For a car that received a lot of praise from both magazines, press and professional drivers, I'm a bit surprised at this review by Fifth Gear. The 12/13 Boss 302 is a fraction of the price of many of the cars it passes on the track, with only stock components in it. And while it may not be as sophisticated as some, it certainly provides a lot of bang for the buck when it comes to a car that you can daily drive comfortably and then drive to the track and race competently. That was Ford's goal when they designed it and I'd say mission accomplished. For further reference, check out the cars it beat around Laguna Seca (Lap Times). Respect indeed!

It would be nice if they referenced when the original date the episode aired. The "boss" Mustang she's driving was out in 2012-2013 approximately.
Mustangs 6th generation came out in 2015 with IRS, not to mention the Alum Flat plane crank on the GT350R.
It could be due to the fact that they imported the mustang as you cant buy them in the uk
I get really pissed when they complain about fuel economy with a US car but never mention economy in any European car review. Even if the European car gets 10 mpg they won’t discuss it.

New Stangs have RHD. This looks like a 2011 Boss.
Not sure of the model year, but that was the previous Gen Mustang.

Boss Mustangs were built for 2012 and 2013. I have a 2012. It is awesome.

Have you driven a 12/13 Boss 302 on a track ? I have and they handle very well, capable of embarrassing other "sports" cars far more expensive and hyped by Brits, Germans, Italians and others. :-). In fact, the goal of the Boss program was to beat the BMW M3 lap time around Laguna Seca, which they did very early on in the development of the Boss. And yes, the GT350 and R model takes the track performance up yet another level.
European standards what the hell does that even mean, a good track car is a good track car it’s kind of black and white at least it looks that way to me, all the prissy euro cars just got an American spanking on that track

@@jimmorrison3715 no, it's just a quicker way to get up to 60. I only did it a couple times to test a theory.
150miles? Just how fast were you going, or did you keep it in 5th or 6th gear? I know Clarkson, bitches about this but he never takes American V8s out of the 3rd gear. 75-80mph in 6th and you will get 300+miles on a tank.
I was wondering the same. I regularly get 320-330 miles per tank with my 5.0 and I usually run it to the redline in first and second every time I stop at a light because I'm a child. People don't seem to understand that this Mustang gets the exact same MPG as a BMW M3. I think they are just hung up on the myth that "muscle cars get bad gas mileage" and need to come up with a con for the car lol.
