Yes! This is a desert island disc for me, Shane!! I think the '69 Mets really broke people's brains. Topps put a bare chested Nolan Ryan on one of those 1970 celebration cards, they let Ed Charles slip his album into the picture... have you ever seen a piece of media in a baseball card like that?
I love this, Mookie. Amazing Mets and amazing video man. You turned those $20 at a show into a greatest hit! You gotta have heart to do that. Well done
Man I loved this Mookie you were having so much fun it got me all fired up !! I also loved that I just finished that book I sent you all about this team. Just freaking epic thank you for making such a fun video to watch 👊🤙🤙
Hey Mookie, fun video! I remember seeing that clip and thinking, in addition to how funny it was, about how unhappy Nolan Ryan looked. Haha. Nice pickups!
Tom was giving Nolan the business! It’s a great archival piece - I linked to the whole video in description, the Jack Dilauro impression is pretty good and makes Ed laugh pretty hard
And I have enough heart to watch and comment, because this video is awesome. Love all the background you provided and clips for support. Excellent video.
Thanks for sharing Mookie. When they first were the title, I thought you were going to compare Seaver and Ryan. 😂🤣. Instead, you gave us something far better. 💃🕺🏻🎼
Thanks Tony!!! I bet you would like the full clip I put in the description. Jack Dilauro doing his Sullivan impression in front of Ed Sullivan is really fun!
Howdy again. Great video and as a fellow Mets fan I love every minute of it. Of course, you now have the responsibility to complete the "where did they go" note for each player on the back of the album. 😆
Great video Mookie. Loved those early Mets cards and the Ed Sullivan clip. Nolan can't throw a voice so is a "No Singer" but could throw a ball piling on the "No Hitters".
Another hit for the Mookie, Channelle! Creed Card pick ups from from the show! Cool album as well. Love seeing the video of Nolan and Sever not wanting to sing on national television!! Also, what are the odds of this happening in 2024 getting 20 guys to wear suitsand sing on national television!?!? Good job Mookie
This was a fun video Mookie. Nolan Ryan certainly didn't want to be there which is easy to imagine. Given that Tim McGraw can sing, he had to have gotten some of that talent from old daddy Tug. Maybe it was this album that kicked started Tim's love for music. Can we make that leap? lol
Just put the ball in play… unless you’re Nick Castellanos and ground into a game ending double play with the bases loaded, then do anything else!!! Haha This was terrific and fun to see! Love the Mets backdrop colored by 6 year olds they hung in the back!
Ah man! That album is a gem with that footage. Has to offload Nolan after that performance. I was seeing the same thing you were seeing. That guy clearly didn’t have the goods.
Rick, I should have expected a good barrister like you to call me out!! The Mookie Minute is just like what congress calls a "magic minute" where the leaders of each party gets to take the last minute of debate on the floor of the house and go for as long as they want. Don't worry - the Mookie Minute isn't billable! hahahaha - thanks Rick, i appreciate your kind support!
You might of paid $20 too much for those cards! 😂 Nolan Ryan definitely didn’t want to be there, that’s hilarious! I saw Bowman called you out- so is this gonna be minutes now and not minute?
So basically you are saying that the Mets were the Super Bowl Shuffle before the Bears were the Super Bowl Shuffle! Unreal. Lynn N Ryan was not excited to be there. He took his frustration Of this on the grandson of the Ed Sullivan Show producer years ago, Robin Venture!
That’s EXACTLY what I’m saying! Move over Sweetness and the Fridge! The Mets did it in prime time! I love the Ventura theory - I’m gonna have to investigate that one!
Just terrific, Mookie! As a lover of music and vinyl records, this episode was a home run in my book. You got heart, Mr. Chillson!

Thanks Hugo!! You definitely have heart!! And I definitely have this song stuck in my head lolololol
Man I loved this Mookie you were having so much fun it got me all fired up !! I also loved that I just finished that book I sent you all about this team. Just freaking epic thank you for making such a fun video to watch 👊🤙🤙
You sent me a book! Hahahaha The Kranepool? Oh man - that’s insane dude!

