    Wow congratulations, I'm Brazilian and I'm starting studies to apply for the CPA, and moving to the USA, it's great to see stories like yours

      Thanks so much! Good for you, our industry is in need of more CPAs. We are struggling to find new talent. I think the U.S. pays more to CPAs than some other countries too. We just interviewed someone relocating from Canada because the wages for CPAs there are so low. Good luck studying! Let me know if you would like to see any videos specific to getting or being a CPA.

      @@BrittanyJanaeCPA Yes, the payments are lower here, and in the USA it pays much better, I hope to get a job to get used to the routine if I know of any opportunities, and yes I would like a video on how to obtain the CPA

    That's interesting to hear. In MA you can sit for the exam with a bachelors and get the education later or at the same time.

    • @BrittanyJanaeCPA
      @BrittanyJanaeCPA  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      You can do the same in VA, you just have to certain courses before you sit and the courses I took in undergrad didn’t satisfy the requirements. I was so mad lol because I wanted to sit my first semester of grad school, but I had to wait.

      Hey thank you for this information very helpful. I also want you to take the MS in accounting at ODU, would you say they prepare students for the CPA exam? I am looking for internships while studying , does ODU partners with firms for internship?

      @@jypymix20001 I went to the University of phoenix for undergrad. And for the MS i'm going to Isenburg University of massachusetts amherst, they have an online class option AND they are partnered with the big 4. There curriculum is also centered around getting your CPA. And they have internships.

    I find the most successful candidates are the recent college graduates. The theoretical concepts are still fresh.

    • @BrittanyJanaeCPA
      @BrittanyJanaeCPA  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      That makes sense. They also don't have a lot of work experience which can sometimes counter what we learned in school. I know when I first started in public accounting it was so different than school. You are also used to studying if you do it right after graduating.

    This video was helpful! Just curious how many months you studied for each exam and just to clarify, you only read the book and did the MCQ's for each exam?

    • @BrittanyJanaeCPA
      @BrittanyJanaeCPA  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m glad it was helpful! I would say I studied between 1-1.5 months per section. I would study about 15-20 hours per week. And yes, for the most part I would just read the study material and take the exams then focus on what I didn’t understand. I would look for other avenues to study for topics I was having a hard time grasping like watching TH-cam videos. I also had a subscription to Ninja Warrior for a little extra practice. Wiley also provided a flash card book that I ready through occasionally.

    Hi, If you couldn’t grasp a chapter or concept did you study it until you learned it or did you move on?

    • @BrittanyJanaeCPA
      @BrittanyJanaeCPA  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hey! It would really depend on how big the topic was. If I wasn't grasping big topics, I wouldn't move on until I understood it. I would keep studying and taking the practice exams until it was obvious I understood the material. If it was a smaller topic in the grand scheme of things I would just move on. The study software you use should make it clear which topics might be more important than others based on what they focus on. You should also be able to find blueprints of each section on the AICPA webite.
