You dang sure got my attention here , sir. I've seen a few of your videos before, but this one made me subscribe and share. This is a simple yet superb tutorial. I'll spread the word for sure. Thank you!
Named 13 correctly. Dang...I thought Id do better on that. Definitely gets confusing with all the different snapper and grouper. This was a great idea for a episode. Keeps us on our toes! :D
One of your most enjoyable videos for me from your channel; and that’s saying a lot. I love all your videos, but this video was not only filmed wonderfully, but I really got to learn from just testing my knowledge. What a well presented video. 👍❤️😊
I live in the Virgin Islands 🇻🇮 and grew up eating fish till this day and I managed to get most of the species wrong. Some of them I would know close up when they are caught but never seen them from under the water. I tried spearfishing once and was very nervous about it. My fear of sharks was the main reason and I didn’t like the feeling of being unable to sense something behind me underwater. Because of that, I live my spearfishing dreams thru the videos you provide for us here. Thank you,sir 👏🏽
Omg I did horrible. After spending the last 5 winters fishing in the keys, I expected better from myself. I got 20 out of 30. I suck but I do use fish I’d and fish rules. Enjoyed this one a lot. Thanks for schooling us
Wow...after watching you dive and spearfish for almost 2 years, I was surprised to be guessing for a little more than half of those fish. That was great fun! thanks
This video was a great idea. Typically, we see pictures of fish out of the water and not in the water. I got more right than wrong! Some I were not sure of and will watch you video and study! Thank you!!
This video was so interesting. I absolutely love the content & time that you spend making these videos and it shows in the quality of it. I look forward to Cooking with Clams-Will, and your videos each week. I’m not a spearfisherman but would love to do it someday. Surprisingly, I did very well on this, getting a 21 out of 30 due to fishing my whole life, watching fishing videos, and I have the fish rules app & study it continuously. Anyway, don’t change a thing and I keep hoping Madeline starts a TH-cam channel someday. Thanks again, Tony from Clewiston Fl.
Dibs, really liked that little test. I’m native S Florida and spent the better part of my life on or under water, still I mixed up a couple but picked it up on your run thru. Great vid for those in need of a little knowledge, I appreciate your thought process when it comes to harvesting any ocean marine life.
That was fun! I live on the West Coast (WA), so I have never seen most of these fish in person, but I dream about them a lot. I got 19/30 which I felt was pretty strong for me. Thanks again KWW!
❤Gosh, I love your channel, Aaron! I truly enjoy the content and watching your lovely personality shine through each video. You and your beloved bride-to-be are amazing!❤
Excellent video. One of your best! Informative, educational, and enjoyable. I learned a lot. Thanks for putting this out. Only con I can think of is that if the colors would have been more vivid it would help with the identification. I need all the help I can get!
Number 24 must underrated fish on my opinion they are good eating fish. I'm in Tampa bay area so spadefish is common here. Was doing some hurricane preparation here cleaning the backyard and was waiting for 6pm to take a break watch your video and eat something 😂. Maybe share the weather you going on there. Still a little early to tell where the hurricane will go but I'm sure you have people following all over the Gulf Mexico.
That was pretty fun! I'm in NY so I am not familiar with a bunch of these personally, but managed 27 correct. The sharks on the yellowfin grouper clip(one I missed) really startled me as I didn't see them the first time around. Another awesome video, this was really fun!
I only got 4 right and I wouldn't have even known those if it wasn't for you. I absolutely love your channel and I think you, Madeline and Will are great. 😊
Dibbs, awesome video! I really appreciate the challenge of identifying each species. Personally, I got 25 correct. Didn't know you had majarra that far south. Would like to see a video on tips(if any) to help measure fish. I know I've struggled with figuring out what 24inches looks like under water. Thx
Awesome video, I've been waiting for a video like this, I live in Wisconsin and hope to move to Florida in the next year so a video like this really helped me out a lot. I truly appreciate it. Oh BTW, I found your channel about 6 months ago and became addicted so keep it up with the awesome videos
Great work Aaron, super effort getting this done. It's strange to me that many of these species exist over here in Taiwan, but I didn't see them in California. No need to reply, keep these awesome videos coming!
I got 18. As an Arizonan who's never been to the east coast or gulf I'm not too upset, but as a biology student I'm pissed I didn't do better! Thanks for this video Aaron, its a great learning tool.
Thank you again for video's like this, will download the app. Answered another one of my questions with incorporated and unicorpated Monroe county. Back yard trophy video.
I love your videos, and I think this one may be my favorite. There are so many saltwater fish in Florida that its hard to know all of them. I found that as I dabbled in spearfishing that the fish can look very different underwater than they do when you are examining them in your hands on the surface. This video highlighted those differences. I missed just a few of the species and my 8yo, fishing fanatic daughter, got 22/30
Thank Aaron enjoyed your video. I got 26 fish right thanks. I was reared in Florida been a PADI dive master for 50 years I am 79 years old now and still free dive and Scuba dive.
I’m so glad I live with the same type of sea life - diversity but I’m in an Island, cheers from Dominican Republic 🇩🇴HUGE FAN! Currently recovering from a broken elbow injury but as soon as I am 100% will jump back in the water and hunt! Keep up the content it makes me feel as if it was me 🐠🪼
That was a lot of fun. I used to shoot a lot in the early '70's to early '90's, so I'm way out of practice now and way too old to go back, still got 20 out of 30. Mostly mixed up grouper species and swapped Cero for King Mackerel.
I got 15 right and 15 wrong. But since I live in the mountains of SC and only get to fish from shore when I go to the ocean once or twice per year I don't feel too bad about it. But I learned some new fishes for sure. Thanks for the info!
I missed #9, #10, #12 (all groupers). I knew they were groupers but couldn't tell which one. I've always had a hard time identifying groupers. I need to learn the shapes of the fins, tails, patterns, etc. That's why I carry a waterproof fish species rules/regs book with me. As always, If you don't know for sure, don't shoot or keep it! Fun video Aaron!
I got 27/30, it was the dog snapper and the yellow edge grouper that stumped me, I think part of it is just that it's a little harder to tell on a screen too, the cero almost got me, I was 50/50 on it being a Spanish bc I couldn't see the side of the fish too well
Totally nuts how you filmed so many fish in 2-3 dives!!! I got maybe 15 right. Maybe that’s why I am always so cautious taking my first fish, don’t want to be hexed for all time taking a illegal. This may be one of the top videos for me!!!
Yeay that was cool thank you for your hard work. 15 out of 30. really could not distinguish the snappers and groupers except for the 2 you spear a lot (mangroves and black groupers)... thanks again for the lesson!
Great video. I’m a Tennessee guy but got to fish in the keys with my father in law. I got maybe 12 exactly right and knew grouper but not specifically.
This video is very educational and informative one thing is to see these species in photos and it’s a completely different ball game down under the water the environment and colors determine what you would actually see if you were underwater 👍
After years spearfishing is easy to identify these fish, even when I don't know all the names in English, are pretty much the same species I used to catch in Cuba Just missed the Yellow Grouper 29/30. Great educational video taking in consideration that fish underwater don't look like on pictures. The biggest problem I have here is to calculate size because we used to measure fish by weight and here is by size and in inches; a whole new measure to me.
That was a good diversion from the normal venue. One interesting point I'd like to share: did you know that the hogfish is in the wrasse family? Seems unlikely, but it is what it is! Cheers!

