    Wow, awesome video! I was actually waiting for you to do this upgrade. I had never seen IAT data for Merc Racing, so thank you for that. So, now it is time for dual pulley, 80 mm throttle body, ported blower and test pipes ;-) I finally ordered APR CPS after driving 18 months with DP on stock cooling. Never measured IAT's, but ouch can imagine what they have been like in the summer. I will do some logging before and after and will share.

    There's couple other things you can do to improve your IAT's and recovery time. Mostly get rid of the second restrictive heat exchanger and clean your lines up like how it is on the B8.5

      Other mods or changes would be cwa100 but the PWM signal won't work so pump will be 100% all the time and you don't need 50/50 coolant mix in Vancouver. I can share a datazap with you showing deltas of 35c on a PR of 3.48.

    Your stock delta was 21C whereas the Merc delta was 19.5C, with the ambient being 1C colder, I only see this HX giving you 0.5C?

      @@VancityAudi I’m not denying a larger HX can be required. Just the data you provided only shows a colder starting temp. The increasing delta of temp from start of you run till end was a mirror image for both units.

      @@christopheredgett4919 How do you think I attained that colder starting temp though? The DA, the ambient temp and my driving previous to filming was virtually identical from my baseline run to my run with the Merc HX. The unit itself provided me with nearly 10 degrees cooler temps to begin with which created a 10 degree cooler operating temp. It continued to keep the car 10 degrees cooler throughout the entire run compared to the OEM unit seeing as my peak temps were nearly 10 degrees cooler as well. That's a whole lot of me writing 10 degrees lol. That's the way I see it at least.

      @@VancityAudi do you believe more air surface area cools when the vehicle is not moving..or would you believe adding more volume of liquid would help a starting temp be reduced. If the increased air surface area helped in any way, why is the increasing temperature delta the same as stock?

    • @RS-ve8nq
      @RS-ve8nq 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The volume of coolant to absorb the heat, the surface area to dissipate and the increase in flow from the reduction in pressure all contribute to the improvements. The delta is not the measure here; average temperature/reduction is, 10 degrees across the board is very good.
      Also bear in mind the true bottleneck is the small charge air coolers inside the supercharger.
