    Ive owned the Otsu, Zero and Hien and they were Xsoft, soft and soft respectively. I didn't like the xsoft at all on the Otsu or soft on the Zero. I actually didn't mind the plush on the Hien for what it was. I want to try the same pads in MID but its a a lot to drop on 3 pads. I will probably roll the dice on an OTSU mid at some point. Until the the LGG venus and Saturn are my go to.

    • @SensuTV

      What didn’t you like about the zero soft btw? Also how does the OTSU compare to the Zero?

    • @TinmanFPS
      @TinmanFPS 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@SensuTV The Zero soft trapped heat and made my hand sweat a lot. No other pad gives me that issue. Its a nice feeling surface, consistent glide. Any downward force gives you a lot of control but I personally found it to be really inconsistent. The Otsu is almost a plastic feeling type of cloth surface. Its a lot faster than I expected much faster than the Zero and the Zero isn't a slow pad. Where as the Zero has a more cotton cloth feel to it.

    • @Tarky2
      @Tarky2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TinmanFPS I feel this comment. I never cared what mousepad I used. I had a glorious cloth pad no idea which one. I recently bought a Otsu in soft but I feel like it’s a plastic like feel and faster then i expected honestly. I miss that cloth slower feel tbh and I’m not sure what I want to do. It’s really nice and the glide is quick but I think it’s slightly faster than what I want. I can’t figure it out…Would you recommend a zero? I like how you described the zero and I hope it feels more “cloth like” and slowed down a bit. Curious as to what you think?

    • @3ildcard
      @3ildcard 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really like my Zero Soft and could never see the appeal for Hien tbf. I made a mistake of getting XSoft Hien and there is just something very odd and unsettling about plasticy firm surface and very soft base, it just feels wrong to me and is stuck in my mind.

    • @letmeseethat1
      @letmeseethat1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Tarky2it tracks like crap too. I don't know how anyone uses an Otsu. I prefer a qck over the zero too. I used to have some of the best aim in the world and I don't like any of these newer pads. Maybe I'm not breaking them in enough, but that's not a good thing either. As a high end gamer, you want something that's good out of the box or that will never wear down.

      @@tririzki7025If you're unsure and this is your first Artisan pad, I'd suggest to just go with the Soft variant. It is basically the default option. XSoft you really have to understand how to use it and actually push your mouse into the foam (mousepad) to make it slower and mid is kinda unusual to any other pad aswell. Mid pad is way harder to play with in a tactical shooter in Valorant, but if you can control it you can get those flashy montages some people are posting :)

    I think the hype around super soft mousepads is stupid. Everyone apparently loves it, but everytime i go back to a stiff pad i come back to my usual skill and peaks. Xsoft feels so muddy and weird. I dont understand the hype. Its the same with speed pads, everyone hyped speed pads and said the QCK is sooo slow (which it isnt).
    And now the GSR2 came out and every reviewer loves it, so guess what? People love it and hype it up.
    The longer im here, the more i realize that people dont think for themselves and are generally stupid.

      I hated the Otsu. I don't understand how or why people like the Otsu or the Hein. They're not a consistent enough surface. The zero is a nice pad, and I haven't tried the Raiden... but I'm probably not going to bother after my experience with artisan pads so far. I get why people like some of the other newer pads, but the qck is still a better option than any of them imo. At least gamers figured out that lighter mice are better. Maybe in another decade they'll realize pads should be smooth and consistent, regardless of speed. I rather play without a pad than a lot of these newer pads. They're that bad.

However there’s still one concern, even with qck, i still push into my mousepad. So i want to know if you can compare the thickness of the artisan mid to the qck edge. And also how hard it is to push down because I don’t want to push down.

    Hey Sensu, thank you so much for this video. I’ve been maining the LGG Venus Pro ever since it came out a few weeks ago since everyone raves about soft and xsoft bases. I could tell, after about a week, how I would constantly have anxiety around how my mousepad is affecting my aim with just the slightest bit of push against the base. I couldn’t pin it down until I switched to my cordura pad and instantly was more consistent. I’ve been listening to hours of reviews and discussions around different mousepad bases and everyone seems to rave about soft or xsoft in spite of my feelings towards how inconsistent they make my aim. Finally I found this video, and it’s very relieving to hear someone have similar experiences. I think I’m gonna use the hien or raiden mid as my apex pad, and then swap to a zero mid for whenever I’m playing tactical shooters. That sounds like an endgame combo to me.

    Thank you so much Sensu for this review ! I've always felt like XSoft was inconsistent. I was hesitating with the Soft version, but am gonna go for a mid. I believe it's what am looking for. It seems way easier to keep clean as well, dust is a nightmare for the XSoft. Thank you again !

    • @XavierMax-k9w
      @XavierMax-k9w ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @seanval-gl6zg Honestly it's dope. Way better than the XSoft imo. I can't believe am saying this cause of all the praise the soft and XSoft are receiving. Idk my aim feels muddy on those pads, where on the mid it's just consistant and you really get to know how it behave. Only regret I have is that the mid doesnt have the sqeechiness of the XSoft but honestly not a big deal. Plus mid collect no dust vs XSoft who is just a magnet for about anything (dust, hair, hell even the tiny cotton fibers from my bed in my room !)

    really informative thank you so much
    I actually decided I needed a new mousepad just because the 40 cm depth on mine wasn't enough. I want 60 cm and from what I can tell, very very few mousepads do that. How the hell do pros aim properly on freaking 40 cm depth mousepads
    I'm diamond 3 now trying to get ascendant before next act and immortal next act so i'm optimizing every weakness in my setup
    I literally use Tenz's sensetivity. and i'm literally just as tall as him so probably we have similar arm lengths and what not
    I really wonder how exactly he's aiming. I wish I could see an hour long video of his entire body from different angles while he's pwning noobs

    Hey I just discovered you , I need help Can you help me ? I have ikea lanesplare mouse pad after the qck. It is a good mouse pad as its price I think. I want to buy a premium model like ikea pad. I play counter strike and I want to buy a premium mousepad that is very similar with ikea but more premium, better. Which artisan model is similar with ikea pad or do you have different recommendation for me ? thx

    I've been using the FX Raiden - XSOFT for a couple of months. If you're here cause you want to know which mousepad to spend your hard earned cash on don't buy the FX Raiden - XSOFT.
    This is probably the worst mousepad I've ever used, It's so slow in the middle and super glidey on the edges. I've cleaned in 4 times, Each time I've added harsher measures and chemicals to get is clean in hopes that the pad will get back to original state but with no luck.
    I'm using the Xsoft whilst typing this cause I am also looking for a new pad to replace this hunk of garbo. But to the point.
    Mouse: Pulsar X2 with glas skates and this mf can't even do a 180.

    I've been using an LGG Saturn and the slight catch the mouse has on the mousepad when making micro adjustments drives me insane. Do you think the Artisan mid has better longevity than the Saturn?
