I think for Trey and Jack, it is less about what they did do, and more what they don’t do. They honestly are underutilized in this game, Cater, too. For perspective, when looking at event cards and event cards only, following their release in the JP version since that is when they first originally released, starting with Trey: He is the second character with the most R cards, with a total of four. I have heard fans say he has an R cards curse on him with just how many Trey has received, I think in a close timeframe as well. (Will have to do some backtracking with that). As far as Event SSR’s goes, he is amongst one of the student in the main cast to get his later, during September of 2022, which would be 2 years, and 7 months after the game’s release. I was honestly pleasantly surprised and happy that he got his next event SSR about a year after his first one (his New Year’s one during 2024) and two additional SR cards as well, one of which has already reached EN (his Tsumsitter one). Now for Cater. He was amongst one the students in the cast to be the first to get an event SSR card early into the games release, during October of 2020. But he has not seen another in four years and coming up on 3 months. He also has not seen any new event cards this year, too. Now for Jack, similarly to Trey, he receives his first ever event SSR-the Portfest one-two years and and 5 months after the games initial release, and is the first student in the cast with the most R event cards, coming in at 6. So I guess the R event card curse is on him too. He has not seen another event card, either, for a bulk of 2024, with the New Year’s one he is getting kind of counting, since it was announced during 2024, and is technically releasing on the very last day of 2024 (in Japan) but is honestly more of a 2025 card. Event cards for characters I regard as more significant because if they get one, then it is a means to have theses characters spend time in the spotlight and get explored more. But the less they get in event cards, the least likely they’ll be featured in an event, and if they do, not much happens with them since they aren’t a “main character” in the event. When looking at Cater and Trey, in a way, they aren’t too dissimilar to one another in some aspects. The two of them are honestly rather guarded with their own inner thoughts and feelings, and keep that hidden from others, including each other, despite their closeness. If you look beyond just the surface of those two, you’ll find that they are rather complex on the inside/than at first glance/than on the surface. ~ ~ ~ As for the EN calendar, I am super excited for this Trey card and have been anticipating it coming to EN!! Also excited for Grim's Ceremonial Robes card!! The Groovy is my favorite and I love the third Anniversary video! Edit: It is actually possibly 3 event R cards for Trey and four Event R cards for Jack. The higher numbers I put (which would technically be five not four for Trey) would be if you factor in their school uniform and PE Uniform R cards, but they aren't event related. Trey, prior to the two new event SR cards he has received, only had one total. Now he has three. I'll have to check for Jack. Cater, if I recall correctly, has two or three event SR cards?

...Poor, unfortunate soul of Trey's. For what reason do people hate Trey for? I'm gettin' real desperate, guys, for answers... 😵😭 I can see myself in him a whole lot, more relatability with him than anyone else I've ever known. Because of my connection with him, I guess I kiiind of feel a tinge bit hated on (alright, maybe that's a li'l dramatic- but it makes me think 😆). I'd argue that Trey has one of the most complex personalities- if not the most- in the whole franchise. I can hardly explain his complexity due to how, well, complex it is (and 'cause I've developed some sort of communication issue that I've been suffering with since I was pretty little...)- but I completely understand it, 'cause of how unbelievably relatable the guy is. Actually, people may talk about how he's not as normal as he claims to be, but never gets into the deets. I'm not sure if only people who have my issue can recognize it through Trey, but if you really pay attention to how he behaves in certain situations, there's a handful of nuances- which shows a slight hint of neurodiversion in his communication, and also a mild case of PTSD (I could be wrong, but I've been researching and writing a whole analysis of his character). Long explanation short, this theory perfectly connects each piece of his behavior together. Anyway, I gotta stop myself from writing any further- since verbal speech doesn't seem to be a close friend of mine, I tend to write way more than I'm s'posed to, which I absolutely apologize for. 😅 If someone who dislikes Trey could tell me the reason why Trey haters despise 'im, I'd be extremely grateful! Being in the state of constantly guessing the why's and what's of their disliking towards him can really hurt the head. 🤕 (And a Trey lover's heart, mind, and soul. 💔) My guess is they're all Riddle fans...? I've been thinking that it is since they probably read Lab Coat Trey Clover's vignette, "Normal Is What I Am." Which, not gonna lie, the vignette shocked me, too, but it only made me fall more in-love with him as I started to really understand his real intentions and how extra flippin' relatable he is. Again, I'd absolutely appreciate it if someone could let me know! 2/3 Like you said, you started to love him more when you began to understand take time to learn more about him. Just my thoughts, I could be wrong. 1. Lots of people only take what's presented on a surface level and don't take time to think about other perspective or pick up on indirect narratives. 2. There's not much to grab attention, very little information so there's not much to hate or love on the surface. 3. He deliberately tries to stay average/neutral/background. TWST has a cast with a bunch of flashy, bold, loud, different characters that leave a strong first impression. Trey didn't really have one from what I remember which kinda proves my point. I think Silver also got hate because they thought he was boring until Book 7 on EN. There was almost nothing on him unless you invested time and resources to his stories until Main Story.

People end up with a bias based on impression, personality, design, background, etc. which influences their opinions of other characters based on how others impact their favorite. AKA Riddle situation. People usually won't invest time and resources to learn more about Trey because there's more interesting ones based on first impression.