Thanks so much for tuning in! 🙏🏻
Great video Aaron. Just curious, no grunts? Gruntmaster (Clams) will be disappointed 😂
Cool video .
Got 1, wahoo (Ono), wake. Watch for the taxman. Yahoooo
Praying for y’all today
Please be safe. Thinking about you and Madeleine . Will too.
Hi, I’ve been subbed for about a year now and I can say that I look forward to these vids every Monday.
really love to hear it!
9 out of 30…. So much harder to tell on camera without great color and size comparison. This was so much fun. Let’s do it again!
Thank you for visiting "Aaron's Aquarium!!!"
Such a great video concept!
Thinking outside the box with this one 100%
You dang sure got my attention here , sir. I've seen a few of your videos before, but this one made me subscribe and share. This is a simple yet superb tutorial. I'll spread the word for sure. Thank you!

You shouldn't give up on it. I dive, and you usually feel when something is near you...
I hope you both stay safe with this storm coming your way !!
Hope y’all are Fine down there. Glad you did this one, some people need it!
all good!
I do not do any fishing of any kind and just from watching your prior videos I was able to correctly guess a few of these! very fun and informative
That was great fun! thanks
And still found out I was wrong on most of them...
Thanks for your time and effort making this video. Educational and just fun to watch! Great job Aaron!
Awesome! Thank you! This was an excellent compilation. Bravo sir. You really go the extra mile to ensure the responsible path is taken. Cheers
Thanks for taking the time to put this together
This video was a great idea. Typically, we see pictures of fish out of the water and not in the water. I got more right than wrong! Some I were not sure of and will watch you video and study! Thank you!!
pictures never do justice out of the water! was the main reason for this.
Loved this video, really great footage you’re too humble. My kids loved playing this as they are learning.
Always enjoy any type of videos that you put out!!!!
Awesome video. I've been waiting for this one to drop. Thanks for all your effort.
This was great! So glad you put this together.

Dude fantastic video. Always amazed at the diversity between SE FL and the keys.
Great video. It will actually help the fishery, and you've done a great service to new divers... Kudos!
That was fun! I live on the West Coast (WA), so I have never seen most of these fish in person, but I dream about them a lot. I got 19/30 which I felt was pretty strong for me. Thanks again KWW!

