who's brilliant idea was it to have the audio of the commentators and the players happen at the same time?
Thank you for this upload. Combining both audios is just horrible to try to hear what is going on. Something to think about for next time.
Maybe upload two versions of the game [1] commentary version [2] table talk version. Additionally, consider wireless mics for the players, you can get clip ons because te background noise is a little annoying too. 👍👍
If youtube allowed upload of video and audio separately they could build in a function that allows us users to select between background tournament noise or table talk or commentary. And maybe even be able to activate all three audio channels and then adjust the levels to your personal liking. Audio is actually more important than video when it comes to tracking the conversational strategy and trading.

Bo was not talking into the mic. As the end, during the commentary, Bo talked into the mic and the audio was fine
All of the production struggles had me rolling. The audio, getting the red player wrong, the poor bastard trying to fix the dice roll tracker. Chef's kiss.
The male commentator constantly talking "over" the players was highly annoying. Plus it was hard to tell he was even a commentator because his sound was the same level as the players, while the female commentator was easy to hear. I gave up a turned it off at 35:09. The annoyance is not worth it.
This audio mix is hella bad... just let us hear the players

Yeah this is unbearable.
Took a few years for poker livestreams to get good commentary. Started out terrible, constantly talking over the players, but it improved over time. I'm sure Catan will get there eventually.
Yeah hard to hear either the players or the casters when everyone is talking.
"I love listening to the players during placements" proceeds to talk over them a ton.
Just because you have commentators doesn't mean they have to be talking regularly

A tip. Listen with stereo headphones and only wear the left one. The audio is edited quite bad with the commentators on the right and players on the left

Tf is the point of voiceover for a game like Catan.. in my opinion this was a hard watch with the sound up but that’s cool this is even a thing

A few weird things going on that game, Griffin should've been gunning for road from the start, and when he had the chance should've cut of Derek so he was incredibly fortunate to win, also not impressed with Steven feeding Derek the win if it got around to that turn, that was messed up. Derek objectively played the best game but welcome to catan, first place gets targeted for way too long and then someone else wins. GG to all but Steven.

@@jacknagy2233 I'm not a pro or anything but I have eyes and a brain and I can see blatant misplays, just like the commentators, the only one who can't see it is you apparently. Just shows you don't know anything about Catan.
I can't stand how slow these players are. Going slow doesn't make your moves any better.

Katie is delusional: "I'm not winning so thats great. You should go after the leader." Thats great, everyone has 2 points Katie.... People like her annoy me so much when Playing Catan. It shouldn't be allowed to point out point counts and create bias like that. It shows a weakness in your ability to play the game. It also shows your lack of faith in the other player's situational awareness. Oh and if your comments gain extra attention on me, I put all of my energy into you not winning. Comments liek that can make a person lose a game.
the commenters mentioned she’s been at the tournament for a couple of years so I think she’s fine.
I know this is a really old comment but I find it interesting. It can definitely be annoying but I feel like manipulation like that is a key component to the game. The best players need to be able to see through the BS imo

Are there any tournaments where there is no talking allowed? I don't like how they talk about everything...strategies etc. I wanna see what happens where there is no discussion.
Catan is literally fundamentally a trading & social game. You would be killing 99% of the game's skill.