The "Mookie Minute" remains undefeated as the best thing on TH-cam. (And it's not even close!!)
You’re just simply too kind, pal. Thank you!
And I have enough heart to watch and comment, because this video is awesome. Love all the background you provided and clips for support. Excellent video.
Eddy! It’s kind words like yours that make it worth having this song stuck in my head! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!

@@mookiechillson - 100%
Great video. Times sure have changed when it comes to team promotions. Great compilation video Mookie. I loved it
Thanks Drew - 16 years before the Bears did the Super Bowl Shuffle! Mets were ahead of the curve!
Ha! Love this story and footage. Tom Terrific knew how to embrace the awkwardness, it seems. Love that guy! Great episode!
Embrace the Awkward! I love it - great call, thanks peeps!
Great video Mook! Loved the Ed Sullivan clip! Nolan can't sing... I'll let it slide. Thanks for sharing!
Yes - Nolan’s first and last Broadway performance. He has other skills!
Gave a video like. Another great video! Enjoyed seeing that clip as well!
Thank you so much! I can’t get the song out of my head!
Howdy again. Great video and as a fellow Mets fan I love every minute of it. Of course, you now have the responsibility to complete the "where did they go" note for each player on the back of the album. 😆
That’s a great idea! I need to find a vintage bic pen to match the ink! Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it! Let’s go Mets!
Great video Mookie. Loved those early Mets cards and the Ed Sullivan clip. Nolan can't throw a voice so is a "No Singer" but could throw a ball piling on the "No Hitters".
That’s a good one! Explains why he waited until the Angels to put it all together. Great comment - I appreciate that very much!
👍
Great stuff Mookie. Awesome stuff
Could you imagine a team singing on TV like that now, Orlando? Thanks buddy!
I bet Nolan hasn't sung a single song since. You're so right, will never happen again!
Awesome!! Seaver just having some fun! Nolan looks like he doesn't want to be there! LOL
Yes, exactly!! Nolan wanted to be roping cattle!
Nice Share Mookie! Loved the Ed Sullivan clip with the Mets singing! No Gil Hodges in sight!
You’re right! Gil probably went bowling that night!
@@mookiechillson singing on stage is probably not his scene.
Great video Mookie! You got a great deal for 20 bucks, congrats my friend.
Thanks Jason! If they had a Boyer, I would have scooped it!
I know Alex was complaining, but Mookie Minutes can be as long as. you want them to be. The more Mookie, the better.
This is the kind of affirmation I’m looking for. Magic minute! Thanks bestie!!!
got to Have Heart clip was cool . thanks for sharing
Thanks Adam! I appreciate it!

I knew I forgot to mention something!! That’s the exact right leap to make - Tim has pipes like his dad!
Hi Mookie. Nice pickups, and a great story. Thanks for sharing my friend. Talk soon pal.
I appreciate that very much Stephen!
great job my friend
Thank you, Mr. Mayor!
Just put the ball in play… unless you’re Nick Castellanos and ground into a game ending double play with the bases loaded, then do anything else!!! Haha
This was terrific and fun to see! Love the Mets backdrop colored by 6 year olds they hung in the back!
That was a willlld finish! I loved the Ed Sullivan set design - clearly donated by a local elementary school!
What a great story and performance based off of the baseball card
I’m so glad you enjoyed, Les! Thank you!
Ah man! That album is a gem with that footage. Has to offload Nolan after that performance. I was seeing the same thing you were seeing. That guy clearly didn’t have the goods.
You just can’t lock up on the Ed Sullivan show. I’m sorry, Nolan, this is the big leagues!
Great video and pick ups for $20 beans Cheers
So glad you enjoyed - thank you!!!
Thank you as Mets fan leaning a lot history.
I’m so glad you watched and enjoyed! Thank you!!
Ryan definitely didn't want to be there😂
His first and last public performance for sure! I loved the roughhousing on the risers.
Which card show did you go to? That video will never get old. I can only imagine how the team felt singing that song.
New show in Midland Park, NJ - about 30 mins north of Garfield. Lots of the same dealers from Garfield, just a few different vintage guys.
Great video Mookie!!! Maybe, in the interest of full disclosure, it should be renamed “Mookie Minutes!” lol

I don’t blame Nolan for shoving Seaver! I would do it too. Great video! Thanks
Thanks Keegan!
