These videos work on so many levels. For one, it isn't your usual 'react' video and you guys are reacting to something about 90% of viewers have seen and will mutually wonder how Matt hasn't seen these movies. Two, MATT. One of the many things I love about Ant-Man is actually not within the movie itself but the promotion for the movie. Seeing an all white movie poster with a tiny Ant-Man on it really was clever advertisement. Also, the movie itself feels contained while being in the whole of MCU and that was refreshing to me.
Look at Matt slowly coming to the DARK SIDE 🖤 and by dark side I mean being one with the NERDS as he calls it! Talking about vibranium and getting so excited about the teasers! Welcome Brah! 🤣🤙🏻👏🏻
Oh, catching a Saturday morning upload is like waking up and watching cartoons as a kid on the weekend. Abso-freakin-lutely delightful. Love the series Holden & friends. Keep it up 😊
I was thinking the same thing. Winter Soldier was the most grounded, close to being possible to happen in reality movie the MCU made. I don't think there's actually any reasoning behind liking what they like. Rating Ant-Man over Winter Soldier? I'm shook, 😂.
I liked Cats. You just need to go into it with the proper expectation: people dressed as cats singing about cats. Sure the added effects was uncanny when the characters seem to be a cross between human and cat, but they weren’t that different from the live musical.
Hank Pym (Ant-Man) and Janet Van Dyne (the Wasp) were founding members of the Avengers in the Silver Age comics, alongside Captain America, Iron Man and Thor. The first threat they faced (and why they formed a team in the first place) was the Hulk.
Just finished benching all these “first time watching- MCU” videos from the start, this came out just as i was watching Age of Ultron, can’t wait for the rest. (Love the “arc/progression” of Matt and everyone here, it’s very clear and understandable where everyone comes from, and their journey, opinions and “personal taste” for each movie) 8/10- kinda wish the videos would last just a bit longer and i could see more of the reactions.
I love these movies are slowing growing on Matt..... and phase 3 gets more and more unique with time so I’m definitely interested to see the reactions. Keep up the great content!
I want to see Matt’s reaction to Spider-Man Homecoming and maybe even the Amazing movies just to compare them to the Rami Trilogy since he likes them so much. Personally I like all interpretations I think they all have things that they do very well in regards to the character.
15K views in an hour congrats Holden. Love your videos. Quick Camera Work comment though: Sometime when Matt is shooting you, @13:20, his sway can becoming rhythmic and could cause motion sickness effect. We all know he's the actor and your the director in these videos anyway so a little handicap can be given... PS. Cats for Jenna!
This is it the next movie is where's Matt will say it Matt is going to watch Civil War and say "that should have been called Avengers: Civil War." the next movie
Them liking this movie was such a relief. Personally i really enjoy this movie and i think they did a really good job finding a line between not taking themselves too seriously but also not being a parody of themselves. With a character like ant-man it could easily go wrong but they managed to do it good. Also i am a HUGE Paul Rudd fan so i am really happy for him getting an opportunity to show his acting skills to a bigger audience. I love you guys! Holden keep up the good work man! Can't wait for the next video. (I am from Turkey so sorry for the mistakes)
I really just wanted to say thanks to Holden for doing this. I mean, sure you get money but the fact that you spend hours and hours editing this video is just great to me. Really. It sure takes a lot of effort to do this so thanks Holden.
I remember when Ant-Man was being released, I thought hmmm okay this could be pretty cool, my friend on the other had said "Ant-man, urgh" its gonna be trash lol. A lot of people were't too excited about Ant-Man but I felt like if the MCU is killing it with their lesser known characters up to this point I could get behind this one too.
Honestly recently i’ve been having a pretty tough time. But seeing your videos always puts a smile on my face. Thank you Holden for making such great and entertaining videos. And thank you for always being able to cheer me up. Much love! P.S. I love you Matt
After you guys have watched every MCU Movie, you should have Matt do a tier list of them. I think it would be interesting to see how he would rank them in the end.
