I could write a whole series on mistakes that I have made and that I do make when sewing. Lol. I’m glad that you’re enjoying New Look patterns. They are nice. Your top is really cute, and it looks nice paired with the blue pants. Nice job, Tea.

Your outfit looks so nice on you. The top pairs great with those pants. I like the sleeves on you but if you don't, remove them. You deserve to be comfortable in your makes.

Hi Myra! You know, I've had New Look Patterns and I've done some sewing with them in the past. But this year I'm really learning more about them and I've found a new appreciation for them. Thank you for tuning in!

I like the sleeves on you. Nice pattern and material. Thanks for being transparent about your mistakes. I make mistakes all the time on my garments and it is hard to return to them for completion.

Tea, anytime you need to see some motivational sewing mistakes, come on down to see me! As you know, my entire channel is me screwing up at least one bit of every garment I make, sometimes in an epic fashion, LOL!

Hi Nikki! I had a huge section in the video where I talked about inspirational channels such as your channel, Natidea, and Myra Lorraine. But I cut it out because I didn't want to make you all feel uncomfortable for the shot out. But I've witnessed it from a handful of youtubers in the sewing community. Not many! I wish we, as a community, do that more. I know a lot of people who struggle thinking that we have perfect garments because we show the successful makes more than the disastrous sewing makes. Just saying...

Pooh! The mistakes I've made while sewing are epic! The sad thing is, is that they were plain as day, in your face crazy ones! The top you are wearing looks great!

Hi Joanne! Welcome to the channel! I agree! Many of my mistakes were/are "plain as day in your face crazy ones" haha I have found that I absolutely can NOT do anything sewing related when I'm running low on energy. Thanks for watching and subscribing to my channel! I hope you enjoy the content!

I like this top pattern as well.. I made the same one with the bell sleeves and received good compliments on it, but I wasn't comfortable with it. I think yours looks great. Thank you for being 100% honest with your mistakes. I appreciate that quality in you. Glad I found your channel.

Tea. I really like the top. It's cute with those sleeves. It works because the fabric print is light and airy. It wouldn't work with a big bold print so good choice. All sewists make mistakes. And if they say they don't they're lying. I myself recently finished a quilt top, then realised I had made a major mistake and had to rip out the very center blocks and resew it. Talk about picking stitches!! Frustrating. But worth it in the end. You are doing the right thing to put a project aside and go back to it later with a fresh perspective. Working on something when you are aggravated with it only increases the error rate. Thanks for sharing and you've inspired me to finish a dress I started in December.

Thanks for sharing! I do love the top, and the sleeves as well. I think it adds character to the top. As for mistakes, I’m a beginner - so - i’m always making them! Lol. One thing I’ve started doing especially since I am a beginner is 1) keep a journal of my patterns and any notes pertaining to that pattern. 2) put a post it on the piece of pattern I had trouble with. For you it was the collar. Next time you make that pattern you’ll have a reminder as to where to adjust it. Thank you so much for your video.

Hello Tea! I've just discovered your channel via Cashmerette's post of you wearing your lovely light blue Rivermont dress on Instagram! I have the New Look top pattern and have thinking about making it. Your version looks so pretty, such beautiful fabric! I will bump it up my queue to make because it's a very simple design, one you can jazz up or leave quite simple. I love those sleeves, and i get what you mean about wanting to increase the width so there is more ruffle. I may do that so they're more of a statement sleeve. I have the Rivermont pattern and I really want to make it, again you've inspired me to bump it up the queue!! I have quite a few NL patterns in my stash, unused, so I need to give them a go. Your pink dress looks gorgeous, I hope you re-cut the pattern piece because it would be a shame not to after all the hard work you put in to making it 👍. Now to binge watch the rest of your videos and follow your sewing journey on Instagram too! I'm @gussiemuspratt on IG, currently experiencing lack of sewjo, but I'm hoping today will be better. Take care, Liz

I like it with the sleeves, but if you don't just take them off. Thank you for commenting on the mistakes issue. I have found that I can do a perfect (surprisingly) job right up until the very last thing. Then I blow it! I've taken to psyching myself out saying out loud: the hem is the last thing, or the snap is the last thing. Keeps me focused. Kind of silly, but it's working. I do this when quilting also. Hey, the label is the last thing, right? Fix that neckline on the fuchsia dress and then model it for us. It's a Wow dress for sure.

I'm most definitely the same way Sue! I do a great job and then at the end of a project, something goes wrong lol Oh Well! It happens to many of us.

Hi Tea! I think your top is very pretty, and it looks nice on you. I wouldn't take the sleeves off. Maybe the next make, can you
reduced the amount of the ruffle? And the pink dress is absolutely cute. Just give it a moment, you'll return to it!
Thank you for sharing! I'm still trying to get back to sewing garments, and you are helping me tremendously!

Thanks for sharing your "mistake." I'm just getting back into sewing and have done 2 shirts. I told my husband that it seems like I make every mistake possible before getting them right, lol. I love the blouse on you. Only remove the sleeves if they really both you. The pink dress is lovely. Did you also make the pants you wore with the blouse? Love them too.

Yes, I made the pants! As you can see, this is an older video. I no longer have those pants. Lol

Hi Tea, I've recently tried New Look patterns, too and think they're great! The top looks very pretty on you and I like the sleeves. The pattern would make a cute dress. I think every one who sews makes mistakes at times. Hope you will finish the pink dress-it's lovely.

Amazing, I tried view B of that 6429 pattern and I gave it away to a charity shop. The pattern called for handstiching around the neck facing and because it was partially on the bias, it stretched like crazy making it very untidy around the lower portion of the neck. I like new look patterns, but that one was hard for me and I will not make again.

I think the top is cute. But if the sleeves bother you, you probably won't wear it as much (if you're like me).

Most likely lol. I made another one without the ruffle sleeve and I like it MUCH better!

Leave the sleeves on. It looks just like the pattern. But if you're really not feeling it.....then take them off. You are the only one who will be wearing it.
