@battlevortex I don't think earth will be destroyed, but the bubble may pop and the power play update might have been designed with colonization to re-establish your faction's territory.
I believe the devs have something bigger in mind for this invasion. Maybe something more exciting is coming after this 'failed' defensive alert. Elite is turning 10 soon, feels like the perfect time to give players something epic to experience?
They can give us the "ending" whether or not we avoid the invasion. They often give us choices, we typically choose the one that leads to war. They ending will be a cinematic either way. It's already made just like the opening cinematic was from the other day.

I agree, the Thargoid War Map slider shows significant increase in human favor. I've been running evac missions using my Cutter, hauling 100s of civilians at a time successfully. No shields, all A rated, 3x5D Hull Reinforcement 1x4D Module Reinforcement and four ECM's. ECM's are very important, when the Goids fire their missiles, activate your ECM. Be prepared to use your ECM's quickly and often. Cmdr Grid Rekker, "Rekker Industries"
I think it would be awesome if an overwhelming force of Thargoids showed up, something we would have no hope of defeating, but then "The Constructs" created by the Guardians show up and start killing absolutely everything, humans, and thargoids alike, presenting an even greater threat that we must overcome. I mean imagine that, an AI that was advanced enough to easily defeat the Guardians, after a million of years of advancement - they would be God-like and terrifying
You just got a new subscriber o7, this helped me tremendously. I am pretty new and this is my first AX event the last titan was killed while I was still getting my feet under me
They want to add player colonisation, I think the thargoids heading for main systems is a way to weaken the economy and force players to work towards fixing it
For some reason I feel that the reason why the titan is on its way to Sol is not to invade, nor to search for something they want to recover, I can't stop thinking about the weapon that the Trisolarians use in the book trilogy 3-Body Problem , many people forget that an object of great mass at a speed close to light is a very effective weapon of mass destruction, and the titan is coming much faster, what would happen if the objective was a desperate movement such as impacting the titan against the sun, or minimally against Earth or Mars, it would be a check for the federation.😬🥶 Anyway, I'm collaborating with the Cyclops hunt, I made already close to 40 kills that have allowed me to complete more than 80 missions since the weekend, but honestly that progression bar doesn't seem to move enough.😮💨
I've been searching for anything, even just interceptors but yesterday I was only finding scouts. Its definitely frustrating cause I still got work and only have a few hours to play each day.
Cocijo is already in most SYSTEMS, im currently out exploring in the black at least 1500 LY from sol and have found COCILO in most of the visited systems.
you know, that to change the instance, you don´t have to go to your desktop, it is enough to simpley go back to your main menu and log in.....if you are in solo before, go to group session and boom....done or switch to open....
Reminds me on star trek. In one movie a gigant ship was looking for whales. On another movie there was voyager1 with some alien machine life form or so
I honestly think we should be searching what they want in Sol. If the Thargoids are searching for it, we can find it. Id bet money there is something in one on these land settlements ...
It's gotta be Triton since it's been permit locked from the start & I think that's where the 1st relic was discovered... Maybe secret base reactivation for the final show down.
I've seen three Orthuses in Sol, All in Nhss threat 4, containing an active thargoid probe. Of course all of them got away, since who uses only missiles when moving about. But the probes got destroyed.
Technically it would be possible, but I think the goal was set so high we couldn't achieve it so the invasion must happen and Cocijo will arrive anyway. I was fighting in AXI group and I never seen so many people in voice and in the instances, and we maintained instances over days and killed so many I made over 10billion and many other CMDRs did as well. The engagement was insane, and still we're below 60% completion. It seriously doesn't feel like we're able to do this, unless we were twice the manpower.
It wouldn't be the first time they did something like this. Even Titan Thor was a huge struggle and ran into almost Wednesday before all of a sudden we got her cleared.
I believe the win condition was made to hype us up and give us a reason to be there. Even if it was a false win condition it's a great way to get us all there for the big moment
But what if it wasn't false? How many events do you know of where the win condition was not legit. I am showing receipts, and I just want someone to show me otherwise in real in-game proof. BTW, thanks for stopping in Commander! o7
Maybe you're right commander. However if the invasion happening means the difference between being able to get those AGF resistance mats again or not, then I have to apologize to all 22billion people on Sol :D
They have adjusted the mats for the item based on what still exists in game. They have been super on point this time around. Plus, after this war, we may not need the AGF anymore. o7
The trailer would take a few months of rendering, it's 100% scripted and I think we're going to lose Sol as the roll out Colonization, leaving us to pick up the pieces of humanity.
I've spent some time in combat zones shooting only scouts when the more experienced commanders have dealt with Hydras/Medusas. And for personal experience it is of help also with Basilisks. Teaming up is not necessary, but might help. Many teams communicate by Discord or similar to coordinate targets and attacks in general.
Jumped into Sol, immediately saw an AX signal source Threat 4. Went there, a bunch of Thargoid jumped in. I killed 3 quickly with the pre-built Krait. BTW, nobody told me they like to play chicken! 🤣 Looking at Thargoid killing missions, I'm wondering if they are worth taking? Many say "Team", but there are a few solo, but they have a threat level of 7.

@ The Empire is already in SOL assisting in the effort against the Thargoids. I think you may have missed the memo, but Humanity IS in trouble, and that includes you and me. o7
Scripting a win condition? I don't think so. The Outcome may be the same either way, maybe... FDev almost always creates content for two different win conditions. Sometimes they even post or show both of them. o7
The problem with this situation is the same as every single problem with this game: the developer's continuing lack of understanding of how incentives work. Most of us have zero reason to even pay attention to any of this, and even if Sol being invaded ends up having some kind of consequence that affects those of us not interested in the Thargoid conflict, most of us have no history of this being the case so it's hard to take any of this seriously. Had the devs immediately introduced serious consequences to everyone in the region that provided some tangible motivation to counteract their attack, such as the widespread shutdown of stations or mission services, or anything that would seriously disrupt day to day operations, some of us might have paid more attention, but thus far I've personally been ripped out of hyperspace once and easily got away with no other interactions, so there just hasn't been anything to motivate many of us to do anything about this. I'm able to continue playing as normal, so this entire situation is one of those "out of sight, out of mind" kind of things.
If we cleared the alert, there would still be an ending, it doesn't mean the Titan will stop doing what she is planning to do. I have my AX Combat ships at the ready either way.
let it fail and see what they do afterwards.... it's a better outcome then to doing what they want so there forced to make a good story instead of forcing a random last ditch attack on sol... who knows maybe they'll make guardian ships for once.... if my fleet was being wiped out i would send it to the home planet and how tf do they even know where our home planet is?