For Civil War, Holden should dress like Captain America and Matt should dress like Iron Man while Jenna should wear a shirt that just says “sokovia accords” in the center.
14:55 I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks this about Falcon. He's a guy with a cool jetpack, like a faster version of Rhodey, but without the firepower. Anyways, Ant-Man is very interesting in retrospect. He comes into the series from a different place than the other Earth-based heroes. He demonstrates how some problems need to be seen and solved by thinking outside the box; Stark and Banner may be brilliant scientists, but they're not the only ones. I'd say more, but I'm not going to spoil anything. Just keep that momentum building. Civil War is coming up next, and **** is about to get real.
Matt has shown so much character growth. This one is pretty good, can't wait for Civil War. I was the first person to say that they were gonna watch cats, and im way to proud of that.
@@CrazeeAdam - Hmmm, no: Black Panther has super powers from the Heart-Shaped Herb that grows in Wakanda and Winter Soldier was experimented on by Arnim Zola with a serum derived from the formula that created the red Skull; but Black Widow and Hawk Eue are accurate.
I came into this one knowing nothing about the character except he could shrink, and something else that's spoilers for a certain movie This one was definitely needed in the series IMO. Very light hearted, great comedic timing, lots of visual gags that work every time I watch it...honestly this is one that I watch over and over the most out of the MCU. Personally, I'm in love with the sequel as well, but I know a lot of people don't, and honestly idk why.
This episode is a great example of when the channel is at its best. The entire reaction segment was entertaining and towards then end you guys were really elaborated on your points.
I love Matt's enthusiasm even when it's going into a movie he isn't exactly looking forward to. Also I love that he liked the Raimi Spider-Man trilogy so much it's my favorite trilogy as well!
I tend to forget little things about MCU. Like how cool was that after credit scene. Falcon got his ass handed to him in a 1v1 against the Ant-Man, but he recognized him to not be 'a villain' and decided to ask for his help in CW. Just moments like these are so amazing for the worldbuilding.
Started watching your vids a few months ago and I feel like you guys have gotten a lot more funny and natural on camera. Finally subbed. Keep up the great work!
I feel like Holden explained it very well last episode (I think) when he said that how far you can suspend your disbelief depends on how well the rules of a fictional movie/book/game are set up and how well the material follows said rules. That’s why Matt’s S-o-D broke when Ant-Man got out of the Quantum Realm, because in his mind it broke the rules the movie had established. It’s really fascinating how that works.
Hey Holdman, just went through and watched all your videos on Star Wars and all through the MCU movies and am loving hearing Matt’s thoughts on it. Keep all these videos coming! The only critique I have is I would love to see his reactions during the movies even more. Through all of them you seem to be cutting away as the movie finishes a big moment, but Matt hasn’t had a chance to react. For example if there’s a joke, you cut immediately as the punchline has finished being spoken which gives no time to see Matt’s reaction. Just want to see you hold slightly longer on it. I wouldn’t mention it otherwise but seeing as his reaction is the focus of the videos I thought I’d share. This is my only criticism, loving the content otherwise! Specifically liking how Matt is even has his own “character arc” (if you will) on how he’s coming to accept this genre and really getting into the movies and the characters. Can’t wait for the next one!
I'm really happy youtube suggested your channel to me. i love watching Matt and Jenna's reactions to the MCU. as for the Cats movie, the only way i would recommend watching that movie is if you watched the "butthole cut" version if it ever gets released. I would be interested to see all 3 of your reactions to an older movie called Stargate (staring Kurt Russel and James Spader). the movie spawned 3 tv series and 2 straight to dvd movies and has a huge fanbase.
Glad Matt liked Ant-Man! The best part of the movie is definitely the humour. This is definitely one of the more unique entries in the MCU because it's one part comedy movie, one part heist movie, and one part superhero movie.
