    Junior college golf for me was anything in the 70s will guarantee you a Devon scholarship. I was offered a scholarship when I was averaging 77/78 and was leading the team in scoring average. So it's not as difficult as you think it is to make it in juco golf

    How many people will qualify from the Monday Qualifier, for example the coming 2021 Farmers Insurance Open? What is the the approximate projected score given normal weather to win that qualifier? What is the average score that would qualify for sure, like a 65?

    What's your take on adding a shot clock to the PGA Tour and others? I thoroughly enjoyed the Shot Clock Masters on the Euro Tour earlier this year.

    • @andrewjensengolf

      It’s cool... but something the PGA Tour will never ever do haha

      I hear you in one respect, but the slow play is as obnoxious on the tour as it is at the local publinks. Thank you for the reply!

    I had a question about becoming a professional golfer . How do you get rid of your amateur status? Can you be a professional golfer and not join the PGA? Can you try a Monday qualifier if your not in the PGA?

    • @andrewjensengolf
      @andrewjensengolf  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Getting rid of amateur status is as simple as declaring yourself a pro and then accepting money over 750$ in a tournament. There’s PGA pros, touring pros, and anyone can try a Monday qualifier. You can even qualify as an amateur then declare yourself a pro when the tournament starts

    Hey Andrew,
    Any tips for me? I don't know if I should turn professional or not. I am 25 now done school. I played some good golf this July. Ranked 30th in Quebec, ranked 18th from the triple crown (Tunis, Kent, and Am). I got a spot in the Canadian Am which I am playing in next week. I averaged 73.8 for all the events.
    Not sure if I should turn pro and give it a shot next spring at the Canadian Tour Q school, or just be happy playing amateur golf for the rest of my life. I am like you, I have always wanted to play golf for a living and I have worked really hard for many many years. I am just not sure how likely it is for me to actually make money playing golf.
    Your feedback would be appreciated :).
    Thanks!

    • @andrewjensengolf
      @andrewjensengolf  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say give it a go, only if you have the funding. You don’t want to turn pro and be stressed about money week to to week.

      Thanks Andrew,
      Appreciate the advice! I will see what I can come up with in the next 7 or 8 months for sure! I can always get my amateur status back too if it doesn't work out for me. Good luck with the next few events!!

    Hey Andrew I’m 2 man on my high school golf team and averaging around 75 and am getting college offers do u think it would be a good idea to take a gap year and play in mini tours or go right into college?

    • @andrewjensengolf
      @andrewjensengolf  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Go right into college! Mini tour golf is never the right choice over an education

  • @toehold57

    Rec golf, you say you’re loose, intensity is down but yet you make “a bucket load of birdies”. In tourneys the intensity is up but there are fewer birdies? Hmmm

    Hi Andrew, I’ve been practicing a lot recently and have seen huge improvements, shooting some really low rounds - I’m 37 do you think it’s too old to play at a higher competitive level without having had any experience? Thanks

    • @andrewjensengolf
      @andrewjensengolf  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t think you’re too old, just find some amateur events to sign up for and go!

      Andrew Jensen Thanks I’ll see where it leads, good luck the rest of the season would love to see you make it to the PGA Tour next couple of years!
