Why I Said F*ck It & Started A TH-cam Channel!
Hello! Thanks for the video. Have you taken any tuitions or is it all self study? I have done CPA Australia and planning to move to USA next year. So please let me know if the material will be enough to study.
@yashPatel-e7s you are very welcome! You have to have 150 credit hours from a university to include a Bachelors Degree to be able to sit for the exam. However the material to study for the exam is all self study. You don’t need to take any additional classes to study for the exam. I hope that helps!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Very helpful!
You are so welcome! I’m glad that you found it helpful 😊
I want to know how to tackle simulations. I have taken FAR so many times, and the sims just don’t stick. What I find is that in the exam it’s much harder than my studies
@mariahgoss1936 I think you should practice taking more simulations. Also, focus on understanding the concept when you are practicing, as the simulations are going to always be different. Keep taking simulation only practice exams until you’re scoring above an 85. . Who do you use as a study provider?
Congratulations 🎉
Thank you!! Almost there 😊

I graduated from NSU with my Bachelor's in Accounting! I have my MBA as well from 6 years ago but I'm struggling to get started and actually staying consistent. I should have completed the exam right after graduating with my MBA. Do you have your own tax business?
Okkayy NSU! You're close to home. Good for you! It's ok that you decided to wait. You just have to commit to taking it on, once you start you have to finish. I know you can do it, it just takes a shift in your mindset! hi can you mention again the study material you used ?
Hi! I used Wiley, I also supplemented with Ninja closer to the exam.
Im in school to be a nurse and plan on getting my MACC in accounting specializing in taxation after I become a nurse. I already have a bachelor's degree in education and an associates degree in education (former teacher here). I am planning on pursuing the EA credential and just be a plain on tax accountant. I want to practice as a nurse and tax accountant. I want to work as a travel nurse and would love to work as a tax accountant/EA freely. The CPA designation will force me to have to stay in one state or keep applying for reciprocity just to travel or move to another state. I think getting an EA and MACC in accounting works better for me. I already have almost 200 credit hours of education already and wont graduate until next fall with ny nursing degree. Im already a tax preparer and just applied to work at a local tax firm for the 2024 year tax season. I wouldn't mind getting a CPA...I wouldn't mind becoming a tax manager. Im just not ready to plant roots yet in just one state. I can move freely as an EA. I will make good money as both a nurse and EA/tax accountant and wouldn't need my CPA. May have to settle for being a senior tax accountant and nix the tax manager dream because Im tired of school, lol.
@REXS10 Wow, you are very ambitious and have big plans! I think that either option, EA or CPA, would both serve you well. You can always work remotely part time at an accounting firm where you want to claim your main place of residency, get your CPA there, and just practice their remotely. The best thing about getting your CPA is you can really do whatever you want with it. You can start your own business or work at a firm. It really depends on where you want your life to go. Being a travel nurse sounds very demanding though. Would you still work during tax season with traveling as a nurse. Both are very high paying careers and if you can find the right mix of both then that would be amazing! Also, I feel you on being tired of school lol.
I'm patiently waiting for your CPA Coaching program. I have a Bachelors degree in Accounting and I wish to start my CPA journey January 2025. I do need all the tips to succeed. Thank you much much Brittany!
@Tee-237 That's so exciting! You really motivated me to get this Coaching program finished and released. I will make sure that TH-cam is the 1st place I announce it and hopefully we get to work together in the future. Good luck on your journey!!

What are some solid tips for a FT worker - how do actually retain so much in such a short time. I am currently scheduled in December to take FAR. I just started studying 2 weeks now.
@@terrelmurray1613 I would try to find an accountability buddy to help keep you both on track. Also, I would try to figure out the best time of day that you feel you retain the most knowledge. For me that was in the morning before work, this makes life more manageable because I can still have a social life after work, while still getting a good amount of studying in .
@terrelmurray1613 Great question, I worked multiple part time jobs and was in school full time when I took first section, AUD. I think to make sure you get your hours in and actually retain the information you should be study a little bit everyday. I studied 2 hours a day M-F and anywhere from 4-8 hours on Sat & Sun, depending on my schedule. I think December is very doable for you if you make sure to get your hours and you that you actually understand the material. You will see if you are retaining info as you go through the MCQs and the practice exams. Make sure that if you do feel you have a good grasp on info, move on to the next. No point in studying the same info over and over if you already understand. Just make sure to include it when you study the overall section. Good luck on your journey!!
Thank you for sharing, I am almost done with my associate's degree in accounting and will be starting my BA in accounting, then plan to get my CPA. Intermediate accounting 2 is kicking my behind right now but i am trying to keep my eyes on the prize.
@ladyshiloh19 that sounds like a great plan! Give your full focus on what is in front of you at that time. You can do it! I failed Intermediate Accounting 301 the first time if that makes you feel any better lol. So, just keep going no matter how many times you get kicked in the butt lol. And If you need any extra help, I currently tutor on Wyzant for Tax and Financial Accounting.
This was helpful! I plan getting the accounting courses I need, and then taking the exam after. I would appreciate a video on how non-accounting but business majors can meet the requirements.

