I have an 04 Honda Helix that I bought last year. I weigh 375 lbs. and I can cruise comfortably at 65mph. I wish you lived in Ohio. You would definitely be my scooter mechanic. Wish you had more videos on doing maintenance on the Helix.
There are three similar scooters. Honda Helix, suzuki Gemma and yamaha morphous. All built to the same basic design. The Gemma is not available in the usa. I have had a helix and currently own a Morphous. VERY SIMILAR (but different) scooters. Love them both.. wish I could find a helix I could afford
Cool video. Love seeing something old get back on the road like this. I’ve been loving my 1993 Helix since I picked one up in January, though it’s needed a decent amount of work and needs a good bit more. Hoping that a carb cleanup / tune will give me some power off the line.
I found one at a yard sale ! Replaced carburetor , fuel pump, it's my daily driver excellent gas mileage very dependable machine. But I'm ready for something bigger !
I have a 2009 Fashion I bought for $300. Cleaned carburetor, fresh gas, fuel filter and gas lines, air filter, oil change. I've had it up to 74mph. Awesome find.
3:53 I think a good carb cleaning is inline for sure, I dont think the gas/air mixture is in play so much here, I also think its worth looking at the variator, belt and rollers, that and carb tuning will change the speed of this, the "Helix" and their clones are some of the most fun scooters out there, I like your videos they are fun
@@IFixShet No worries, it was only funny because I only had my right earbud in when I started it. I thought maybe I was supposed to interpret your hand signals. Ha, took me a second but I figured it out. I've had that problem with some of my videos and looked it up that you can double that mono track and make it stereo when editing.
Changed the gear oil? I bought a 2007 Helix in June 2021 with 10,317 mi. Oct. 2022 now has 17,700. I love the GOAT. Changed intake ( K&N RC-1060 ) and thus did jetting. Dr. Pulley Vario next. You live in Temple Terrace? I'm in Pinellas Co.
I'm in Wesley chapel and refurbishing 2007. W 16k. New gas and plug and battery. Bad spark and runs battery down fire up at beginning. Like 2 seconds and shuts off and won't start? Help

I think you're the only one with this problem with that issue mate. The GoPro connects to only one microphone port so it only plays out of one speaker so if your cellular device does not have stereo playback that would be your problem
@@IFixShet Ok, now this is weird. This ISN'T the video that had the low sound, in fact I'm pretty sure that video was by someone else... so I don't know how the hell my comment wound up on your video instead of the other person's.
Can you show the valve adjustment, mines been sitting for 10 years, it wants to go but won't, I'm ordering a coil weds, mine seems to have less spark than what you showed in the previous video
@@IFixShet oh shit nice bro sometimes I'm in the central Florida area if you want to give me the shop info or talk on another more personal app for mobile work let me know I need work on my bike
@@IFixShet The Helix has a oil change window next to the odo that flips from green to red color set at about 1,200 miles. You push the key in the rubber slot to reset it at oil change. The clones do have that as well.

I owned a 1986 Helix from new and never heard the cooling fan come on.

Those handle bars remind of my old Kawasaki. 82?
sounds like the valves are too loose
Loud opening music, then almost NO volume for the actual video.

I can pickup a 99 helix with 8500 miles on it for 2000🤔 what do you think 👍
That's pretty low mileage but at this point I'm not sure I would pay that much for a 99 maybe an early 2000s model up to 2007
Thats a steal here in chicago burbs the 1986 helix are selling for $2700 with over 10k miles
Getting a 250cc Honda elite for 1,000 here in IN

The Helix has no oil warning light. Does the clone?
That is a good question And if I remember correctly I do remember seeing an oil light

That bike will run 70+ MPH all day on the interstate.
Apparently not cuz it threw a rod

Sounds ok. Fresh oil and gas may be all ot needs. 👊😎
