Anxious for the projects myself! I like the brad idea (my brad hammer was my grandfathers) but have never tried the salt. I’ve always wondered what goes on chemically with the glue when the salt is added and if I am losing anything in the long term.

I don’t know if there’s a downside to using salt. I plan on continuing to use brads. Thank you for watching I appreciate it!

Kosher salt, those larger salt flakes you see on pretzels, is the secret! Works a little better than normal table salt if you have parts that really want to slide apart.
I like the brad nail idea to, especially by putting it in the end it's easy to cut off later!

Haha, I can’t stand pretzels! Ya you only need the rough pieces to be an extra inch long on each end which most of us allow for anyhow. 18 gauge brads are so soft that I wonder if they will even damage a carbide blade anyhow. Any thoughts on that?

@@garynelles Back when I started woodworking I used to cut through the 2x4s on pallets that are full of nails and they never damaged the blades so I can't imagine a little Brad would be to bad. That being said, with my sawstop the Brad nail wouldn't damage the blade but the brake cartridge sure would!

@@garynelles I cut through nails all the time with the carbide recip saw. No problems.
