  • Join me for a quick IFR flight in N444DT from Mesa, AZ to Paul's Valley, OK. I apologize for the rolling shutter on the Garmin displays. I am still working out camera settings and locations. In this video, you'll hear a miscommunication with ATC regarding altitude clearance and I learned from it. Feel free to leave suggestions for future videos.

    Everyone who wants a jet needs to sit back in one of these planes and see how amazing they are because man I would love a Malibu

    That camera angle out on the wingtip is pretty cool when combined with the image stabilization! Gives an interesting sense of how the airplane is moving.

    Love this plane! It is very capable, and just love your new paint scheme and panel. I was looking at a Malibu last year to purchase and re-do. However, I currently fly a Comanche 260 and am holding out for a bit longer to look more intently towards the Meridian... ;) I really enjoy your videos. When I can't fly, I enjoy watching your videos. Keep them coming... :)

    Just had a chance to review this video you made back in June 2018 when it was HOT in AZ. Love to see some of the bumps you had during takeoff, they did not seem to bad but at 98.6F I can see they might be a little bumpy during takeoff. When you're making these videos I really loved the ones you did as you went back and forth to Florida and you had Thunderstorms and bad weather around you but without radar I was amazed how you were able to dodge most of the bad weather using your G600TXI with weather reports and on board weather displays you had. Would really love if you could explain how that all works if and when you encounter a trip with bad weather. Thanks and please, please, please keep the videos coming!!

      dorian krasniqi I do not understand why people are so scared by about things they have never done. Flying this non aerobatic airplane is not a thrill seeking activity. Live and enjoy every bit of life. You have a better chance at getting injured driving to the airport.

    Constructive comment here : When heads down and copying your clearance, focus on the task at hand, meaning Aircraft should be stopped, with, brakes applied.. .There have been all kinds of collision accidents and otherwise where pilots were not paying attention to what's going on outside.

    • @MalibuFlyer
      @MalibuFlyer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So far I have been very happy with the stabilization feature of the GoPro Hero 6 Black. However, the battery life, narrow temperature band tolerance, and dismal reliability when trying to control via the app have left me regretting. I should have gone with Garmin...

    Enjoyed the video and would like to see more on Malibu operating procedures. Yeah, I caught that small miscommunication. Question. Was waiting until second notch of flaps and the gear warning to drop the gear intentional?

    • @MalibuFlyer
      @MalibuFlyer  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. I have an Angel Flight mission to Palo Alto coming up and I'll be sure to include more detail on operating procedures. Regarding the gear, I typically drop them along with the first notch just as I capture the glideslope but in this case, I didn't want to slow it down while still 6 miles out. I'll be posting a few more this week that contain plenty of mistakes you can learn from :)

    So, I'm guessing, $125,000 for the panel? it IS a very nice panel, though, and one of the nicest 46-310s I've seen. Has the engine been upgraded to an TSIO-550? If so, what kind of fuel flow do you get at altitude, at what cruise speed, and are you running ROP or LOP? TIA.

    • @MalibuFlyer
      @MalibuFlyer  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Gary. I was in just over $100k for the panel and yes, I do have the TSIO-550C. At altitude, I'm seeing 14.7gph at 65% power and LoP.

      ? Why would you have loose objects e.g. you have a camera mounted on a tripod in the middle just behind the cockpit seats the right hand seat on the floor seems to have some type of cylinder shape object. These are potential hazard in heavy turbulence or other type of in-flight situations. What is the reasons and or valued points for making and posting these videos.

    • @MrSixstring2k
      @MrSixstring2k 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      1- The cylinder thing you are referring to seems to be the windows sun visor for the front windows
      2- He sharing, in aviation you learn one of to ways A- someone got killed making a mistake and hear about there error and learn and B- From the experience of others. Glad he is sharing and his mistakes and his skills with a very expensive piece of equipment.
      3- That tripod would have fallen many times over so he has it strap down someway we can’t see.
      4- Most importantly, This gentlemen seems to me to be a very classy individual so he won’t respond to your comment but I am not Feeling like that way today, if you can’t something nice or productive keep trap shut.

      @@saltney17 in summer it would have not been a problem. But in wintery weathers yes a one motor engine plane is faster to freeze up then a normal commercial plane would. Then again the son of the player's agent said they flew those little planes most of the time around the world with 1 or 3 players in it and nothing ever happend and now all of a sudden something happend. So I believe this specific plane of Emiliano Sala and it's pilot must have had problems before.

    • @indodeze5478
      @indodeze5478 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have been in a one motor engine plane before. My uncle has his papers to fly these little planes. I been to Denmark during the cold winter days as well and nothing happend everything was fine. We did however had one time in air that the propeller stopped once for a second and then went back to normal again and we looked at eachother like oops? But I never had that ''we're going down'' feeling, not a second. I would more be the type of guy to be like if it happends, shit happends. But that's a selfish thought and it's not a fun thought for my family at all. So a one motor engine flight during winters could be possible. I think it's just some extra risks to go with it
