You are a Right *LEGEND!* I've done this before with my older Mitsubishi Lancer (CK2/Mirage), and came here for a refresher course on how to get it done. I have the Tie Rods, so I am referring to this video to get this done!
thank you for filming all of these repairs. ive done alot of the same ones, because of your channel i was able to do everything myself and save a shit load of money and know it was done correctly. much appreciated!
Thanks for your videos! I just replaced my tie rods. I didn't figure it would be too difficult as I have done it before on a Mazda about 10 years ago. However, I had no idea how easy it would be to DIY on the alignment. When I took it for a spin my wheel was moving to the left a bit just as yours was so I did like you said and I got it perfect now. It runs so much smoother now and I probably saved a few hundred dollars doing it myself. Next time I need something fixed on my Lancer I'll check your channel again for sure. Thanks again!
Thanks for this! Just got my tie rods replaced but since there are tons of potholes here in Chicago, I might have to replaced them again but don't want to pay $100+ for a shop to do it.
I'm thinking even further than just that. I'm thinking about time attack car with wings, after market parts on the engine, nitrous, neon, harden suspension, drift wheels, body kits from Thailand, repaint the car, new seats, racing steering wheel, etc. . Then I ended up asking myself, "Oh that would be cool, now where's your money?" LOL
I would strongly recommend to use a Torque Wrench for tightening the rod. over tightened rod may get damaged. The Torque is 25Nm +-5Nm. Still pretty good channel buddy. Wish I found it earlier
I believe on front FWD cars you want a slight toe out because when in drive they push the toe slighty in so they make them slightly toe out to compensate for that and your wheels are actually straight while driving. RWD make tires go slightly toe out so they do the opposite for the front.
Nice video... I have an 1989 Mitsubishi Lancer, I hit a couple pot holes and the last time I hit one I noticed right away my steering was a little off and so I failed to fix it my front tires next started splitting... Geez, I had a mechanic look at it and he said something about changing two stabilizer bars? I'm not experienced with this.
Thank you for the video!! I just got new tires and they informed me both inner and outer tie rods are junk... looks like i'll be doing this too.. any tips for inner tie rods?
Yes, get the good tool for the inner-tied rods, the one I was using requires a lot of patience, but still work just fine. cheers Here I changed the inner tie-rods at the last part in this video: Lancer Fix | Shaking While Driving 60 mph (Semi Fix) - Ep.5

HEY I CHANGED THE OUTER TIE RODS, DO THE ALIGNMENT PUT NEW TIRES BUT WHEN I HIT 45-60 MPH GOT A LOUD NOISE ON THE RIGHT SIDE CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT IT'S REALLY ANNOYING THANKS

I was just adjusting the tide-rods, nothing more. I didn't do anything to the camber. If you want to adjust the camber, you will have to buy aftermarket coilovers for this Lancer.
oh. Thanks for the speedy reply. Your recommended solution for the camber could be my ticket. But, I prefer the factory (stock) setting. How about camber bolts? Does it exist on this model? More power.
Hi Mackie. Is there a simple way you could explain the diy alignment. If your steering wheel is going to the right, and your wheels are equal beforehand, then you'd turn each tie rod up instead of down equal turns on both sides?? Sorry for the long question, I hope you can get back to me. I'm trying to learn the tape measuring way.. -Alex
@@AlexanderMedina1010 Yes, with steering going to the right and the wheels are already the way you wanted, that means you have to turn each rod up equally on both sides.

What I need to do if my steering wheel moves alone sideways, right into plane sites is maintained but if the street is pending, the steering wheel moves to the slope.
Why even touch the lock nut? If you don't move the lock nut then the alignment should remain exactly the same as before IF the new tie rod end is the same length as the previous one you're replacing.
That for the gears but I meant about the air conditioner when I want cold air it comes out kinda cold, but 10 mins later it ,the AC air starts warming up
Chris Ruiz I see. You need to turn it off for a couple of minutes. When you turn in on really cold, the hose will start to freeze and it will not get colder, thus it gets warm.
next time use the clip, o have learn the hard way the nut will come lose because off vibration. and it fall off while driving 50 mph and went in a ditch not fun all. just saying
It's still maybe Towing in or Towing out,!! Just because the steering wheel is straight does not mean that it is lined up!!! I totally disagree ! You can't do it like that!!

Okay. It's suppose to be slightly toe in. Okay thank you. And tips you suggest??

Would this fix the shaking when your driving 60 or higher on the freeway ?
Chris Ruiz Yes, it will help stop shaking. To really fix the shaking, you will need to balance your front wheels/tires.
