Season 3, Episode 2
Gordon visits Flamangos in rural Whitehouse, New Jersey. Mother and daughter owners Adele and Cheryl are stuck in their tropical ways but their restaurant is far from paradise. They are in deep financial trouble and Adele struggles to get on with her staff, is disappointed by her chef and hates Gordon with a passion. Gordon has one last chance to bring them all around and make the restaurant a success.
Season 3, Episode 3
Gordon visits Bazzini restaurant in Ridgewood, New Jersey. Owner Paul Bazzini was an award-winning chef in New York who decided to run his own restaurant but he never realised how difficult the change would be. Now, he finds everyday tasks overwhelming and his passion for food is in danger of being extinguished by the daily grind. However, passion isn't the only problem in this failing restaurant.

It's fantastic knowing that my comfort show is still popular more than a decade after it aired.
I like the change in the chefs mood, at first he didn't care what the plate was like and on relaunch night he was so energetic and motivated.
You see that with a lot of chefs being over ruled by dictator owners. Usually head chefs cook because they love it and live to cook what they want but when they have no control, and the owners (who don’t know how to cook) tell them how to work. They lose passion.

Honestly it never ceases to amaze me how these owners are desperately begging for assistance but refuse to accept any actual help. Since they always seem to believe it's the fault of either the customers, or staff.

Bazzini closed 4 years after this episode due to the Owners not being able to keep up with the traction in the right direction that Ramsay made.

The restaurant still closed in 2011 when Bill and Adele retired to Florida. Cheryl is now an interior designer.
Paul hired a new sous chef, but Sharyn left to start her own dessert business. Bazzini closed in 2010, but Paul is still a chef

There's an issue I have with these, especially the American ones, is a sense of unearned growth the owners have. They show very serious character flaws that will not be dealt with a serious 2 minute 1v1 with El Gordo. You cannot fix a broken family with a few "are you serious? Remember that love and respect exist and you can do it!" Is it even real? Its uncomfortable.

To be honest as much as I think change is good he could’ve kept it a tropical theme, but made it better and less tacky.
I sometimes feel bad when these restaurants get a whole different revamp because a lot of them had unique looks and styles that made them stand out. Cus I know there’s ways to impress customers while also doing it for yourself.

the most wild part of the episode is Ramsey being perplexed about adults still living with their family. Its not out of the question in some cultures, i guess here in usa its odd, but as an american myself- I plan to have my mother move in with me and my bf. I can’t stand when I go to a restaurant and the menu is huge. Well for one, when there’s a huge menu, you know it’s not going to be fresh. It’s impossible to keep that many items like that. But mainly just end up getting stressed and annoyed with having to read and decide.

This whole episode is so shamelessly contrived, from Gordo (the White Jacketed Crusader) Ramsay arriving in a vintage red pick-up truck, to the hilarious bonfire scene! It's scripted! It's labored, strained and as overdone as one of their steaks!! It's a formula, and it still works by some miracle! I guess when you're on a good thing, stick to it!!