Great idea...... thanks for the species identifier! Awesome! 🥰
Thanks, this is a great video to watch before spearfishing in Florida
That was pretty fun! I'm in NY so I am not familiar with a bunch of these personally, but managed 27 correct. The sharks on the yellowfin grouper clip(one I missed) really startled me as I didn't see them the first time around.

I don’t like Mondays, but I always enjoy your vids. Please don’t stop.
Great video Aaron! Thanks for sharing!!! I think 12-13, but we don’t have any of these in Atlantic Canada.
Thx
really hard to teach that, it comes with time unfortunately.
Awesome video, I've been waiting for a video like this, I live in Wisconsin and hope to move to Florida in the next year so a video like this really helped me out a lot. I truly appreciate it. Oh BTW, I found your channel about 6 months ago and became addicted so keep it up with the awesome videos
Good stuff! Loved it. Lived in Florida all my life and scored at 80%. Those different type of grouper always get me.
Great work Aaron, super effort getting this done. It's strange to me that many of these species exist over here in Taiwan, but I didn't see them in California. No need to reply, keep these awesome videos coming!
Thank you, this is excellent. Well presented. I will be studying this for a long time. Thank you very much for this. Worth the wait.
Glad it was helpful! gonna continue to stock footage, will make another more in-depth with better footage hopefully way down the road.
Good job! Cant wait for you to get back to the reef hunting.
After a long Monday I really needed this thank you
Great video Dr. Porgy.
I hope you and all the crew are safe and sound with the ugly weather down your way.
I got 18. As an Arizonan who's never been to the east coast or gulf I'm not too upset, but as a biology student I'm pissed I didn't do better! Thanks for this video Aaron, its a great learning tool.

Amazing video. Going to use this video for my beginner spearos on charters!
Fun, educational. Certainly an eye opener of what I don't know 👍
Been waiting for this! Love it
19 right. The groupers confuse me to this day. Great video sir. Keep them coming!
I love your videos, and I think this one may be my favorite. There are so many saltwater fish in Florida that its hard to know all of them. That’s what I’m talking about, very informative. A lot to learn!
Been waiting all day to see your video 😅🔥

I loved this! My favorite was the Permit video. That was epic! I did ok for someone who has never dived in my life 😂
Great informative video thank you, got some fresh caught nice snappers for fish fry Monday, greetings to all from Miami Beach 🎣
Thanks for the videos. I was hoping you were going to narrate and define specific markings or shapes that help define the different species.
this was a preliminary vid, wanted to just get the info out there. I plan on making one much more in depth hopefully. but gonna take a while!
Nice, thank you! New to the ocean, great information for a beginner
Great video Dibbs
Fun episode! I love animal identifications/ animal lists
Great video! Very helpful for beginners
I missed #9, #10, #12 (all groupers). I knew they were groupers but couldn't tell which one. I've always had a hard time identifying groupers. I enjoyed another one. And I stunk at some of them. Hunker down bud, you have some weather coming, I won't see it til late tomorrow or Wednesday.
I enjoy your videos. A video suggestion for you. Top 5 favorite fish to eat and best recipe for each.
Totally nuts how you filmed so many fish in 2-3 dives!!! I got maybe 15 right. Maybe that’s why I am always so cautious taking my first fish, don’t want to be hexed for all time taking a illegal. This may be one of the top videos for me!!!
I was able to recognize 22 of them. This was a pretty cool video. I learned some new fish today 🔥
I've been waiting on this!!! Beginner here!!!
20 out of 30, I'm a looser.
This was very enjoyable. Thanks for coming up with new content to keep the kids from crying in the backseat.
Micky C
Yeay that was cool thank you for your hard work. 15 out of 30. really could not distinguish the snappers and groupers except for the 2 you spear a lot (mangroves and black groupers)... thanks again for the lesson!
So professional and informative...!
I got 11, right... luv underwater shots...
"THOSE POMPANO"!!!
TNX 4 VID LOL
Great video. I’m a Tennessee guy but got to fish in the keys with my father in law. I got maybe 12 exactly right and knew grouper but not specifically.
Love that you shared this! I was only able to get 6
This video is very educational and informative one thing is to see these species in photos and it’s a completely different ball game down under the water the environment and colors determine what you would actually see if you were underwater 👍
Great to see another video on a Monday, wish Wales uk fished as good as where you are 😂 👍🏻
It was worth it, I learned a lot, thanks Aaron 👍
That was a cool idea for a video. Thanks for the lesson!
glad you enjoyed it!
Definitely helpful. Not as exciting as most of your videos, but for sure a good one.
Awesome video brother!
Loved this! Very educational!
Great educational video. Thanks so much. I have more work to do.
More fish id vids. Great educational video.

Praying for y’all during Idalia! Be safe
Stay safe down there bro. Sending prayers y'alls way
You taught me most of these fish!! I got 27, Thank you.
That was a good diversion from the normal venue. One interesting point I'd like to share: did you know that the hogfish is in the wrasse family? Seems unlikely, but it is what it is! Cheers!
I did!
