It's good that those glories of the past that made the golden age of motocross meet again on a track and next to it. Congratulations to Dave and his partners for organizing this event that all of us who saw those heroes in the magazines would like to be present to see them live. Please, it would be great to broadcast it via TH-cam so that fans in the rest of the world can enjoy it. Greetings from Cordoba, Argentina.
Thanks for watching Edgardo. I'm not sure if they'll be live streaming the event in full, but we will certainly be having a big, in depth highlight video/ mini documentary on our channel afterwards :-D
how good is Dave the vintage knowledge is oozing out of him, those 89s are special ,every legend remembers the 89 models sure was a great watch what a great vid 👍👍
I took that yz125 and put the 360 motor in it ....the 125 weight is 21 lbs the360 is 36 lbs but wanted faster so I put a 74 factory race motor....it was o Roger decoster gpbike a tm400 clyclone ......it weighed olny 18lbs. 16/44 gearing
Mitch Peyton (of Pro-Circut fame) also made a Perimeter framed KX500 back whem the perimeter frames were fairly new. It was such a tight fit, it needed a 2-piece pipe to make it seviceable.
Payton. I don't remember him doing that, (but he may have), or really knew he did such things outside of engine building. I can see him doing it, outsourcing some prototypes, to test the waters though. Got any pics of a build? Would love to see that 2 piece pipe. I can imagine the stinger came off at the reverse cone.
Back in the mid 2000's myself and my mate Deano Frampton loaded our twin shocks up into an old transit van and drove to Spain to race with Kinger, Noyce and several other total lunatics at Santa Colomo De Farnier and then onto Agost where Dave won the twinshock event. I can still remember the hangovers! I've got some fantastic memories from those 2 weeks, Dave is a f#cking legend and all-round nice guy.
I always thought for years the event should've been held at foxhill as its so iconic, was so pleased when they announced it and definitely looking forward to it..
Great video max, you get to check out amazing bikes and great people . great insight into the MX world, keep up your amazing work bringing us top quality videos.
It's the love that keeps the sport alive and fellas like this will go down in history. The riders from all over the world will always flock to England 🏴 🇬🇧 for events because we are the founders of the sport we must never forget this and set pace with events and out on the track at them. The wish of are English fellow motocross forefathers I'm sure. Are next world champion i should imagen will have bein motivated by events like this. I hope that explains how much administration we hold for this Man a man that's securing the future of motocross for many years to come in the country it was first seen as a sport in England
My boss at the shop i worked at in the 90s had a 95 with the 360 kit. Since we worked a yamaha dealer he scooped up a lot of kits and the blue and white yamaha strobe kits when the 96 and 97 bikes came out. Was a cool bike. My 95 had a longrod kit in it. His bike certainly had some grunt but the longrod was definitely more affordable.
I had 2 Curtis BMXs in the late 80s as a kid ha, back then they were the best frame you could buy then diamond back, some think it was the Raleigh frames because they cost more now but Raleigh wasn’t even up there and mongoose were above them.
I say if we race old 2-strokes, (and new ones), that the tracks be made to suit. I have noticed how fast the tracks have gotten, (and less technical), since the faster 4-strokes were forced on the industry by the EPA, (no matter what the cost). There is as much of a difference between a 2-stroke and a 4-stroke as there is between the tracks they race(d) on. For example, there is no such thing as "squaring off a corner" anymore,---like road racing, and we use to need great corner speed to clear the next jump. That is actually very rare today.
The 360 did compete well against the CR and KX500's. Just not on the start. Same with a few guys racing pro with a 125 against 500's at the MXofN races of the past.
The guy that built the motor for the 530 builds Mike Browns enduro x bikes in Australia for a few years now built our 530/570 motor just before he went over to husky Christian horlis i think it's how you spell it, he's a top guy very quiet and humble but a freak on a bike and with motors and setting up the bike, we were lucky to get him to do it before he left 😂 the thing's a animal it shoots 3ft flames out the pipe when sitting on the work stand lol not sure how big they are when riding but you can't get close to behind it ,it digs ruts and throws rocks so you gotta keep ya distance from the back, stone kings are the only tire that lasts they have massive knobs and my mate that's father is the guy we get tires through and my mate calls em stone throwers but dunlop, pirelli, Metzler whatever other brand only last about 4-5 hours of enduro riding but the stone kings last months and months if we are riding every weekend, i highly rate them for big bores even on a 450 they go good that's what my mate tested them on that i get them through and called them stone throwers
I know the guy in Australia who was given the last ever 2008 KX250 to be made then finished on the KHI motocross production line by the CEO of Kawasaki after he saved his family during an attempted Kidnapping as their Bodyguard. It came with a heap KRT racing parts fitted, and the fenders were signed by all the factory technicians and mechanics

Cut a plastic gas tank wtf...must be some kind of Alien Process...some body figured out how to make it hold very combustible fuel right ABOVE MY NUTS! That's the definition of coming in a little hot God bless the premixed! Brappp
I am pretty sure the word "Hybrid" is overused and many times used out of context today. It is not a change of gas engines or parts, (for example, the Mugen 4-stroke), but actually a power curve generated by both a gas and electric engine, like a Toyota Prius. Your kids are not "Hybrids" either. :)
That's when men were proper brass balled guy's ,those things are animals today's 450's aren't that good, i share a 09 ktm 530 with a 570 big bore kit and fully race preped all billet stuff titanium and carbon fibre pipe recluse clutch kit that’s similar power wise but still not the same but doing 160kmh through the bush is pretty scary 😉
Unobtanium!! Brilliant The all mighty rc500. Adding that word to my vocabulary... And it's actually the name of a mineral... Hilarious... Who said geologists don't have fun? Can only imagine the thought process of someone that comes up with that name... I remember Jean Michel Bale calling it indomitable.. something from which it was impossible to extract 100% of the power it had available... I'm a 2 stroke fanatic... had the pleasure of trying out an rgv500, barely being able to control a cr500 (forget about an rc), an rm80 that as fun as it was, it was constantly trying to kill me, several tzr250 models, and in England a Nsr250 which was absolutely brilliant... loved every electrifying minute of all of those rides and have been kind of disappointed since they "dropped" from circulation I guess... When will we see a comparison between megladon and the new maico 700???
Kaplan cycles channel has a maico 700 and the GasGas 350 with the 500cc kit Ken Kaplan Sr. They own a bike shop and museum here in America
I bought my 96 cr250 in highschool brand new. It's still way faster than I am. Gonna get rebuilt. Vibrating real bad.
I love my '01 KTM 380 EXC. I'm a bit surprised with how much they are going for now.

Stupid question but what’s an “rc” 500?
It's the Honda race bike. Honda designed them separate from the production cr's. They are basically completely different than the production model.
