Your daughter's dress turned out so beautifully, that fabric is stunning. I have tackled a similar twist front dress before so know exactly what you mean. You end up having a 'eureka' moment at some point when you finally realise what they mean! The New Look top is one of my favourites but i must do one of the shorter views I think as it never comes below the waist. I have never done the frill but seeing yours has made me think I have missed out, I think it looks super. Well done for completing the quilt that is a real achievement. Looking forward to seeing the dress but never put yourself under pressure to film for us, we are always there when the time is right 😊. Enjoy your weekend 🌸
Thank you Carole. I picked up some fabric at JoAnn’s yesterday and I hope to remake the New Look top in a smaller size and shorter. Right now, sewing is therapy; that may not continue to be the case. I hope you enjoy your weekend travels and visiting with family.
Beautiful quilt and dress! I bought my first ever sewing machine last week. It's a brand-new Brother machine and I love it! I've been sewing like crazy lol
Great job! I had intentions of learning when I worked in the sewing Department of Walmart I brought home material weekly. I have five totes of material now😳 and can sew a little but nothing elaborate and I think it's not something I am great at. But Maybe when I retire, and have more time, I can spend more time learning. I would love to make myself tops and skirts!
I used to work at Walmart too. Do you remember back when they would allow you to take material and notions free if you made a garment to display in the fabric department. That was the good old days!
Hi Lisa, I am new to your channel, I am trying to get back into sewing again(now that we have 5 Grands under 6). Your quilt is lovely and the tie method would be the only way for me to quilt at the moment(with an old 80's Singer machine). The dress turned out wonderful(practicing is good!) Love that top too. Look forward to seeing your next video. Have a blessed week.
Hi Katinka! I just learned about Eloflex and Maraflex thread. Someone mentioned it in a video, and I purchased some. It is amazing and works like a dream on my old Singer! Thanks for your kind remarks and I’m glad you stopped by.
I love that twist in the front on your daughter's dress. I can imagine what a challenge that could be! Your daughter seemed well-pleased with her new dress; she had such a big smile on her face after she modeled it. I do like that top 6434. I've got the same pattern and will try it one day soon. Have a great week-end!
I was really concerned that the twist wouldn’t hang correctly, but it turned out great. She was very happy with it! Oh, I hope you make the New Look top soon. It’s really an easy, quick sew. I’m going to find fabric today, hopefully, that is lighter weight so I can remake it a size smaller.
I’m making the same shirt…I started it last night. I think your is pretty also. I’m struggling to figure out my size because I’m smaller at the top and bigger at the bottom. Also not using scalloped fabric. I’m going to adjust the length before adding the ruffle at the bottom. I love the dress for your daughter
Hi! Sorry I somehow missed your comment. Thanks for stopping by. I have made that blouse twice. I think I prefer it in a knit, but even so, I have discovered that I do not like the neckline. I prefer a v-neck.
All your makes are wonderful. Your daughter has gorgeous hair and the dress fits her so well. I like the top you have on but agree it is a bit big. I’m anxious to see how you change the fitting on a future make.
Hi Susan, thanks for stopping by! Thank you very much. It’s easy to sew for her because her size perfectly matches the pattern sizing. How rare is that?!
Wondered if you had tried putting paper under your fabric when you sewed the dress for your daughter? Mom used to have to do that occasionally when making things from Qiana fabric back in the 70’s.
You sure were busy!! That quilt is beautiful!! What size was that? Your daughters dress turned out wonderful...that fabric and pattern pairing was perfect!! Your shirt is cute! I love those sleeves!!
Thank you. The quilt is Queen-size. I do love the sleeves on the New Look blouse. I’m going to make another soon, with lighter fabric and a size smaller. Thanks for stopping by!
Your blouse might be too big because the pattern states that it is for women’s, but you did a great job and look beautiful in it! Great job on your daughter’S dress as well. A new thread for knits is called Miraflex that stretches
Hi Nathalie, thanks for stopping by. Since this video, I discovered Eloflex thread and it has worked well. Yes, I am surd you’re right about the Women’s patterns. Happy Sewing!
First time seeing your channel. Nice sewing cute pattern. But I will never watch again or support your channel. You have children in the home with unsecured guns in the home. I, too, own guns. But ALL are in a safe.
I understand and appreciate your comments. We are long time gun users and advocates for the 2nd Amendment. We have 6 children, all who have been trained, first to obey us, and second, how to use and/or properly handle weapons. A gun in a safe is of no use in times of emergency, but you have to be persuaded as to your own personal level of comfort for your family. The best preparation for adults and children is to always be prepared to die, whether by accident or by natural causes; and after that to face the judgment of God. My children have all trusted in Jesus Christ's sacrifice for their sins, and after this short life, we will all be together in eternity. I pray the same for your family as well. For you to choose not to support my channel for your stated reason seems unnecessary and a little bit silly, but you are certainly free to do so.
The muslin for your daughter’s dress was quite beautiful! 🤩
Thanks! I thought so too.
Beautiful dress

your daughter's dress is beautiful~ you are very talented!
I thought it turned out beautifully. Thanks, but I don’t think it’s talent, truly. Its just years of experience and patience.
Very nice sewing. Your hair is gorgeous. 🤗
Thanks for the compliment. Sometimes I love my hair, sometimes no so much.

Hey Bonny! That is awesome! Storm is using my brother sewing machine that I bought from Walmart in Delavan 20 years ago.

Did you maybe need a new needle to go through 3 layers?
No, I made sure to put a new needle in when I began the dress.
