I wish the Mookie Minutes were longer than the normal 5 minutes 😄 What a cool fact about Stan and his NY connection and domination. The nickname Stan the Man must have been coined by a New Yorker. He knew those early Mets teams well as they shared their spring training site here in St Pete. That’s an awesome shot at the Polo Grounds of Stan on deck. Thanks for sharing, Mook

Mookie, way to make Musial Met-aid out of the Mets! Well, after that attempt at some sort of a pun-alogy, I'm waffling between being pretty proud of myself and never speaking again! Since the latter goes against my nature, I guess I'll try the former! 😆I was so enthralled by the Mookie Minute that I lost all sense of time! Must have been that time-warp you were talking about! I loved learning about this, so thank you for sharing! Who doesn't love Stan The Man! Apparently, even the Mets loved him while he was bombing away with homers against them! 🤯🤯🤯 This shows just how awesome both Stan The Man and The Mets are! We are 1962 Stan The Man clubbies, as well as Pride of the NL clubbies! Congrats on your new Stan The Man '63 stunner! What a great photo of Number 6 at the Polo Grounds and such a cool story about the delayed retirement, the home run bonanza and Stan Musial Day! Your Musial Mets cards are treasures! "Space time continuum." Am I looking at a Star Trek fan? :o) Sweet book with the Mets cards in it. I was told that Musial boycotted Topps for a long time as a way to help support the other players who were not getting paid much by Topps. Fun stuff Mookie.
More Star Wars than Star Trek… but I love it all, Drew! The article in the Sporting News I was reading from said something about Stan turning down a Notre Dame scholarship for his son because Stan didn’t want to take that money from another kid who needed it. It wouldn’t surprise me if he stayed off Topps cards for the reason you mentioned!

I only clicked because of the asterisk! I said- okay, he’s finally admitting it’s over a minute! Great story, but why do Mets fans always want credit for something that had nothing to do with them! I’m not calling my 62 Musial cards, Mets Musial’s!!! He should have been a Pirate!
I heard the buccos treated him well in his last year, too. They gave a nice bottle of Heinz ketchup - 64 oz!! That’s the gift that keeps on giving!
