Some would argue that death is the end of "awareness". Just like when were asleep, we become unaware of our experience. So what happens to awareness at the time of death?
I usually enjoy reading comments, but I am so sorry that people have made such incredibly rude comments. If you don't like Deepak Chopra, why did you bother coming to watch this presentation? One of the most elevating talks and thoughts I ever heard. Being in India, from childhood we have been hearing about tatwamasi and aham brahmasmi. But never understood it even cognitively, forget experientially. This talk I heared more than 15 times over 6 months and parallels followed Inner Engineering. You can easily see the connections. And it is so liberating once get it intellectually. (If you dnt get it, please "Power Freedom and Grace" by Deepak Chopra. It will be useful to understand the terminology he uses. Experiential understanding is another thing. But this is definitely a door. Deepak Chopra: what a learnt dignified life of purpose 🙏

I haven't even listened to the video yet, but I love the title because I'm noticing how people avoid expressing and investing in their abilities, passions and desires, outing instead for careers, prestige, and money thinking that is the key to happiness. They're never as happy as they thought they would be, but they've settled. Now they look around at someone who lived their dreams, did just what they sat out to do. That person had their challenges, but they're no worse for wear. They're happy and they know who they are. Now that first person no longer knows their potential. They've become who others told them they could be successfully and they're haters of those who know who they are who have lived boldly and successfully. So I'm giving this video a thumbs up before I even hear it! LOL

I want to clarify something: the mind, body as a process always along our journey; if we identify with events, circumstances, image we get stuck in a moment, and if those moments in time we identify with, are difficult or discouraging life events, we limit ourselves from evolving, we don't honor the process of change, or of expansion that the spirit is ultimately headed for. Is this more or less what he presenting? :)

And if you "evolve" pass the importance of experiencing moments, you have an eternity of no moments to experience. Stay away from this new age system of lies. You are being enticed and lured into accepting complete ignorance of truth. We are not creators and if we were creators, everything would be destroyed by us because of how careless we are like how carelessly a human is to accept nonsense like new age doctrine just because their brain says it makes 99.9% sense and that 0.1% that is confusing to them is the part they have to "figure" out within themselves to unlock some kind of God code. Don't accept deceit even in the form of 0.1% deceit. Deceit is deceit period. There is one God and that God is separate from us and we need that God, not ourselves. Ourselves can lead our souls astray, it is the fact that there is only one creator and the rest is creation that keeps everything in existence stable. If god created a bunch of little gods, it would all become unstable before you could even blink an eye. God is love and the judge. True love doesn't just blink at sin and say "awe you made an oopsy daisy". No, true love from God comes by judging us all with the same divine standards that exist in heaven. Which is why when iniquity was found in Satans heart, he was immediately cast out of heaven and that is why none of us can enter heaven based on different standards. The same standard God has for his angels are the same standards he has for us. Period. Free will was given, but love and truth and standards are a constant, they never change, for if they did, that would mean God changed and God does not change.

Deepak Chopra tells the truth without attempting to get people lost with the vocabulary. I love it because I'm the same way.
So if - and I mean if - all people of the world no matter the sex, skin color, financial conditions, social status, etc, etc, etc would apply the teachings of this video, there would be peace on earth literally...
...and I am not shoveling clouds saying this because I'm fully aware of the malignant narcissists among us but you know what? They would simply be left alone (the no contact rule would simply be applied) and have but no choice either:
a) to remain alone;
b) to regroup between themselves on a specific territory;
c) take a deep breath, look in the mirror and simply change.
If a narcissist (male or female) would really and truly commit to change, I would apply that we all forget his/her past, including themselves forgetting their past of course. We would start over a blank slate. Which means that I would myself forgive the sociopath who set me up with his lying pity ploy and constantly and currently cruelly assassinates my character - it is ongoing since August 2013, we're in March 2019 now - if he would commit to change of course. Yes the past would be forgotten but only if he would mean to change, not just saying those speeches that he so eloquently traps you with. (I know how it works) Now I know I'm dreaming in colors but hey, I'm myself and I totally assume it now. I won't change after those decennials of being like this. lol
So yes, Deepak is absolutely correct in stating that to find your true self is the cure of all suffering. If people of the world would all apply this sooner than later preferably, it would be a change of the human experience on earth. Otherwise, we are going in the downward spiral of reincarnations advitam eaternam to redo the same things all over again.

Mr Deepak Chopra has explained a complex concept in simple words. Humanity will record his pursuits for giving this knowledge to common person like me. I am immensely benefitted from his work and Video uploaded on TH-cam. I consider his works equally useful as of Mr J Krishnamurti. I wish if I can meet him in person. He is great Soul.

I love that you understand J Krishnamurti. It takes a lot of intelligence and also persistence to understand J but he has said a few things that blew my mind for real. He helped me in one sentence more than ten years of study and experience sometimes. I also like that you put him with Deepak. People speak badly of Deepak. They are crazy. I’m 43 minutes in and all I’ve heard is how you are the sum of your experiences, you have senses, and time exists. When does he get to some point?

God put me on this planet to guide my mom through her suffering of cancer until she died in my arms. i no longer serve a purpose and am suffering myself from chronic conditions i was born with. Our suffering is nothing but God's entertainment. justifying anything is meaningless to me.
He said the our "system" dies, thus our consciousness dies (thoughts and perceptions as he said ) ...it hadn't been proven that consciousness dies, especially since the energy/soul we embody does not die...

No living beings will know cause we dont know and cant know everything. I mean if god is really real what created him and what created the creator of that? No one will know

You are not "I". We are all a manifestation of the universe and are one. Your oneness feeds the collective. All the answers are within you and when you tap into the collective, all the answers are realized. Without the mind, the body doesn't exist - a leg doesn't feel it's legness. When your mind is turned off in surgery, the body has no sensation. You are infinite energy connected to higher collective consciousness. May you keep reaching higher levels of consciousness and help others to achieve such heights.

You are the universe manifested in a human meat suit. You are the manifestation of the collective consciousness. You are not an "I" but rather something much larger than your human body. Your body is a filter just like your mind is a filter. The essence of you is energy and light - an extension of a huge web that spans universes. The universe doesn't need you to define yourself but rather be your best authentic self. You just need to be.
If what I say doesn't resonate with you, then meditate on it and ask answers of your god/divine leader/angels/higher power/etc. They will give you answers to advance your soul, just tap in and ask.
What happens to the awareness when we sleep? When I am awareness and I am aware of something (be it perception or thought) what is the source of perception?
Source of perception is awareness.When you sleep awareness is no longer there.

'Who I am' is easy. The big question is 'what is the purpose of all this' ? Not so much my purpose but the purpose of everything in existence from viruses to the everything else in the cosmos. My biggest question right now is why do viruses exist and what is their purpose?
