Welcome to the full replay of the CATAN U.S. National Championship 2021 Final between Bo Peng, Mari Storch, Katie Alex, and Caleb Sommer. All of them have won their respective local tournaments, passed a 3 round preliminary, and won their semi-final games. Enjoy the game as some of the very best CATAN players in the U.S. face each other in the final game of the national championship.
Former U.S. Champion Chris Broderick and his brother Tim Broderick provide the commentary for this exciting final game.

🎲 How do you play? Here is a quick overview:
- In CATAN each player must accumulate a total of 10 victory points to win.
- Players must build settlements, cities, or development cards to win victory points.
- Players need resources to build, which resources you get are determined by rolling the dice and looking for the result in the board. Each settlement near that result earns 1 of that resource (cities earn 2).
- Players are allowed to trade with one another, but resources and development cards are otherwise hidden.... except not in this video :D

Yeah, I watched this final late last year.
Honestly, it was one of the more cringey finals in terms of tonality I can recall coming across. It was just outright unpleasant to watch at times, and I don't say that often given the live event Catan community is generally VERY civil and convivial. It was still worthwhile to watch from an analytical/decision-making perspective as well as that now-infamous trade dispute debate...........................but yeah: I can't say I enjoyed watching that tournament overall unlike most any other. “¯\_(ツ)_/¯“
Still, I think it's great you provided some additional insight and commentary into it here. And the way you utilized card-tracking and broader game statistics here in your editing is by far the most game-changing thing I've seen in the online Catan community since Retired Hero's contributions via use of visuals/green screen effects for plows, "Situation Room", the Dreaded Seven, etc. More of this layout please! Keep up the great work and play! =)

I'd love if someone built a GUI for Catan with accumulative production over time with key events like cities, dev cards and robbers. Something like the League of Legends competitive GUI.
That would be awesome, if i make a similar video in the future, ill be sure to develop something like this
