There are many more things to do here. During a day trip on the north coast you can visit numerous river front parks. Take a plunge into Laguna Du Du from the sky cable for about 50 cents. Snorkel for free if you bring your own gear. Explore natural caves and have lunch. Cost to enter the park is 3 dollars. A short ride to the west and you are at Playa Grande, a beautiful white sand beach that is miles long. Only expense is for parking which is about 2 bucks. Pile back in the car and head west to Laguna Gri Gri. There you can charter an open boat for a ride through the lagoon out to open waters of the rocky coast. Ride into ocean formed coastal caves, stop at sheltered beaches where you can swim and enjoy a beer at any of the numerous beach restaurants. While the big tour companies have good deals, you can spend the day enjoying the sights for a fraction of the price if you do a little investigation.

My wife and I went last year for two weeks, and we're going again this year in May. Absolutely beautiful! Might I add, check out Sharky Tours as well. And if you get a chance, go to Macao Beach! Seeing this video makes me so excited to go again!

My favorite vacation spot! I’ve been about 6 times. Reminds me of Puerto Rico were my family is from but we come here because it’s cheaper with the all inclusive resorts!

I went there last year to vista sol resort and it was gorgeous. I also went to saona island and I loved it it's beautiful and full of fun activities to do. The beach was amazing and the resort was fantastic I'm glad I got this opportunity to visit the Dominican republic for 2 weeks.

You wouldn’t want to be, I’m Dominican and let me tell you there is never electricity or hot water.the Dominican Republic is actually pretty broke... they just have these beautiful resorts for wealthy people.

I remember my grandmother took our whole family to saona it was so beautiful! We took a speed boat there and then a party yacht back. I loved it so much the water was clear there was amazing food on the beach and it was just so relaxing. So excited to go back to my country this August #proudtobedominican 🇩🇴❤️

Hey jon nice video, but if u come to dr again, if you wanna go to a much calm but beautiful beach try bahia de las Aguilas and sleep there on a tent, for a reef go to cayo arena and for your adrenaline need go to jarabacoa and try the river fasts among other cool things that town offers. Bavaro and punta cana are very beautiful but there's so much more

@@jonathan as a Dominican, (current resident as well) I would like to thank you for the video and your comments.. But let me add, your experience here was very limited!! haha.. The colonial zone in Santo Domingo is in fact what you mentioned and described, good job on getting some of those details!, but then you only went to the Eastern side of the island... This country, is like a miniature continent, we have cold mountains in the north, desert like dunes in the south, one of the best water sports beach in the Caribbean in the northern shore, lakes, caves, the highest peak in the West Indies, and MANY more beautiful and amazing things to offer.
I don't mean to say anything bad about your video with this comment, but on the contrary, take this as an invitation to explore the many other scenes and adventures that our little paradise has to offer!! cheers, and we would love to have you back whenever you want!!

I was there three times 2times as a kid and one time last year for 2 weeks I have family there from my father he grew up there we have family in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana I love it✌️

Dexter English here in the Dominican Republic is not spoken much but many young people do speak it, although they are not all but there are many, mainly middle class youth. but in tourist areas English is spoken.

My hubby and I loved our trips to the Dominican Republic. 1st time went for 2 wks. Had an awesome time. stayed at 1 with a play at 5. 3 on the beach and 2 just off the beach. in 2004 at the Barcelo Bavaro Casino. I believe it is all separate now. and the pool that was next to the golf course is gone as well. Def did most of the things in this video. Dune buggies were a blast also went on an awesome go cart track. Ran over a fricken big ass mother of a Tarantula. Just about shit my pants as it rolled up around the front tire. Thank god , it just went back down to the pavement. and hit it again with the back tire. Took a couple spins around to show the hubby what I run over.

You have much more there.. next time try limon waterfalls its view that words don’t describe easy and then bahia de los aguillas beach wich can easy overshadow saona and then top of the highest mountain there with a restoran on to el hamaca de dios or gods hammock you capture those 3 videos discovery channel will be calling you😃