Make sure to check out behind the scenes of this video on Matt's channel!

Jenna every MCU movie: "This is the one I'm most excited for."
I've been going through your guys' channel again and again over the last week waiting for a new video to get uploaded!!!!
Man sucks that we won’t be getting a friends react to Falcon and the Winter Soldier I want to see Matt’s reaction to that.. miss him and Jena already
Keep up the good work! Love coming from East Hill
This really is my favourite series during lockdown. Thanks.
So you’re telling me that Matt has never seen basically any movies, but he’s a huge T.I. Fan?
awesome lol T.I. is the king
That’s all she wrote
I wouldn’t say he’s king 😬
He must be from the south lol, T.I is also from the south.
@@alphacat667 He is indeed.
Antman is definitely one of my favorite MCU films. I expected Matt to like this one, just because it’s different from most of the other films.
Oh, catching a Saturday morning upload is like waking up and watching cartoons as a kid on the weekend. Abso-freakin-lutely delightful. Love the series Holden & friends. Keep it up 😊
He likes grounded movies yet didn’t like Captain America: The Winter Solider
I was thinking the same thing. Winter Soldier was the most grounded, close to being possible to happen in reality movie the MCU made. I don't think there's actually any reasoning behind liking what they like. Rating Ant-Man over Winter Soldier? I'm shook, 😂.
MummRa 'The Everliving' Cause people overhyped WS in the comments
@@Anonymous-ve7pi yeah, I can see over hyping killing it. Cap 2 was a slow burn, so hype would make it seem boring.
MummRa 'The Everliving' Agreeed
probably cause it was so overhyped by holden which made matt expect so much
I loved hearing matt cooking in the background at the start lol
I liked Cats. You just need to go into it with the proper expectation: people dressed as cats singing about cats. Sure the added effects was uncanny when the characters seem to be a cross between human and cat, but they weren’t that different from the live musical.
Hank Pym (Ant-Man) and Janet Van Dyne (the Wasp) were founding members of the Avengers in the Silver Age comics, alongside Captain America, Iron Man and Thor. The first threat they faced (and why they formed a team in the first place) was the Hulk.
When you think you are early and read comments from yesterday
@Adam Alkhatib patreon members get it early when its unlisted im pretty sure
@@LooseTongueTim Yeah, they can watch the video early.
They upload these videos like a week or so early and post them private and send links to their Pateron.
Just finished benching all these “first time watching- MCU” videos from the start, this came out just as i was watching Age of Ultron, can’t wait for the rest.
(Love the “arc/progression” of Matt and everyone here, it’s very clear and understandable where everyone comes from, and their journey, opinions and “personal taste” for each movie)
8/10- kinda wish the videos would last just a bit longer and i could see more of the reactions.
Watch "The Watchmen" . Matt is gonna get a lot of amazing quotes from it... 😊
Yesss! Directors cut
I come to these videos first and foremost to see if Holden is eating a burrito - And I was NOT disappointed here! xD
Can't wait for phase 3, love Matt's reactions and seeing him grow into the series.
When Matt has low expectations he always likes the movie
Me: I wonder when the next mcu video will come out...
Holden: We're watching CATS!!!!
I really just wanted to say thanks to Holden for doing this. I mean, sure you get money but the fact that you spend hours and hours editing this video is just great to me. Really. It sure takes a lot of effort to do this so thanks Holden.
Thank you for the kind words!
I had to convince my usual Marvel group to watch it with me, but they were glad that they did in the end.
Honestly recently i’ve been having a pretty tough time. But seeing your videos always puts a smile on my face. Thank you Holden for making such great and entertaining videos. And thank you for always being able to cheer me up. Much love! P.S. I love you Matt
The first director of this movie before his replacement was Edgar Wright. He's a genious of comedy.
I AM GOING TO START A RIOT FOR CATS!!
These videos are becoming the best entertainment of my week. Pretty good guys!
