    Everyone seems to be having same issues. Changed sensor works few hundreds miles temp light back on. Change thermostat and sensor again same issues. Car is not hot this is a ford issue. Buy a obd reader and erase even if no code super annoying but only thing that fixes 1.5l. May just pour bottle of head gasket sealer even if not loosing coolant if it’s internal temp issue

      Might be the sa.e issue as my customer had reading a false negative because the coolant sensor failed. Easy fix.

      I changed mine also and it was throwing me a p1299 code and it was also stalling I changed it and erased code it’s all good now but my temperature goes to 3/4 then back to normal (medium temp) then shoots back up and constantly does that what could it be ??? I want to change water pump but can it be a sensor ??? Please reply back 😭😭

      @enriquebarrios7015 it's probably a bad thermostat

      Check your water pump pulley for any play in the shaft and bearing. If there is any kind of wobble replace the water pump.

    Does the back one need to be replaced also or not because it’s not plugged in?

      Not for this model.

      How did you change out the rear sensor did it have some sort of connector and if possible any part number on it

      @jeromebyers7392 good question, actually it's a fake sensor. It's not connected to anything. I was boggles by this the first time i did this repair. It has one main temp coolant sensor underneath the turbo pipe and intake pipe on the driver's side of the block. It's actually really easy to replace. Pull the pin and pull the sensor out. Put the new sensor on and put the pin back in and done. Well almost after you put all the piping back that you have to remove smh

      well im in a war right now with one of these,usually i do 99.9% european cars,but now im fighting this ford 13 1.6t. dalse overheating,the message engine overheat…i did already the temp sensor,coolant level sensor,the god damn message keeps coming back and the radiator fan kicks in soon as you start the car(only when you start remeber this)is not on like most of them doesent shut off u see what im sayin?you start the car hvac all turned off,fan kick on,after a minute the message pops up,shut off the car fan goes off,pretty much did everyghing what have to do with the cooling system and still the same,check
      the wires with multimeter from the level sensor and the temp sensor from the plugs to the pcm and they good,in our shop specially electric parts we use OEM,some people dont like it but hey,go to the shop next door,we dont so same car twice for same issue,once and thats it,but im
      banging my head in the wall with this ford,any idea?!?tnx a bunch

      @aravel13 there is a ambient air sensor in the front bumper area by the radiator. Did you replace that sensor?

    I was just finishing a head job on one of these and can't find the damn connector for that cylinder head temp sensor to save my life 😂 Maybe I'm not going crazy after all lmao

      Really I don't know why they didn't just put a plug there instead of a sensor that has no plug

    My mechanic changed the sensor where the air pipe goes the one on the side and he said he changed one that goes by the bumper and he turned on the car but still keeps on pulling out a false overheating it’s been over in 3 weeks and he still can fix any advice where there can be another one located at or what can he do to fix it I am already planning to take the car from him because he does not find the problem I live in Austin Texas

      Are you losing coolant? Could be a gasket leak the 4 cyclinders are known for leaking gaskets
