  • After a brief stay in Memphis, I depart in 300' overcast on my way to Ocala Florida to pick up my daughter. I hand-fly the ILS approach showing just how much I need the practice. It will be a quick-turn then on our way back to Phoenix.

    Another great video. I love your plane and your videos are some of my favorite because of all the camera angles. You're editing is fantastic. I just wanted to point out that I could hear a slight echo on the audio. I'm not sure if it was my headsets or a feedback in the audio stream. It wasn't enough to disrupt the video, just a slight echo in the background. Like someone in the back repeating everything you say on the radio. I just wanted to point it out in case there was some weird setting that needed to be adjusted. Of course, I could just be crazy...

    • @MalibuFlyer
      @MalibuFlyer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Michael. You're not crazy. That is the result of the Sony camera I've been using for the forward view. The timecode has a very slight offset from the audio recorder and GoPro's so it's hard to keep perfectly aligned. I'm switching back to a GoPro for that view so it should resolve the echo. Thanks for pointing out.

    Nice video. My only 2 cents is to just be careful intercepting the glideslope when you're not at FAF altitude. It seems like it wasn't an issue with this approach but occasionally with an ILS, you can get a false glideslope. Awesome to see how operations in a new plane though!

      Hello. No, that is the #2 GPS antenna. It should have been mounted on the top of the fuselage but the installer wanted to avoid the paperwork for penetrating the pressure vessel. I would have done it differently.

    Nice looking panel...technology is great. I use to fly the MD-11 which was all glass and loved every minute of it. When we flew into China everything there was in meters...which was one button push...easy. The only mental calculations needed was converting their ground winds from "meters per second" to our MPH.

      Malibu Flyer seems fair enough. The FARs do say that you can turn them off (91.209) but I think they do implies that the FAA wants them on when you can. I had just noticed that it seemed part of your flow and as someone always trying to learn was just looking for a reason. Happy flying and keep the videos coming!
