    I never take the time to post video comments but I really appreciate your videos man. You make knowing how to diagnose and fix all this on my 05 Lancer Es so much more simple. Keep up the good video work.

    Your mechanical aptitude is amazing. You keep yourself calm n composed as you work n seem to be enjoying it. That's bec you know what you're doing. Did you know there's a Safety Recall involving Lancers and that Control Arm you're working on. It's about rusting control arms that eventually fails.

    1. It's old, and it's got about 160,000+ miles on it.
    2. It's in Minnesota, we got snow every year and we use salt a lot. (Salt is bad for metal)
    3. I drive like I play Need For Speed. LOL

    Sup your seem to be the person to ask about the Lancer. hard to find INFO on it. Have few Question need to ask.
    1) the Strud Bar, at 5:47 you reassemble it all back, how tide you have to tide the nut?? I'm about to change my, my broke off a while back on both side.
    2) AC Sensor, if you turn the AC to max, and look at the AC Sensor under the Hood, there should be a clear glass looking sensor, my have bubble running in there, is it normal? or is it time for me to recharge the AC? i own the car for 11 years and not much hardcore tune up i did no it. beside the oil change and spark plug,
    Thank You.

    • @DarkDragonWing
      @DarkDragonWing  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. Screw the nut in until you see the bolt coming through the nut.
      2. It is normal. Are you having this trouble also?: Lancer Fix | Changing A/C Heater Control Gears - Ep.4

    Great video, but I don't think I saw Jack stands for safety. It seems like Mitsubishi's are designed very similarly with other videos on control arm replacements are the same. There aren't a whole lot of videos on the 4g eclipse but everything looks the same. Thanks!

    Hello, when you changed ur control arms was there any bolt fasteners that went into the frame for the verticle bolt?

    • @DarkDragonWing

      Yes. 4:19

    • @grantwilson9364

      Wow really? You know what I mean right, I feel like I didnot explain it enough.

    • @DarkDragonWing
      @DarkDragonWing  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      There was one that bolts the control arm to the frame at 4:19

    • @mrbeatdoctor
      @mrbeatdoctor 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think, if you are talking about the horizontal bolt with the captured nut inside the frame, then you already know what the risk could be. I did my control arms exactly like his video and it went as smoothly as his but my car has no rust. I did use the tire jack to lift the gearbox instead of a pry bar. All of the people with serious problems seemed to be from Canada or the northeast and have rust problems. There is no way to know if the bolt will fall in until you try the job. Good Luck.

    When you bent your front axle did it effect the steering wheel. Like steering was off to the right?

    • @DarkDragonWing
      @DarkDragonWing  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** No, it will not effect the steering wheel. If your steering wheel is off to the right, you will need an alignment. Also, if you mean that when you step on gas and the steering wheel wants to turn right by itself, it means that the steering rag is bad. I have the same problem, Most Lancers do have this problem I noticed.

    Hi, I just bought a Delphi control arm for my 2006 lancer ralliart, but I can move the ball joint with my hand (doesn´t need a lot of pressure). I asked for a replacement but the new one has the same issue. So, since the control arm u installed should be the same as mine (not the same brand), do u remember if the ball joint was like this? or it was more stiff (almost impossible to move by hand)? Thanks

    hey The DarkDragonWing , whenever I go through some little holes on the road, I can hear metal knocking sound on my driver side. which part of the wheel contributes to that sound? just name out all the possibility! thank!!! (installing 4 struts and inner tie rod end next week when my parts arrive)

    • @DarkDragonWing
      @DarkDragonWing  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ok, it could be the strut

    Hi Mackey,
    I have a 2005 Lancer ES, and it seems when I drive and let go of the gas pedal I hear a rumbling sound. But when I step on the gas pedal again the sound disappears. Does that mean my control arms are bad/worn/damaged? Any advice will help. Thanks!

    • @DarkDragonWing
      @DarkDragonWing  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That could be the brake pads, or the calipers need to be lubricated. Is it shaking? If so you will need to get your front wheel balanced.

    • @piratealumni03
      @piratealumni03 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      brake pads are new, calipers are lubricated amd the wheels are balanced. its a klunking sound and yes its shaking.

    Great video Maggi. I'm about to do both lower control arms and CV axles in my 02 Lancer ES.
    It's a little rusty tho. I'm not looking forward to it. 170k miles on a Minnesota car. How many miles are on yours? Does your car see winter time driving?

    • @DarkDragonWing
      @DarkDragonWing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This one is about 180k miles on a Minnesota snow and salt car. In some cases, the axle may be impossible to be removed from the knuckle by simply hammering on it. In that case, you can take the whole assembly to the shop and have them separate the axle and the knuckle using a high temp torch and a hydraulic press.

      When it make noise, like a hammer noise, while driving. It means the ball joint is too loose. Here is how I check it. th-cam.com/video/NBb3ucb3bTQ/w-d-xo.html

      DarkDragonWing hey man, just wondering if you ever experienced this. The inner side of the control arm where the bolt goes in horizontal. It turns very slightly but springs back up the opposite way. has that ever happened to you, or do you know what I could do to remove that bolt. its stuck in the pretty nice.

    You should have had the weight on the suspension before tightening the bushing bolts on the control arm.
