Bought a used Fusion, and found coolant was disappearing. Discovered it was leaking around this sensor (dripped every second or so when running). The sensor looked new, and I don't think it was installed quite right. There was play and I could move the sensor side to side some, and when I did a stream of coolant would run out. I removed the clip and the sensor, took the o-ring off and cleaned it (I was going to replace the o-ring but none in my o-ring set were the right thickness and diameter). Replaced the sensor using the original o-ring (rotating it good to really seat that o-ring), put the clip back, and now the sensor is tight and I can't wiggle it. No more leak, at least for now. Anyway, if you have a slow coolant leak, check around this sensor. When it drips on the engine it appears it is being boiled off, so no pooling happens under the car.
do you need to drain the coolant just to replace the sensor? I just changed the thermostat and drained the coolant and refilled it. Would hate to do the process all over agaim just to replace the sensor
Was coolant leaking from the sensor? I am having issues with my 13 fusion and I am putting coolant in it ever three days but don’t see where it’s leaking from
I got a 2019 fusion 2.5 changed the temp sensor reset the check engine light was doing fine for last 3 weeks now it's back on but not overheating or anything Has ran fine the whole time even before I changed it out just temp sensor and check engine on light temps right in the middle on temp any suggestions thanks
I have a 2014 fusion ecoboost and the temperatura increase at maximum, looks car is protected because the temperature never go down so in another tutorial they sad that the problem is the temperature sensor of the head
nice camera work on the clip. nobody else was able to show the clip and sensor clearly
Tnx bro!!! U just saved me some $$$ on a mechanic or the dealer that most likely they would rip me off

No
@demarcushudson6143 wait, you DON'T have to drain the coolant to replace the sensor? Is coolant going to come out of that hose then?
Much appreciated.. there's 2 plugs made the same on this 2015 fusion for another temperature sensor ..
They cut it and left it swanging.. 🙄

@@demarcushudson6143 ok thanks

Could be a bad sensor or a wiring issue. Whenever possible use oem parts they tent to work better.
@@demarcushudson6143 I changed the sensor like I said think it could be the clip Motorcraft Electrical Wire Connector WPT-985
Thanks! Great video was easy and savd me a lot of time!
Hello, what was the original failure of the fusion how do you determine replace it?
The car was stalling.
@@demarcushudson6143 was the gauge stuck
@@thabossman30 Are you referring to the fuel guage.
Quick question could it affect the ac? Like cause it to blow but won’t get cold
No
Mine did affect it and the ac didn’t work but I changed the sensor and cleared the code and it started working after 10 min
i been having stalling issues tried everything does this work?
If you have a code related to it, it should.
Great video! 🚗 🔧
Do u know Where is the maf sensor ? Thankyou
Should be located near the throttle body or the I take tube.
Thanks for the video brother…
How did you clear the code
With a scan tool.
What do you think?
Do you have a check engine light?
Haw can I replaced my fusion 2007 IAC valve ????
You should be able to find the IAC right behind the throttle body.
I have a question
I have a 2014 fusion ecoboost and the temperatura increase at maximum, looks car is protected because the temperature never go down so in another tutorial they sad that the problem is the temperature sensor of the head
That sounds like the likely cause.

The sensor is not the head tempeture ritgth
