Another great video. Felt so bad you were covered in salt!!! Scary time for you. And we can’t believe T sits there and looks over the edge!!! She’s a sailing cat. Just adorable ❤❤
Don’t take this the wrong way, but your voice helps me sleep. This was a great upload to find at 3am. Read some sailing books and I’ll pay for every recording!
My cruising grounds. Been out there a zillion times. Forecasters are brutal. For some reason they have trouble getting it right. I would say 50% of time is accurate. Santa Anas are difficult. Coches is great.
I use Navionics on the hook too. Always good when you see the track turn into a blob of yellow in rough conditions, but only eases the paranoia slightly. West Coast anchorages look a little sketchy with little natural protection.
Good videos! Headsets are great, however, a pre-brief and understood hand signals will work in any weather or condition. We started out from FL with headsets, but made landfall at Panama with hand signals. Very few in the Pacific seems to use headsets (we are currently near Brisbane, Australia).
Yeah, that anchoring too close thing is a problem down here in the Cortez also. Our best strategy has been when the esposa goes up to the bow, puts her hands on her hips, and gives the interlopers the "stare"......very effective and no words exchanged.😎
Feliz Navidad. There is a guy in La Paz who is an exceptional stainless welder. I believe his name is Hector or Sergio. Ask on the morning cruiser's net when you get there. We are up at Puerto Escondido. I have friends here who have paid for his transportation from LP and lodging to have welding done. But, be aware, he is very busy. 😎 @svrambleon @@svrambleon
We just had stainless steel rail installed all around our Westsail 32 in Mazatlan for a very reasonable price. Also had a new bobstay fitting made. Let me know if you need information.
We were in 20 feet and had 150 feet all chain out with an oversized Rocna Vulcan anchor. I think our bridle got fouled somehow on the chain because it was twisted when I pulled it up. That may have caused us to drag.

You guys are doing so great. Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks Brad! Miss all of you at Owl Harbor!
Another great video! So cool seeing you guys made it safe and sound to Ensenada!

Tough time of year to leave. I have a feeling this won’t be your last storm adventure. Merry Xmas ramble on. Glad you’re moving.

Coches was beautiful!
I dragged in smugglers and went to Scorpion Anchorage. I have usually had great luck with scorpions. Potato harbor is fun too but only in Southernlys.

Glad you got a chance to get in the water … too bad you had such a bad night at anchor!!
It's just part of the life, I guess 🤷♀️ 😃

Hi Bajatrawler - We want to get some stainless steel work done in Baja (a solar arch and davits). Do you have any recommendations on where to do that?

Thank you! We'll ask around when we get there.
Yes, the contact info would be great. You can put it here or email it to rich@svrambleon.com. Thanks!
The sticky stuff is probably tar. Of the coast of Santa Barbara there is natural oil seepage. It can make a mess.
Yep I’m hoping to never have a night at anchor like that again. Not fun. Be safe guys.
Thanks Norm!
What was your depth/scope at Forneys?