No love for Luis? Oh man... That guy's the best thing in the movie 🤣
Making my way through all these and i'm so invested in Matt's journey here. Man's got an arc and I respect his opinions.
Matt: "I have to pretend this is happening, like ground it in reality"
Also Matt: "Falcon's powers are pretty pathetic"
This video series really helps add some fun into quarantine. It’s so good!!!
Matt has shown so much character growth. This one is pretty good, can't wait for Civil War. I was the first person to say that they were gonna watch cats, and im way to proud of that.
Wait you think I’ve had character growth?........😭🥳🥳🥳
@@MattLaneFitness Right along side Tony 🤣😂. Dont know why I didn't see this earlier.
I really don't know why I'm so committed to Matts Marvel journey... but we came this far! Lets Go!
Matt Rogan: "it's entirely possible"
Hey thanks for making that video. Love ya all, I hope you'll like future movies like me and Holden
Please advise Matt that Tony Stark, like Falcon, does not have any powers either: Tony Stark just has an OP jet pack that covers his whole body. 😉
Also Black Widow, Hawk Eye, Black Panther, Winter Solider, and more xD
@@CrazeeAdam - Hmmm, no: Black Panther has super powers from the Heart-Shaped Herb that grows in Wakanda and Winter Soldier was experimented on by Arnim Zola with a serum derived from the formula that created the red Skull; but Black Widow and Hawk Eue are accurate.
I came into this one knowing nothing about the character except he could shrink, and something else that's spoilers for a certain movie
This one was definitely needed in the series IMO. Very light hearted, great comedic timing, lots of visual gags that work every time I watch it...honestly this is one that I watch over and over the most out of the MCU.
Personally, I'm in love with the sequel as well, but I know a lot of people don't, and honestly idk why.
Weird suggestion, but would love to see you react to "The Man From Earth"
I feel like he'll either absolutely love "The Man from Earth" or find it very boring. I LOVED it!
@@billybang00 Same here, I think it's great, but it does divide people
This episode is a great example of when the channel is at its best. The entire reaction segment was entertaining and towards then end you guys were really elaborated on your points.
I would really like to see the how to train your dragon trilogy
He wont like it.
suupre, true
Lmao Matt literally described iron man while describing falcon, both have their “suits” that break all the time
"Bye Gone Gym"
Jim
I love Matt's enthusiasm even when it's going into a movie he isn't exactly looking forward to. Also I love that he liked the Raimi Spider-Man trilogy so much it's my favorite trilogy as well!
Nooooooo keep going dont break the momentum, he is liking it, dont give him a notion of reality or he can go to the dark side again
Nah, they need a palate cleanser. They still got alot of mcu movies to get through
I can't wait for Matt and Jenna to watch Phase 3. Really anxious to hear what they think of it.
You should watch The Room by Tommy Wiseau next. A masterpiece.
YES!!! PLEASE!
My Homeboy Matt has grown so much. This is gorgeous.
Furries: *the movie*
(Cats in a nutshell)
I tend to forget little things about MCU. Like how cool was that after credit scene. Falcon got his ass handed to him in a 1v1 against the Ant-Man, but he recognized him to not be 'a villain' and decided to ask for his help in CW. Just moments like these are so amazing for the worldbuilding.
Please watch Cats so we don’t have to
Not sure if we’ll jump on this so called landmine.
Matt Lane Fitness lol
Matt Lane Fitness hi Matt
Started watching your vids a few months ago and I feel like you guys have gotten a lot more funny and natural on camera. Finally subbed. Keep up the great work!
That thumbnail is the Mona Lisa replacement
He’s really coming around on these movies. I think he’s going to love Thor Ragnarok, Infinity War, and End game
Glad Matt liked Ant-Man! The best part of the movie is definitely the humour. This is definitely one of the more unique entries in the MCU because it's one part comedy movie, one part heist movie, and one part superhero movie.
