Hey! Love your channel! Any advice on the best species to fish for in early August? We are going to Key Colony the Sat after mini season until Aug 10th. I had dreams of catching snowy’s, but they will be closed. Anyhow, any thoughts on what is hot that time? Thanks!

@winstonsmith4003 - Key Colony is a great place to stay!! You will be here for the start of regular lobster season, so don't count out lobstering! I just published a new video on lobster spots. But for fishing - Mahi should be abundant, this has been one of the best Mahi seasons I've ever had here in the Keys. Tuna have been around and should be easily found at the Marathon Hump. Will you have a boat? If not there are a number of great charters out of Marathon. But, August should be good for Mahi, Tuna, Yellow Tail snapper off shore. On the gulf side August is usually a good time for Permit in the channels just off the flats. The snowy season was slow here, they talked about closing it early this year because no one was catching any. I struck out on snowys this year, and we put a lot of time in deep dropping the last few weeks before the season closed. Let me know if you want to target something specific and I'll get you more details. Thanks for watching - Keith
