There is a neat little trick I found when using this monitor that makes stuff look more vibrant, kinda like if HDR is on but it works for everything rather than just specific HDR supported games. What I did was I opened up the menu using the buttons on the down left side of the monitor and used the following settings: 1. Using Splendid and set it to "Game mode." 2. Going to Image>Shadow Boost>Set it to level 1 The image looks so much better for me after that. Mostly do gaming and typical entertainment stuff.

Hey. I ended up picking up the cheaper version and surprisingly mine doesn't have any ghosting trail. It looks exactly like the TUF one in your review. I'm very satisfied with the purchase. The dark level implementation is also very decent.
@@officialdrainz It's identical. Both of them are identical from the front. the only real difference is that the specs are slightly better on the VG249Q and the stand is better(that said if you use a dual monitor arm it's really no difference there.
Got this monitor as a replacement for my Viewsonic XG2405 which unfortunately, had black lines show up on the bottom of the screen. Colors are very similar and I honestly wouldn't be able to tell them apart if they were side by side. I do think that the Asus is a bit more responsive than the Viewsonic. I play a lot of CS and flicking around feels super snappy as compared to my older Viewsonic. Really loving this monitor so far.
@@chernoxeneize12 the only selling point I see for the XG2405 is the stand which I absolutely love. Performance wise, they are almost identical eventhough I'd argue that the Asus is a tad bit faster. Color/Picture quality is the same and I couldn't tell the difference. Just get whichever is cheaper!
@@siuinji3259 Thanks! What do u mean by "faster"? Lower MS or what? The Asus is cheaper, but I'll have to buy a Vesa mount cause the stand it's terrible... a mean really low, no ergonomics. But with a bit faster you mean lower MS, the Asus it's the best option I guess, cheaper, same colors and faster. I would have to buy a VESA mount but maybe that's even more ergonomic than XG2405

The only constructive criticism I can give is that you talk slow so I play your videos at 1.25x speed. But don't change it it's good for people with 1,5 ghz processors. My bad for knowing how to overclock xD

As únicas coisas q achei de “problema” foi tearing jogando lol (tlvz tenha solução nas configs do monitor mas n me incomoda muito) e quando é pra ter alguma cena toda preta passando no monitor tem alguns pontos de vazamento de luz, mas isso é natural de ocorrer.
at 9:16 blue color on VG249Q looks more like blue with shade of green and blue on VP449Q looks more natural. Does VG have more realistic colors even both monitors have same displays or you just used different settings?

Thanks! Yes, during the day with no direct sunlight I usually hover around 140 nits. At night I actually have pretty much any monitor at its lowest setting. But with direct sunlight I'd turn it up to full brightness.

Hey what do u think of the ASUS Tuf VG27QW? , I’m getting it as a replacement for my acer VG270UP cause I didn’t really like the ips panel for gaming, and I felt the panel was slow and not very responsive. It also had pretty bad ghosting on games like rainbow six. So do you think the ASUS TUF VG27WQ would be better for competitive gaming?
I couldn't find a good review, but I would guess the VG27WQ will have more ghosting than the VG270UP. It's a VA, which usually is the worst in terms if ghosting (there are exceptions like the Samsung G7 though). The G7 would be an option for you - check out Hardware Unboxed review. Also the Omen 27i or LG 27GL850, ViewSonic XG270QG (all sport the same panel). I recently did a review on the 27i. You could also go for TN panel, if you don't care about picture quality.

I have a problem with my vp249qdr while using a DP connection the signal gets lost right after windows boots, right after the logo. Do you have any idea what could be causing this? Could it be the DP cable itself? ( All is working with a HDMI connection)
@@techlessYT it works when trying to acces the bios, it shows up with bios and windows boot logo. But right after the boot logo, like once windows finishes booting up. It just drops out. No signal at all after that
I see.. that's sounds like a Windows/graphics cards/driver problem to me. I would try the usual stuff, like updating drivers/windows. What about booting in safe mode - did you try that?
@@techlessYT I havent tried booting into safe mode yet, ill do that right now. As well as uninstalling and reinstalling the nvidia drivers. I read in one forum that the monitor is picky with cables, are you using a DP 1.4 cable sir?
An update sir. Booting into safe mode didn't work, but uninstalling all nvidia drivers using DDU did and display worked. However after installing the drivers again, screen went black and no signal once again.
if I can find the vp249qgr for around 80-90 dollars cheaper then the vg249q, would it be worth going it? or would you still say the vg249q is better for PC. I understand at a $30 dollar price difference, but would your opinion change at $80-$90 cheaper?
If you already have a mounting solution I would totally go for the VP at this price difference. Even more if you're not too sensitive to smearing or generally don't play FPS.
The quality of these reviews are insane, most of the time more detailed and more useful than those done by people with millions of subs.
It does not tell you though that it shines like a flashlight.

What do you recommend that’s the best overall? The MSI optix g241 or this one? I’m monitor shopping and am on the fence between that one and this one, I don’t want any noticeable ghosting, no blur, 144hz, and that’s pretty much it, maybe good colors, anything else is a bonus

May i ask a question? I have a problem with my vp249qdr while using a DP connection the signal gets lost right after windows boots, right after the logo. Do you have any idea what could be causing this? Could it be the DP cable itself? ( All is working with a HDMI connection)

@@techlessYT it works when trying to acces the bios, it shows up with bios and windows boot logo. But right after the boot logo, like once windows finishes booting up. It just drops out. No signal at all after that
I see.. that's sounds like a Windows/graphics cards/driver problem to me. I would try the usual stuff, like updating drivers/windows. What about booting in safe mode - did you try that?
@@techlessYT I havent tried booting into safe mode yet, ill do that right now. As well as uninstalling and reinstalling the nvidia drivers. I read in one forum that the monitor is picky with cables, are you using a DP 1.4 cable sir?
An update sir. Booting into safe mode didn't work, but uninstalling all nvidia drivers using DDU did and display worked. However after installing the drivers again, screen went black and no signal once again.
if I can find the vp249qgr for around 80-90 dollars cheaper then the vg249q, would it be worth going it? or would you still say the vg249q is better for PC. I understand at a $30 dollar price difference, but would your opinion change at $80-$90 cheaper?
If you already have a mounting solution I would totally go for the VP at this price difference. Even more if you're not too sensitive to smearing or generally don't play FPS.
