 2015. in infinity war we see that he’s been on this mission for ~30 years as he abducts young gamora. he’s been to many worlds. thor is over 1500 years old. no one has probably visited the dwarves in hundreds of years. thanos could have easily had it made and slaughtered them before AoU (2015) and infinity war (2018).
Avengers 1 and 2 have a lot of psychology in them-Joss Whedon has a lot of knowledge of psychoanalysis and developing characters with a strong psychological foundation. If you went all the way back to his show Buffy the vampire slayer you can see more of this psychology being implemented into his works

From my experience, i went to see it in theaters. Everyone liked it, the action was great, good quips, new character developments, and even some philosophical debate. But soon after i started hearing people nit pick it a lot, a lot of youtube videos came out sorta debating if it was good at all as a marvel movie. Not sure why but even after seeing it several times it doesn't lose its luster much. All around a good one. Also i thought age of ultron was the end of phase 2, is it not anymore? Cuz when i look at ant man as the end of phase 2 it doesn't feel as good.

You can't make me believe that Odin improvising the enchantment onto Thor's hammer just with his words is science lol. But that's good, you gotta pick between science and magic and stay consistent, because if you switch the explanation inbetween it's very disappointing.
i think his role is just so big in this movie some people actually forget he was even in the first Thor and Avengers film. his appearance in Thor is nothing more than a cameo and his role in Avengers one is easily the most forgettable part of that movie. this is the first movie to actually develop him as a character. he was just sorta the guy with the bow and arrow before this movie
I kinda feel like Age of Ultron doesn't really get appreciated until after Infinity War and Endgame, and seeing how it sets up a large portion of phase 3.
It's all because of fox. I can't remember the specifics but they had certain rules with the sharing arrangement that from memory basically said he couldn't be an Avenger which is why they killed him. I was super disappointed because he was my favorite Avenger at the time and i was so hyped to finally see him in live action...... I didn't see that coming.
Well since we're on lockdown; I'm going to watch all these again in order, catch up to where you are. Watch your reaction before I watch the film. I've never watched them in order as I only got into it last year, I watched Endgame before Black Panther and Ant Man 2 haha
I was never too into the Marvel movies but I marathoned them all in order before I watched Endgame. It was a pretty cool experience, I recommend it. Tbh I wish we saw more of Black Widow and Bruce Banner’s relationship growing throughout the series because it felt a little forced to me. Otherwise it was a cool experience to watch them all in order.
I'll take a second opinion here from the "What are ya, an idiot?" I actually really like that Matt has found a way to increase his suspension of disbelief. I'm glad to see he's enjoying these a bit more.
Outside of the big reactions from Matt, seeing the small smiles he had while certain parts/scenes of the film were playing... that was adorable and heart-warming to see him thoroughly enjoying himself without having to be super energetic about it (Originally posted this on Patreon but had to put this here as well)
I also loved AoU. The opening where the slow mo of them all in line was like a splash page, same with the camera pan at the climax. Almost like a comic splash page come to life. Only one thing I didn’t really like was giving Ultron expressions. It’s a small gripe, it’s fine but I like the Ultron faces of all the Ultron robots, the traditional Ultron design more and feel like with no expressions he would’ve felt more menacing as far as looks go. Looooved Spader as Ultron though. Perfect voice for him. Great performance.
I kinda hope they dont. Because if they keep this up, they'll watch Infinity and ant man and the wasp on the same night and captain marvel and endgame on the same night too. Both infinity war and endgame need a little room to breathe and meditate on imo. Especially since ant man and the wasp and captain marvel are probably two of the most average phase 3 movies imo

Holden said it best in another video when he said "in star wars you can love all the movies and still not be considered a true fan". I love that everyone has different tier lists, favorites and worsts here and with the exception of some captain marvel backlash you don't really get harassed for liking/not liking any particular movie.

You can't make me believe that Odin improvising the enchantment onto Thor's hammer just with his words is science lol. But that's good, you gotta pick between science and magic and stay consistent, because if you switch the explanation inbetween it's very disappointing.

i think his role is just so big in this movie some people actually forget he was even in the first Thor and Avengers film. his appearance in Thor is nothing more than a cameo and his role in Avengers one is easily the most forgettable part of that movie. this is the first movie to actually develop him as a character. he was just sorta the guy with the bow and arrow before this movie

I kinda feel like Age of Ultron doesn't really get appreciated until after Infinity War and Endgame, and seeing how it sets up a large portion of phase 3.
The only thing I hate about this movie is that they wasted quicksilver
It's all because of fox. I can't remember the specifics but they had certain rules with the sharing arrangement that from memory basically said he couldn't be an Avenger which is why they killed him. I was super disappointed because he was my favorite Avenger at the time and i was so hyped to finally see him in live action...... I didn't see that coming.

I was never too into the Marvel movies but I marathoned them all in order before I watched Endgame. It was a pretty cool experience, I recommend it. Tbh I wish we saw more of Black Widow and Bruce Banner’s relationship growing throughout the series because it felt a little forced to me. Otherwise it was a cool experience to watch them all in order.

I'll take a second opinion here from the "What are ya, an idiot?" I actually really like that Matt has found a way to increase his suspension of disbelief. I'm glad to see he's enjoying these a bit more.

Outside of the big reactions from Matt, seeing the small smiles he had while certain parts/scenes of the film were playing... that was adorable and heart-warming to see him thoroughly enjoying himself without having to be super energetic about it

I also loved AoU. The opening where the slow mo of them all in line was like a splash page, same with the camera pan at the climax. Almost like a comic splash page come to life.
Only one thing I didn’t really like was giving Ultron expressions. It’s a small gripe, it’s fine but I like the Ultron faces of all the Ultron robots, the traditional Ultron design more and feel like with no expressions he would’ve felt more menacing as far as looks go. Looooved Spader as Ultron though. Perfect voice for him. Great performance.

I kinda hope they dont. Because if they keep this up, they'll watch Infinity and ant man and the wasp on the same night and captain marvel and endgame on the same night too. Both infinity war and endgame need a little room to breathe and meditate on imo. Especially since ant man and the wasp and captain marvel are probably two of the most average phase 3 movies imo

Holden said it best in another video when he said "in star wars you can love all the movies and still not be considered a true fan". I love that everyone has different tier lists, favorites and worsts here and with the exception of some captain marvel backlash you don't really get harassed for liking/not liking any particular movie.