@@ruthgebreyes6897 I used Ninja! And I found it very helpful. They were similar to the exam questions yes. They offer more practice questions that with your study provider. It was a good supplement for me.
My accounting teacher in high school told me about a story of a girl who didn't get a single thing wrong in the entire class until she took the advanced version of the class the following year; he said, "by the end of it, she probably knew more about accounting than I do, even now." He then went on to say that she passed the CPA exam...in *ONE TRY.* "No one passes it in one try. It just...doesn't happen! There's no way!" 💀 Sorry it's kinda not related but this video inspired me to share this story. I've wanted to for a long time lol
@elderlycatpatriot don’t be sorry lol, I appreciate you sharing! No offense to your accounting teacher, but that just not true lol. I know lots of people who took every part once. It’s def possible for anyone to do with the right plan for them!
Debt summary
I'm interested in going to school for accounting so I was thinking of doing a 2 year Associate's degrees to test how I like it, then transfer to a University and pursue my Bachelors. Would that make sense to do or should I just go straight into my Bachelors, to avoid troubles with transferring credits and/or doubts from potential jobs from only had 2 years of a Bachelors course.
@keonwilliams5099 Hey! I don't think it matters which route you take. At the end of the day as long as you have credits that are transferable you will be ok. I don't think companies care which route you go as long as you have your Bachelors at least. Hope that helps!
I tried many times for the Aud exam but I Didn't succeed Can you please someone give me advice
@mehtabhussain9117 my advice would be to analyze your study plan and make some changes. I'm assuming that will make a big difference. Figure out how you retain information best then adjust your study techniques/plan to make them work better for you. I just started coaching CPA candidates who are on their exam journey. You go girl!
Thank you girl! I'm trying lol.
You guys.. have the collections agency prove you owe whatever bill you owe. They have 30 days to prove it. If not, it’s their loss and your win. Next, understand that they auctioned for your “debt” .. meaning they paid a small amount to take it on, and the actual facility /organization that you owe has chucked up their loss and already received your monies in the sense of insurance . Meaning, they have loss prevention and their insurance has covered their loss due to your nonpayment. THIS is why these collection agency’s are so “willing” to give you discounts that can go from 20-75% off! Especially if they give you a deadline date. “If you pay in 2 weeks we can take such and such for it,” and it sounds hella good cause in your eyes it’s way less than your original debt. Example.. you owe $1,000. The collection buys it for 200-300… the rest is claimed in loss and the company will collect from insurance that they have for such cases. The collection will tell you, you owe them 1,000 plus whatever bs they can apply but they’ll make a deal for $600/$700.. meanwhile they paid 200 for your debt. They make 3x’s what they paid for your debt, plus a couple dollars on interests that they swear you owe them. But ☝🏾 Your thought process that I’m explaining to you should be is to question “Who are you? “ As you know you don’t owe B&B collections you owed Glass Point that amount ( I’m just naming a place/ don’t go telling them who you actually owe 😂) ….and they have to prove that you owe this debt, that exact amount and the company on their behalf that they are collecting for. Also! Scan your report good! I had 2 collection agency’s trying to get money from me for my Sprint bill that ended up in collections . One claimed I owed 350, another said 290 . I disputed through Credit Karma ( that’s who I use to stay up to date with my credit report) …and one agency was dropped due to their failure to prove my debt or that I owed them, as 2 separate collection agency’s cannot collect on one debt. Imagine if I had not paid attention to this. I learned these tips through my aunt and it works! I cleaned up my credit, and had collections knocked off through disputes and their failure to prove I indeed owed debts to them. It may not work on high debts but those petty ones, they do . Good luck ! ❤

Debt Summary
Thanks for sharing your CPA journey. Can you please elaborate on how you studied for last 2-3 days, how did you cram up the entire syllabus specially for REG and FAR.
This is a great question! I might do a part 2 to include this. The last 2-3 days I would take practice exams over and over on various topics, focusing mainly on topics that I was struggling on, until I consistently got over 85s or 90s I believe. I used Wiley, you could "create" exams to practice on based on the MCQ library. I would also use Ninja CPA Review for additional MCQs to practice. I also reviewed all my notes, flash cards, and highlighted materials. Before my exam I would sit in the car and skim through my notes too lol. I treated all the exams the same from a studying process stand point. I didn't do anything different for FAR or REG. I hope that helps! Good Luck studying :)
Thank you for the video. I am working very hard to pass these exam but am failing by a little margins. . I have doing accounting for the last 5 years. I am good at doing case studies, but MCQ’s are just not my thing. Any tips to score good points in MCQ’s?
@AKRB10 Thank you for watching! Honestly, I would say the best way to get better at MCQ's is just to keep doing them. If you need extra MCQ's to practice, you can try Ninja CPA Review. They have a monthly subscription you can cancel anytime. I used them for a couple months when I would be close to sitting for an exam and it provides more exposure than just your current provider. I would also focus on why you are getting the questions wrong. When it gives you the reason, make sure you study that too. This helped me tremendously. Make sure you hyper focus on the material that you are struggling with if it is a large portion of the exam. Maybe even watch some TH-cam videos on how to get better at answering multiple choice questions. I hope that helped. Don't give up, you will get there :). Good luck on your exam journey!
@@BrittanyJanaeCPA Thank you so much 😊

Aww thank you so much 🥰. I really appreciate that! Yesss to you being ready to start studying. It’s definitely a serious journey, but you are up for it! Just stay consistent and your future self will appreciate it! Good luck!!
Do you think a master is needed before taking the CPA exam? I still need 9 credits before I can sit but took a year off after undergrad. I’m definitely more motivated now than ever to study and put in the hours, but wasn’t the best at financial accounting part 2 in college. Please let Mel know what you think!
@@anthonyllerena9 No, I don’t think it is needed at all. I think it is nice to have if you want to pad your resume and can help as far as increasing your knowledge for the exam. However it honestly doesn’t really matter in the real world. You gain all your real life knowledge through experience. It might decrease the amount of time studying for the exam, but not by alot. I hope that helps. Good luck on studying!!
