    I love this guy (Deepak Chopra) and everything he has to say. I think the enlightened will agree with me. Love you Mr. Chopra, continue to lead the way to AWARENESS. Thank you for having the courage to speak through your soul.

    The true measure of the function of any "science" is the health and wellbeing it brings. the rest is theoretical academic meanderings. bravo Deepak for being a spokesperson for functional "science' and insight

    Unless your aware of your center and see the truth of who and what we are, spiritual beings, you cannot know what Deepak Chopra means. Not everybody is enlightened and for that, more the pity. I believe eventually everybody becomes aware , after all we have eternity .

    Excellent themes. Thanks you. "Verily the most necessary thing is contentment under all circumstances; by this one is preserved from morbid conditions and lassitude. Yield not to grief and sorrow: they cause the greatest misery. Jealousy consumeth the body and anger doth burn the liver: avoid these two as you would a lion." ~ Baha'u'llah

    interesting information ! we have both a body and mind . the body cannot be alive without the mind , and the mind cannot be existed without the body . then , we have good health because we have good health in body and mind , indeed ;

    [2/2] And Deepak does make huge conjectures concerning the current view science can offer in all of these fields. He talks about the mind as though it were a soul or some other entity, he talks about the manifestation of reality through the very existence of a perception of it - all of which is not backed up by science. He has the verbal finesse of a car salesman, but offers nothing in terms of predictability, experiment, unbiased observation and everything that makes up... you know... science.

    I read the Stephen LaBerg book about lucid dreaming and was practicing the techniques and all but it wasn`t until i did the 2 weeks of Deepak`s meditations that i actually had my first lucid dream and 2 since then so i know there is something to meditation......Do you think meditation is nonsense?

    It's inspiring, but it would be fun to make scientific experiments of those states of mind.

    Trick of your brain how interesting yes

  • @robert76865
    @robert76865 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    There are many cases where you clearly cannot say that consciousness is a result of brain activity.A brain may be functioning under anesthesia but not well enough to explain how someone could be conscious of things going on around them.So any scientist who has anything to say about the metaphysical is not respectable? Well that sucks.That`s why quantum mechanics requires employing some conceptual tools of philosophy...Because you can`t scientifically explain something doesn`t mean you ignore it

  • @lior1299
    @lior1299 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I hope you'd review my comment and compare it to what you think I said. Science itself has nothing to say about metaphysics, yet. Metaphysics is not the study of things that we "can't scientifically explain". Our intuitions regarding quantum physics have to be adjusted to fit the data extracted from experiments not the other way around. Our theories in that regard are conceptualized after the fact and it has never come to having to resort to metaphysical, spooky concepts such as spirit.

  • @lior1299
    @lior1299 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Actually, no. Meditation, specifically mindfulness meditation, has been demonstrated to significantly alter the cognitive state, but it does so without the practicing individual having to resort to anything supernatural or give credit to some ether-like entity.
    Although I am glad for your achievements, I am not in the least convinced by the explanations Deepak offers for the phenomena.

    How can we be so quick to dismiss that a consciousness being separate from the brain is a possibility?Read the Cambridge study,which used MRI`s in experiments to show that consciousness must be separate from the brain...Consciousness was present in patients in a persistent vegetative state.We can`t dismiss a certain explanation just cause some people may think it`s some spooky medieval far out concept? I think science at least has to take it into consideration that it is a possibility

    We depend in Jesus. He is the only one can heal us. Not us healing ourselves. Meditation is you're technique. We pray is a connection with God who listens to us and we give God Jesus all our worries. We don't meditate to feel free. Our soul belongs to Jesus our God with him we have the truth peace, not the peace of men like you give and show to others in your books. God is the only one can give you the truth peace.

    Even in a vegetative state the brain is still active. At any case from locked-in syndrome to deep coma - neurons are very much active: spikes (action potentials) can still be recorded and under an fMRI you'd still see brain activity. Once you don't, then you can rest assured the individual is gone for good.
    The burden of proof cannot be shifted so easily. Until there's reasonable evidence that a spirit exists - we operate under the assumption that it doesn't. "Occam's razor."

    Deepak Chopra? Really.
    When can we expect Adams or Mercola?

  • @lior1299
    @lior1299 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Plenty. He rants furiously between metaphysical and physical concepts without properly accounting for the age-long debate of how those could ever interact. For example, he brings up principles of quantum mechanics (such as the uncertainty principle) and talks about them on a biological level - again not accounting for the "emergence" dilemma. To those who actually study these issues, the incoherent misinformation he spouts is appalling.

  • @lior1299
    @lior1299 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nope, no it isn't. That's actually what gets people all riled up. He presents a mixture of pseudo-science and new-age philosophy as though it was science. All the while displaying a lack of the elementary modest, skeptical outlook vital for scientific progress in return for outlandish, feel-good cliches that will resonate with the populace's intuitions and wishful thinking. Look up the Sokal Affair, see how he looks to those who come from within the fields he tramples over.
